The re-use of the same details as Red Velvet was fairly obvious, but isn't imitation the highest form of flattery? The real issue IMO is that they didn't really do it better than RV or have a particularly original spin on it. It's just derivative and strays from their identity (RV is known for a certain creepy quirkiness; IVE has always gone for a more main-stream glamorous look.) I don't think it's a reason to get angry - quite the opposite. Artists borrow ideas all the time, but if all they can offer is a weak imitation, then it's not really worth fans investing in it.
IVE really had a good concept going for them but starship, not the girls, really fumbled the bag with their latest comeback. Good thing luvies are generally a peaceful fandom. But c’mon, a desert is a normal setting for MVs, but adding a giant cat to it is def copying and not inspiration. The one of these nights portion is def copying as well. The other parts of IVE’s comeback with similarities can be taken with a grain of salt. But as a whole, it’s such a disrespect to the creative team behind red velvet. Again, not talking about any of the girls from both groups, but their creative directors
Well I guess it's fine cause they are following red velvet's footsteps their concept is the most unique concept among all girl grouos by the way, standing out out and not following the trendsy cutesy and girl crush concept.
