Hi, I’m super new to arcGis Pro. But in this video when you show pulling up the attributes table for you US Counties what would you do if your map doesn’t show you an attributes table? I got my map from the online arcgis portal so I would assume the layer is a polygon but again I’m seriously on day two of using arc so i could be completely wrong!
So the layer should show in the table of contents on the left. To access the attribute table you right click on the name to open the menu with that option. Maybe you are looking at a base map? It is possible to stream layers from the cloud but you should be able to see the attribute table.
Hi! Great tutorials! My question: how do I make sure that Excel document columns are imported as text? I was trying to change the field type to text in Excel and then importing the table/sheet, but it still shows as Double. Cant make it change scientific notations into text for some reason. Thank you for your videos!
I think I do explain that in another video, try looking towards the end of this one...ua-cam.com/video/I3ZJ6jTsMiU/v-deo.html. If you change the field type in excel it should import as a text field. If you continue to have trouble, you can just create a new field and copy the contents into that new text field in ArcGIS.
Hi, this is very helpful! I have a question, I am trying to import my excel data into my map, but when I click on my excel file I don't have anything that says "sheet 1" like you did. it says my "container is empty" what does this mean? How do I fix this?
I'm not 100% sure why it says "container is empty" it might be the version of Excel you are using and/or the version of ArcGIS you are using. A possible solution is to save your excel table as a .csv file and import it into ArcGIS that way.
@@drmckinnon you should use “part X” or use the time stamp function to link your follow up videos within previous videos. It will drive and keep traffic on your page. Thank you again!
You solve the reality of problems we run into with ArcPro. Thank you.
Thank you for the very detailed explanation, it helped me greatly!!

A trick: watch movies at Flixzone. I've been using it for watching all kinds of movies recently.
@Brendan Xzavier Yup, been watching on flixzone for since december myself :)

Did you upload the follow-up video? I looked through all of your videos but couldn't find it. :(
Sorry, I should have a logical naming system for these videos. This is the follow-up video: ua-cam.com/video/azsYTmFTIfU/v-deo.html
