As a Canadian, I admit I have never heard of Tête-à-la-Baleine, apparently it's a tiny town that used to be a trading post. Don't have a clue how it got on Risk 😂
Hey drew, the most important metric for determining how easy a territory is to hold is not how many territories it has, but how many control points it does. A control point is a territory that can be attacked by another territory you don't control. For example, Alaska has 6 territories but 4 control points. The idea is to minimize the number of control points you have while also expanding
I think the larger the territory bonus means it has more entry points. Like Newfoundland has more bonuses than Alaska because you have to defend all four territories there.
I learned a few things today: 1. Drew can't do math 2. Risk is Plague Inc. 3. Drew can't read or pronounce canadian provinces 4. Drew doesn't know what pink looks like 5. Drew never realized that he can move troops across the hudson bay to quebec and cripple pink team's cards they get every round. 6. Drew doesn't know what to attack 7. Drew lost to bots
"You see that undefended territory that our enemy can attack and destroy all of our weak troops and cut us off not allowing us to fortify over there?" Dont worry about it
How do you win against the AI ? You simply invade all their provinces that give bonus. Your end game was terrible. You have to ignore defending. And simply take as many territories as possible. While breaking their regional bonuses. There is a "hidden" bonus. Each 3 territories above 12 gives you 1 more unit per round. So for 12 you get +1 15 you get +2 18 you get +3 And so on. Your biggest mistake was to not break the territory of Quebec that gives +8 early on. Which was what made the end game such a pain for you. The AI will usually reinforce next to your big armies in order to contest them. But won't go over 4 for the small ones. Which mean that you can pretty much bait them. By leaving a one territory. They may invade you. But with your bonuses. You can't get everything back, and break behind their big lines giving you absurd bonuses compared to them each round.
this video hurt to watch, that was no stalemate in the slightest, all you had to do was make a little deathball and gut their territories cutting off their bonuses and using the rest of your troops to clean up the edges until there is nothing left. not a stalemate in the slightest
hey drew! im from Canada and here's how i pronounce each province/territory: (pronunciation varies from region to region) British Columbia; we just call it B.C. Alberta; alburda Saskatchewan; s'sgadtchuon Manitoba; Manitoba Ontario; on,tario or ontaryo Quebec; kubec new Brunswick; new brunzwick nova scotia; nova scosha prince Edward island; P.E.I. newfoundland and Labrador; newfundland 'n labredour Nunavut; newnavut north-west-territories; north-west-territories Yukon; yookon and tete-de-la-baleine is head of the whale in French (tet du la balene)
If I was in Drew’s position at the end, I would have just used the only tactic I know in that situation. Call the gorilla tactic, which is extremely messy but effective. It all about using all the troops I got to deny the AI as much bonus in a single turn as possible while trying to some what keep my own bonus intact. This tactic really messes with the AI, so eventually you will come out on top.
How to say Canadian provinces! British Colombia: BC Alberta: Alberda Saskatchewan: Sas-ka-chew-won Newfoundland: New-Fin-Land Quebec: Ke-Beck Nunavut: Noo-Na-Vut
You should have a 3 or more in every border state of your country so that the Ai will be discouraged to fight you, especially when they are stacking troops. You should also keep your country close together and not all over the place. Love your videos Drew
drew, ok good play, if there is a territory with only 1 that you can destroy a bonus with, go for it and forfeit your troops back, it makes a huge diference
The way you pronounce Saskatchewan is "Sass-Catch-Eww-an" and Nunavut is "New-na-vit" and then Alberta is "Alberd-a" and tete a la Baleine means Whale Head in french
As a Canadian, I admit I have never heard of Tête-à-la-Baleine, apparently it's a tiny town that used to be a trading post. Don't have a clue how it got on Risk 😂
Yeah, Sept-Iles is the biggest city in that region of Quebec. I have no idea why they decided to go with a town that only has 124 people instead.
Maybe one of the devs was from there, or it's an in-joke
The fact he prononced "Teetee-à-la-Whateverthisis", seriously Teetee
