- Hey guys, I haven't posted in quite a while!
You guys know...Life :)
I actually have been on the water a couple of times but mostly with my two boys, so between fishing and watching my youngest one is hard/impossible to make a video as well...
Saying Hi to Ray and Stephen, I've met these gentlemen on the water!
Hope you guys enjoy the video!

Better late than never, and likely a lot less foot traffic than opening day. Some nice fish!
I didn’t catch many but it was good to be on the water!
Glad to see you back, Costi. Water conditions looked good today, couple of nice fish. Well done my friend.
Adrian!
We have to try harder to get on the water together!
Nice fishing 🎉 where is the location if you don mind
Awesome stuff Costi! Great to see you back! Some really nice fish you landed and a stand up job by your new net man lol. Perfect landing!
Hey!
Great to be back!
Great video as always boss. I'm normally a bass fishermen but the wait until opener is killing me, so I really want to get on to some trout. Do you have any recommendations for starter gear? Float rods/reels are pretty pricey from what I see at Sail or Cabelas.
If I would be you, I would start with my bass fishing rod, spinning reel and a 10-12 pound main line with 6-8 fluorocarbon.
So give that a chance, if you want to get into center pining, take something cheap so you can find what you like.
@@FishonFishgone Awesome, thanks for the reply!
Nice fish! Quick question about trout opener, would you fish closer to the river mouth or further upstream right now?
Hey Joshua, it depends on the river and the weather/warm/cold/water level, but probably I would try first somewhere in the middle towards upstream.
If the water levels are high, or higher, you're out of luck because the fish are very scattered.
But personally, I prefer upstream and then make my way downstream within a week or so.
@@FishonFishgone thank you. I mainly fish steelhead on the credit river
You have a lot of other creeks in that area, explore!
And yes that river is pretty good when the runs are happening!
Nice fishing
Thanks mate!
Hey bro how have you been
It’s not so bad playing cleanup crew 😂
Don’t forget salmon in 4 months lol come out with me for the early skeins
Mate!
I'll see you in August!
Hey man! Following for a few years now, you got me into salmon fishing. Generally speaking, what counts as "up stream"? Are we talking like 2 km from lake? 5? 20? I could always try things out but with a new born, I may only get out once, so want it to count.
Hey Michael, congratulations!
Well, depends on the river, if you talk about Sauggen, upstream could be anywhere from 10km to 50-70…
But on creeks upstream I would say 5-10, some creeks even 15 or so…
On the next salmon season try skein, you will be surprised!
@@FishonFishgone I'd love to tell you which one I fish so you could help me out, but I fish it mainly because other people don't and it's never crowded! lol good luck out there, and thanks!
Michael, have fun out here!
@@FishonFishgone never had success on skeins only roe Bags, worms, Yarn and flies
Hey, when the salmon is running and you put a piece of skein in the water, is like blood in the ocean!
