The amount of hype you feel when you finally superguard his second phase is indescribable.
Or Superguard to finish him off outright... AND get the Double Star Points, as the cherry on the cake!
I like the fact that Prince Mush is included as new optional boss in this remake, since he is the champion before Rawk Hawk and Mario and with this we can see how much stronger he is
Holy s**t, is this fight is challenging in the best way possible! Petition for Prince Mush to be an optional partner in the next Paper Mario game?
And his theme is a banger, of course. Gives me strong Motoi Sakuraba vibes.
I also like how compared to Rawk Hawk, who's a show-boasting, ego-inflating jerk, Prince Mush is just so incredibly humble, but is also brimming with confidence without coming off as arrogant...and rightfully so!
This may possibly be one of the most epic boss themes in the series, and I'd say it's very fitting for a boss that requires you to Superguard. I never would've been able to beat Prince Mush as a kid if he was in the original, I could never successfully Superguard after the tutorial. Being able to pull that off multiple times in this fight felt so satisfying to me, it really felt like a culmination of my skill at this game across the years and this song was perfectly suiting for it.
I was NOT expecting this battle to be tougher than the Shadow Queen AND Bonetail.
Honestly if you put the Shadow Queen and Bonetail together in the same fight, they still wouldn't be harder then this guy unless you're a pro at Superguarding.
The fight against Prince Mush is one of the craziest and intense in this game ever! All you have to do is to Superguard on cue when he's about to attack you so that you got a chance to fight him. It's not that easy tho unless you mastered Superguard many times. This is why you should never underestimate Mush's fighting skills. He's like, the Super Saiyan Toad cuz he unleashes his power with the flame at his back. Besides, he WAS the first champion of the Glitz Pit.
them adding this fight to the game really signaled to me that it was fans of the og who helped make this. Because if you were there back in 2004, for real it was like a dream to battle this guy so I collectively lost my sh*t when I got that email from him. and WOW this song is one of my favorite battle themes in the whole game!! it's so epic!!
Hes strong but not difficult once you mastered super guard. Still a great boss ❤

Oof. That's a lot of health, but I should be able to take him down.
And he dodged my attacks...
And he does like 15 damage on a multi-hit move. Guess I'll die.
Then he locks in and blocks every attack or item, and increases to a 100+ damage attack.
I managed to become the champ again, thinking it was necessary to face that guy, but no it's an exebition match, despite this, I did NOT regret to gain access to the champion's bedroom
First attempt, used all my ultra shrooms.
Successful attempt, not a single one.
This fight is the best test of pure skill this game has
When I was preparing for this fight, I was grinding through the Pit of 100 Trials, just so I could max out my BP for HP+ Badges. I also purchased 6 Life Shrooms just in case. Really glad I got those HP upgrades, cuz it saved my skin when he started doing his combo attack. Love that this battle isn’t just luck, but also heavily skill based. It’s like the ultimate test for everything you’ve learned thus far.
I forgot i had life shrooms with me and honestly felt like a cheater when one activated
I lost anyway but still
I somehow beat him on my first try.
Power lift and a LARGE stock of ultra shrooms and life shrooms helped with that.
this track still instills the fear of Grambi into me.
This battle took me 3 tries and I’m new to the game but this was a ridiculous fight, and also was fun.
That aside this track is really great, I think this theme is a certified banger.

U have like about 3 frames to super gaurd I think (0.05 seconds)that’s what makes this hard
If it's 3 frames, then it's 0.1 seconds, since this game runs at 30 fps.
