- In this video we are going to take a look at a 2.5" to 3.5" Hard Drive mounting kit for use with small form factor SSD's and HDD's. This kit from Inateck and can be bought off Amazon for $9.99 (at the time of this video, link down below).
The Inateck "2x 2.5 Inch SSD to 3.5 Inch Internal Hard Disk Drive Mounting Kit" comes with everything you need to mount a 2.5" SSD or HDD within your desktop computer. Inside the box you will find 2X SATA data cables, 1 molex to dual SATA power cable, 1 SATA to dual SATA power cable, mounting screws, a screwdriver, and the 2.5" to 3.5" mounting bracket.
Overall, the components within the kit felt like they were on the cheaper side. The mounting bracket felt a bit flimsy and the power cables were composed of thinner gauge wires than what I am used to using inside my PC's. Despite these small quality marks, the kit got the job done and is a good solution if you want an all in one package that is straightforward to use.
However, I did not find the drive mounting process to be the simplest experience and there are definitely more pragmatically designed solutions out there. If you do not feel like this particular bracket is for you then check out a decent alternative from ICY DOCK listed down below.

The most important part that we need is not actually how to fit the 2 HDD and SSD in the bracket! we need to know how to connect the cables between the PC and the item.
I had similar experience trying to get two drives into the bracket. I found it helped to wedge some folded cardboard against the side of one drive, and then install the screws, and remove the cardboard. This way the drive doesn't move around. Also always install the bottom drive first.
Good morning and thank you
AA Computers and Technology,
I live in France and I am French.
I was looking for a tutorial to plug a 2.5 SSD drive into a 3.5 rack.
Because I was wondering how to make the connection without making an electrical short circuit between the contacts of the SSD and the metal box of the rack.
Thank you because your tutorial is clear in addition to being filmed with good image quality.
I'd like to put a thumbs up to make your tuto known.
For the record:
My custom PC in a small shop is equipped with an Intel i3-3225 HD 4000 and a Cooler Master Hyper TX3 Evo dissipator.
I bought it in April 2013 7 years ago.

Bonjour et merci
AA Computers and Technology,
I’ll probably pick this up now that it’s a whole dollar less right now. I’ll be using this on an optiplex 780 sff so I can use an ssd and hdd at the same time and drop it in the 3.5 hard drive caddy.
Drop the HDD for another SSD. Aside from cooling fans, mechanical moving parts are dated.
My 120gb Sandisk ssd came with something like this is but it seems like a solid bit of plastic I can't get the drive into it was £36 from eBay
A nice tutorial again... Very perfect! This is what I'm looking for... This bracket thing that can carry 2 hdd/sdd since Imma gonna install some sh*tty storage drives into my PC! Thanks dude
near to 10K!
Great review!! This will come in handy when I build my PC.
ODU represent!
Anybody knew the link to the adjustable mic he was using?
It looks a bit tall with both drives installed. Let's say I have 4 ssd's, 2 on each bracket. Would the 2 brackets fit on top of eachother?
why it has only 4 wires instead of5 in power cable?
One question man, does the right angle sata cable fit well on the bottom drive? As it seems this Inateck 2.5" to 3.5" dock situates the drives in the middle making it seem like it won't fit properly.
do you have any laptop version of this video?
how do you usually get your old computers? i only have a few and I'm not sure where to look for more.
I buy most of my old systems from garage sales.
Ok, thank you
Talking way too fast and I didn't get a lot out of what you did.
not bad but doesnt look like the most practical in the long term
I think you need to buy a magnetic screw driver or at least make one..
Magnets can be pretty sketchy when using around components that you can ruin with a magnetic attraction.
@@joshuabartz9051 Which would not be an issue in this case
@@sypex6873 correct, not on flash. Just meant it might not be a good habit to get into. The install on these are very simple without the use of magnetic tools. Really depends on if the hardware is ferrous as well.
Is it bad to split sata power? How many times can you split one and does it affect the power being supplied to the sata connection?
SSD do not require much power. Split no more than once over 2 drives.
This is completely practical. This felt over embellished. If installing screws on that was difficult or awkward, pick something else to cover for a topic. I think this is possibly the easiest, error proof install you can do on any pc build personally. Don’t let me stop you or discourage from putting out content. Just my two cents.

PLEASE HELP: How do I get a 3.5" hdd to mount in there?
Use a 3.5 bracket
The problem with you screwing the HDD is that you talk too much for something relatively simple. Put the screw FIRST into the hole, then align the first hole of the HDD and you are done. Simple.
Hey change top to, well to.
Yes.
I am not sure what you mean?
Oh, haha, now I see it. Thanks for letting me know :) !
Hey, check your email, wanted to chat when available. My old friend lives on your street and I remember you.
Don't you mean "ssd" in the title?
Yes, yes I did. Thank you!
thank you it helped me so much
