I like to think that Gus is the character who reads the sponsors. He's a very Beej character, and it explains why he's always at the controls.
Personally I headcanon him as Ben, due to him doing the audio effects during most of the live QWRPlines at Desert Bus, but I do really like this idea.
@@Blackadder125 I have that same headcanon too, mainly because he _did_ pick up the role of Gus in the DB10 Qwerpline.
Love that we’ve reached the part of the podcast that all small town radio station parody podcast eventual reach: the host(s) becoming enemies with the local (often times recently couped) municipal government! Let the journalists (and local radio DJs) rise up!
Not just enemies, but openly hostile to each other!
The fact that Lorna drew the line at homeopathy was so unbelievably shocking!
I loved that twist, and then the follow up that it seems at least partially because she's a grifter looking to sell large quantities of everything 😂

The reveal of who the health correspondant is absolutely hit me like a truck, I love it
A truck that runs on biodiesel and bee pollen.
It glomped onto my shoulders like a heavy, waterlogged and scratchy towel that had been dripping on me for a few moments; not entirely a surprise, but certainly a mood-killer and a profoundly unwanted and uncomfortable addition.
(Props to Kathleen for such a compelling performance!)

I'm kind of surprised (and disappointed) that Dick's ranting about how safe his train was didn't end with him suffering a fatal but hilarious accident.
I was expecting it to inexplicably power down just as he finished his prattle, just out of sheer embarrassing Narrative Irony.

My headcannon about lorna getting the job isnt that joann is mad at Graham and alex, but that gus finally wore her down just enough that she said yes just to get him to shut up.

For a minute there I thought mayor Thurpston had built just a bare rail pointing at The Town Hall, making his maglev spite train a LITERAL rail gun!
That funicular reminds me of one installed next town over... it was installed 2019 and first time it worked for a month without breaking down was in 2023
For a show with that level of adlib, it's nothing short of impressive to rely enough on the crew's acting chops to convey around 3 minutes that Derek was reading something verbatim without ever needing to make it explicit

It might be pitched up. Editing sounds to pitch them up or down can have that effect, I think.
I still love this show and this season is great so far, but man it really lost something when you guys started taking out the laugh breaks. I listen to the early episodes over and over.
