  • The CGS Group Mod9 is a can that has been very nostalgic for me. It utilizes a baffle that for its time was forward thinking yet simple. Its accomplished more with less. It is one of the first cans I am aware of that Really Tried to incorporate more thought on how booster pistons should interact with the incidence gasses to increase suppression and something I've played with heavily. This video we go over all of that and more. I wont just show you some cones Ill measure them and spec them and model the entire can so you can get a glimpse of how it works. Friday we will meter it and rank it against its peers. We have also compared it to the Obsidian9 from Rugged and highlighted the similarities as well as the differences.
This is entirely for my own personal research/curiosity and not to be copied or taken as advice. Video is intended for entertainment and education as well as personal expression. Please always follow all laws and guidelines. None of this is legal advice. Thanks for tuning in!

I just got mine today. Man, that back plug is tight, and they do not include a tool to take it off so you can swap pistons or put a spacer in it. (Could not find one on their website either) - Basically had to get pliers after it. I think I read the Rugged tool fits it, so I will likely order one of those, or at least one of the third party made ones.
Everything else looked good with it. Hopefully I will get to do a desk pop with it tomorrow.

@@silencerstudent9381 Yes, it came with that tool, and it is used to take the front cap off. The tool does not work to remove the blast chamber. For that, you have to either use pliers, or buy a tool to fit it.

Are you supposed to align each cone with the cutouts in the same place? Mine throws all over the place? I shot it twice and my tube is completely carbon locked to the pistol housing. I can take the piston out but can’t unscrew the tube from housing. Do you have any recommendations?

Foster from the old Form 1 discussion site....
Does anyone make tubes that fit the old DM caps?
    Thanks Bud,

Does anyone know if griffin makes an ez lok piston for the mod9?

no plus you would lose some performance as the piston is special. i have an entire series on testing their pistons on the members page. you can use the generic 1/2x28 thread adapter they make though for cam lok ez lok. watch the video on ways to attach suppressors to carbines as i go into that

they said yes on subs but supers you need to be cautious not to get it over 600 degrees. (no full auto supers)
