Franklin is not over rated. He is a guy who will get you 9, maybe 10 wins and beat who he is supposed to. Occasionally he beats a team he shouldn’t. If you expect more from him than that, then you are setting unrealistic expectations. If PSU wants more it will need to fire Franklin and bring in a different guy.
They're also about $30 million behind in the race for talent in the NIL era. Not sure you can invest in Franklin's buyout AND outspend Ohio State to try and catch up. It's a bad place to be. And Penn State is STILL a lot closer than some of these other formerly prestigious programs that started "behind".
Hey buddy, if you do your research, my Nittany Lions 🦁 are only behind in NIL, because a lot of our by the way we have billionaire alumni, are old school and don't believe in transfer portal and NIL bullshit, and donate to the stadium renovations but not NIL!!! WE have the biggest alumni in the world literally, look it up, and they are older people with huge pockets and have the old school history of our program mentality!!!
James Franklin. What i know about him began as the coach of Vanderbilt and producing back to back 9-win seasons which hasn't been done since he left after the 13' season. Vandy had it's last in 1915. 98 years waiting to win 9 games. He left, paid more money. Pennsylvania and it's sports teams. Always overpaying, always complaining, always under perfoming. Franklin is where he should be
Why doesnt PSU have a WR1? Easy...kids who are 1s dont want to play with HC ??/OC ??/WR coach?? at the college level...Its all about the NFL. Stars at WR want Oregon/OSU/ALA/GA/TEX..where there is real coaching prep for NFL
i don't like calling for anyone to get fired. but it's hard to avoid the obvious reality that, with all of the turnover at OC, DC, and on the roster, there has been one constant at PSU during each of the losses to Ohio State...
The university of Penn State should fire James Franklin when he lost to Ohio State he will never beat Michigan or Alabama or Ohio State only good he can only be non-exist college football team
You look at the 4th quarters of the last 4 or 5 games between OSU/PSU tell the WHOLE story here...OSU is the bully/PSU cant stand up for itself/fight back.
Before OSU went into Happy Valley and took Penn States' soul, all these guys were yapping about how Penn State was a great team and nownthat OSU wins Penn State isnt all that good they only have 2 good players on their offense smfh 😂

What is your coaches record vs OSU?
Using your dumb logic does that make everyone in the b10 frauds? Other than Oregon tht all have a losing record vs OSU and they are all behind psu.

He is a great guy. A good speaker and I like him. If you want more than being a third place team in the big ten. You may need another coach.

The question posed is: can you have patience and confidence in the trajectory of the program.
OK, so then who should they hire that could do a better job?
Fritz Nussbaum
Spending 20 million in NIL and look mid is wild.
Routes took too long to develop. Plus the HOLDING! Be honest.
That touchback rule has to be changed. If it goes out the back line fine, but it went out sideways

Good thing they don't play Indiana!!!!

Franklin is Franklin 10 wins EVER YEAR GUARANTEED 7:24
Penn State doesn't have the talent as The Ohio State Buckeyes!!!!!
Ohio State has the most talent in college football, period! 🌰🏈
Nebraska does not have better receivers than PSU and Nebraska got open. Problem was the holding and zone defense
Pj fleck could win a natty as Penn state coach so could a lot of other big 10 coaches
