Another great video, Katja. Your observations about the harmony between old and new, nature and man-made are so thought-provoking All of the food looks so delicious 😍😍 loved seeing all the placed you stumbled upon, like you said sometimes you have to get lost to find the cool places You guys look so good in your kimonos! That blue is beautiful 💙 so happy to see you enjoying Japan! The large beer probably helped 😂
I would never have expected a glass of alcohol to be so expensive in Japan. Prices are somewhat similar to Scandinavia. If you were to implement those prices in Belgium, it would be revolution!😄 Wow! the food looks so healthy! Are the food prices affordable In Japan? Really nice & authentic sharing of your journey! Keep it up!
we were also unpleasantly surprised since we love to have a beer (or two) in the afternoon. It was hard to find a lager that was cheaper than 5€. But the beer is so so good - I loved trying them out! Food on the other hand is cheap. You can get a bowl of delicious ramen (or other soup) for as little as 4€. Street food was from 1-5€ depending on the type and meals ranged around 5-15€/person. Japan is definitely a foodie heaven!
I have been living for 5 years in Kyoto now and let me say, the overtourism in Kyoto is real. I can't remember when was the last time I even went to Gion, or any of the touristy places cuz I have been avoiding them like a plague. Kyoto has amazing nature and beautiful old shrines. Places like Ohara are a hidden gem if you ever feel like you need to take a break from the crowd. If you absolutely must go to any of the touristy areas, it is best to go very early in the morning. Kyoto can be expensive but I hope you go to Osaka, it's a lot more affordable! Nevertheless, enjoy your trip! ✨
yeah, I can imagine! It`s sad because over-tourism makes them lose their charm. Kyoto is an incredible city and popular for a reason - I felt a bit disappointed that I couldn`t enjoy the charming old streets but we did find some quiet areas that were really nice. I wish we had more time to venture a bit further from the downtown area, Ohara looks spectacular! yes, It`s Osaka next! :) thank you for stopping by and I hope you`ll enjoy the Japan series!
Končno sem si vzel čas, da si pogledam tvoj japonski trip. Me pa jezijo ti algoritmi na yt, ko imaš še v angleščini videe, a vseeno malo ogledov, ker jih yt skriva. Škoda, ker so fajn.
Kyoto is very charming. Especially the narrow alleyways and markets, easy to fall in love with it.
