When my husband was in the army , we had a thrift shop in the community centre . So we could save and make money . They would sell our items , keep a little and we would have the rest . That was in the very early eighties .
Love your channel, and yes I agree you can say what ever you like on your video. I live in Wolverhampton and our charity shops are no where as good as yours, and we don't have very many either. Keep going, Look forward to your next video.
You took the words right out of my mouth, it’s your channel, you can use whatever you want. But, thrifting is recognised everywhere as you say, but less so other terms. And the algorithms will pick it up. Anyway, I’m Thoroughly enjoying seeing my old stomping grounds and how much it’s changed 🎉❤😅
Your thrifts look nice and things aren't thrown around 😮I'm shocked, cause ours are so chaotic. Dif vibe totally. also, you can really walk in your town and find things to do. I'm amazed. I can't walk anywhere. And our down town has nothing to do minus a couple restaurants and a stadium. I can't believe how big your town looks. It's huge. And it's all so quaint and nice looking. 😢I'm jealous. 😂😂
Its your channel, you can use whatever words you want ,unbelievable all the badness in world and some people complain about a word ..another lovely video 📹 🪴🪴🪴
So interesting people give you grief about the word. 😆 im american but have lived in the UK. I guess the difference i noticed in many thrift shops in the USA is that if there is a "charity" involved, its almost always a church. Atleast across some of the western states ive lived in. Whereas I noticed in the UK a wider variety of different charities supported at the thrift shops. Anyway, i understand why you use "thrift" it makes sense.
Another difference ive noticed is the shops you've showed us, everything is very neatly displayed on the shelves. The thrift stores around me lol it looks like a 4 year old put out the merchandise. They never seem adequately staffed so maybe that's why it feels so messy.
I’m an American and I was watching a guy from the UK saying he was sick of hearing his friends say “you guys” they are just trying to act American. So I asked a UK friend whom I have known for yrs what she thought and she said saying you guys is a common thing to say in the UK. She had no clue why he was insulted.
I agree with your friend. I don’t know what generation the guy is you watch but I believe it may either be generational or regional for those that oppose what they perceive to be ‘American’ euphemisms. 😊 Either way I don’t mind as I like America and the mindset. All the Americans I’ve met appear to have a very positive mindset 😊
@@BARENECESSITIESSIMPLEI’m inclined to think “you guys” needs to go, not because it’s American but because it’s annoying!😂And then there’s the whole gender issue… Regarding your terminology- as a Brit I would have found you quicker if you used “charity shop” rather than “thrift shop”- but I’m glad I’ve found you now.
@ it’s just a quick terminology to say ‘you guys’ I suppose. Also I think in slang now it’s become to mean hi everyone. It’s definitely a UA-cam euphemism at least. Also although I am glad you’ve found me. The UK is only 12% of my audience and an even smaller amount of the international audience. Who would not have found me if I’d put ‘charity shop’. 😊

In Australia, we call thrift or charity shops- Op Shops. All the same, it doesn't really matter. Keep being awesome! 🐱🐱🐱
Thank You ☺️
Once again fantastic video
Thank you 🐝 😊

@BARENECESSITIESSIMPLE did someone complain about thrift? How odd.
@@fionaj77 yes 🙄
Oh!! The sign behind you said Castle!! An actual castle?
Yes an actual Castle 🏰 From the war of the roses era and older. Which is what game of thrones is based on 😊
Scarborough.
I think in America the term "charity shop" would be thought to be for poor people. Amazing how different countries use words.
It is exactly 😊 It’s why I choose to use more universal words 😊
