MISSED YOU MIKE! Congrats on getting the shingles on the back side of the house done. That last set of shingles you did really look nice. It is easy to see how difficult a job it was/is. Take care of yourself and I hope that all goes well with the elbow injections and that you are not out of commission for too long. Enjoy your Independence Day weekend.
Hope all is well with your recovery and wishing you a speedy one as well. Your health is focus number one so take your time and we'll join you when you're ready.
Happy 4th to you and Sarah. Sorry to hear about your elbow. Getting old ain’t for sissies, I guarantee you that. Must be a relief to have that one side done. Can’t wait to see the next video.
You, The Outsider and My Self Reliance are building such amazing, unique, creative habitations in the woods, and I look forward to every video you all make.
Hey Mike, no rush on the videos. Get yourself healed. You're a proficient and meticulous craftsman! We enjoy your videos and are amazed by your creativity. Whether it's at the refurbished building or the cabin; we're not going anywhere. You and Sarah take care!
I think you ought to consider throwing a party when the last shingle goes up! I know I'll be cheering. Wow, I've had projects like that that just take on a life of their own and never seem to finish...but the day will come:) Best wishes for a gentle healing of your elbow.
Good morning Mike. Good to see video and more progress at your beautiful cabin. Hope and pray all goes well with your injections and not long recovery time. Stay cool and enjoy your 4th weekend!
You can either wait a couple of years for the pond water to clear as things settle in it, or you can buy a chemical that causes the particles in the water to clump enough for them to settle to the bottom. I'd go with the chemicals so you will have a better swimming hole quicker. Even though the cedar shingles were a lot of work, it has turned out beautiful.
Another very enjoyable video. Thank you Mike for allowing us along on the journey. Hoping all goes well with the injections. Hope you have a wonderful independence day. Take care. Peace!
Now it’s a holiday weekend. The music as you finished that peak! It took us right there with you in an over-the-top kind of way. Good fun. Congratulations. That has to be a high point of the build.
Congratulations on finishing that side up! I have a shingled house in a city that needed painting for an inspection. My husband swore (literally and figuratively) that he will never paint it again. I was going to suggest a siding not requiring care but then realized you care about the appearance of your house! Hope all goes well and you heal quickly.
Woohoo! I feel like it's a weight off of my shoulders too! Those nagging projects we put off are always in the back of our minds. Good luck with your recovery!
Nice work on the scaffolding. I had to install a metal roof on my shed a couple weeks ago and it was as slippery as I expected. I drove my truck next to it and put a ladder in the bed so it was braced and used that to be able to move up and down the panel. I can see me using your scaffold idea in the future though. Thank you.
It looks Phenomenal! Congratulations! By watching everything you’ve done has given me so many ideas that I want to implement I just have to figure out what I can do and what achievable so thank you I appreciate everything you’ve done and again the cabin looks absolutely phenomenal!
What happened to the magic hammer? That and a magic roof ladder would see it done in a second LOL Great to see the shingles getting finished, and it looks fantastic.
Missed you Mike! Glad to see you again ☺️. I can't believe you're almost done with shingles. You working on shingles has been one of the few constants in my life. I don't know what I'm going to do once you're done :(
Great seeing you again, Mike! Missed this video when you first released it, so was a pleasant surprise finding it today. The shakes look really good. I liked how you touched in shakes & moisture wicking. 10 years ago, I hired house painters and when they saw the quarter-inch gap between the bottom row and drip edge, they filled it with caulk around the whole house! Needless to say, they spent a few days scraping it all out. Hope your arm is doing better today! Thanks for the video.
Hello David, glad you found the video. That must have been a pain for them it always amazes me how often that happens, or is installed tight to the roof.
After 2 years of siding I am thinking T1 11 is the Bomb...glad you are back. Hope the elbow treatments go smooth. I really enjoy and learn from your channel
Thanks for posting 👍 Your cabin is looking awesome! I did Shakes on my cabin and the shaking gets slow going once you get to the point of working from a ladder and working along the eaves. The shingles looks really good 👍
May your elbow heal well with medical help and eating well. Galen, an ancient physician, said our food should be our medicine. And I know for myself it was true. All the best to your ladies at home. And thank you for taking time to do this video. 🦋🐈⬛🖖
Always enjoy watching the videos. You've come a long way. I admire anyone who can do the quality work you do. Thanks for sharing and I hope all goes well with your surgery. God bless you.
Thanks for the roof ladder idea. Looks more stable then the ladder hooks on an extension ladder section. I've got a 22 ft long 10/12 roof I need to finish the side of my dormers with the shake style cement board. Did not like using the bucket lift. A pain to work out of for finish work and I kept bumping my steel roof with the bucket. I pray your health gets better!
Shingle siding looks fantastic, but I put weather board cedar (ship lap) on my house. Single is just too labour intensive. Look after yourself mate, you're work/content/videos are super appreciated by us lucky enough to have found you.
Great progress 👍. Your attention to detail is top notch. Hopefully some gutters are in the plans, seeing how the splashback is already showing on your board and batten, especially on the front porch area.
I'm a claims adjuster. We see plenty of scaffolds left on the backside of steep metal roofs. Unless there's a snow load issue there's not really any reason to remove them. And it's super convenient later in life.
Everything in due time, you have plenty of videos to watch, I came in on the middle of your build anyway. Heal well, don't rush it. The siding is labor intensive, I somehow think you wouldn't choose that again no matter how nice it looks.
Good morning! Happy 4th of July to everybody!
Morning!
And you have one also.
Hope everyone has a glorious Fourth of July Weekend!
And to you too from England. So glad we distanced our nation from yours now you have Brandon as your figurehead
New Joe's cabin and Martin's cabin videos. A nice morning.
Thanks and please take care of yourself. Keeping you in prayers!!
Will do!

Good to see you working on the cabin again
Thanks Rusty

Thanks Jay happy 4th! Yea it sure sucks everything on me keeps breaking and hurting.
You, The Outsider and My Self Reliance are building such amazing, unique, creative habitations in the woods, and I look forward to every video you all make.
Add Nik Rijavec to the list, too.
Thumbs down on my self reliance, guy is a total fake, only in in for the $.

Nice work!
Thanks!
Looks great!
Thanks!
Wishing a speedy and healthy recovery. Thank you for the content and entertainment. It’s meant a lot to us that can’t do it anymore. Kudos.
Hallo auch mal wieder da habe mich sehr gefreut.
I love seeing you finish tedious things. It gives me motivation to tie up loose ends on my projects. Thanks. And that roof ladder…… genius.
Thanks, good luck on your projects!
Good morning Mike. Good to see video and more progress at your beautiful cabin. Hope and pray all goes well with your injections and not long recovery time. Stay cool and enjoy your 4th weekend!

I actually have to pump it out because my filter floated up out of the gravel bed!
Another very enjoyable video. Thank you Mike for allowing us along on the journey. Hoping all goes well with the injections. Hope you have a wonderful independence day. Take care. Peace!

haha I thought it was kinda funny/overly dramatic for what was going on.
Congratulations! Ta Da!
Great work as usual. You did really well up on the eves. Tough area to work on. You have a lot of staining ahead of you!!
Thanks 👍

Great to see another video! You are so close on the siding. That will be a big accomplishment and will make a great video! Hope the elbow heals fast!

Wow! It looks great! That's a lot of tedious work. Hope all goes well with your injections... get well soon.

Awesome Mike. Going to need a bottle of champagne to pop when you get the last shingle nailed up.
Thanks Jerry! for real!
