I've owned probably 4 colt 1911's. Craftsmanship has always been mediocre. Colt relies on their name, not their quality. I've also owned several tisas 1911's, including the raider. They're definitely better quality in my opinion at a very good price.
People buy Colt and Kimber because of the name recognition and little else. I've got 2 Tisas 1911's (The US Army and the Duty models) and they're way better in terms of reliability than Colt or Kimber. As they say, if you know you know!

First of all, great video.................I have been a fan of Tisas and Girsan for many years now....while I do not have this particular model (I will) I do have six others and seven Girsan's. Guys and gals, I'm telling you, they both make out of this world great 1911's. Fit, finish, quality of internals, accuracy is amazing. I just bought a Tanker as a gift for my daughter (Christmas)....went out to pop off some rounds.....liked it so much, went back in the house and ordered one for myself.......only 349.00 for a fantastic 1911.....went up to 359.00 when I got mine...figures...lol. Keep on fightin' them Patriots!!!! Trump 2024!
Thank you very much. I’m with you I now own 10 Tisas pistols. 9 of their 1911’s and the PX-9 Gen 3 which has the best trigger of any striker fired handgun. Big fan and I will be buying more. If you liked this gun check out the review I did on the MAC 1911 JSOC. That pistol is made by Tisas for MAC and it is fantastic. Take care my friend and TRUMP 2024 🤠
I just got a new Raider a few days ago. Mine does NOT have a relieved slide stop hole on the right side. Otherwise, same same. Mine has a phenomenal trigger, it feels like I already spent 500 dollars on a premium trigger job but it's factory. Short takeup travel, zero creep, clean break. 5 pounds pull. More accurate than I can hold it, and it feeds ALL ammo types. It'll even feed empty shells. I do recommend using original pattern USGI type magazines with the V tapered lips, as that is part of the controlled round feed system that John M. Browning developed for the 1911. Stick with what John designed, as much as possible, and reliability will come with it.
I’m a sucker for the peanut butter! Would have wanted to grab up one of the original colt civilian issue to memory those were 3500 in 2014! Fast forward to 2024 and the decommission marine issue are around 10 K if you can even find one. So it was never really an option now I’ve been seeing this Turkish copy all over the gun tubes and can’t find anyone who hasn’t had a fantastic experience that said, I have the 9 mm waiting for me at the FFL. There’s a recall currently, so I’m not sure if that affected the current price but at 417 there was no way I was gonna pass that one up. Hoping to have it for next weekend’s range day. Now back to your video 👍🏼
I've had minimal experiences with Tisas, but I've always heard good things, and they fit and finish on their guns always impresses me. They FEEL quality which baffles me when I see their prices.... Almost seems like Colt is selling overpriced garbage at inexcusably high prices.
This Tisas has cheap coating which will come off after 200 rounds. This gun isn’t made anywhere close as good as any Colt 1911 made. This guy probably has 40 rounds through this gun.
DB and you are correct in my experience. It shocks me that colt doesn't care about quality. If they did they would still be legendary to me. Thanks tisas!!! Good video!!
Excellent video and great pistol... I found it tough to justify buying the Raider, as I also have the similar Stainless Steele Duty railed model... Agree, it's a fantastic pistol! They are definitely very similar.
I have a Tisas .45 auto Duty and it’s been fantastic for me. It’s my first gun so I don’t have much to go off of, but after the first 200 round break in period, there were ZERO jams and malfunctions. Even towards the beginning, there were only probably 3 jams total and I’m convinced it was the shooters fault with holding the gun and magazines breaking in too. As of now though, not a single jam since my last 200 rounds. Great gun for and even better price
Good Video. I have several Tisas models, including the Raider. All are excellent value. I changed out the recoil spring guide rod with a Wilson Combat bullet proof (I think that was an under $15 part). I also changed out the plunger tube assembly and spring with wilson combat's (again a relatively inexpensive assembly maybe like $10 or less). The original safety on mine was pretty mushy and not very positive. Once the WC assembly was in there it is much more positive. The core components of this gun are all very well manufactured with modern CNC machinery.
The best out of the box colt 1911 i ever owned was a series 70 my father bought in the early 70s. It was loose, like a millitary gun , but it was reliable and accurate. I would not recommend a colt to anybody, unless you just want one for the name. Its your money.
I'm going to admit that I still carry a Colt. Having said that, I am very impressed with my Raider in every respect. It'a very well put together piece of gear.
I picked up the Bantam a while back. Commander length, aluminum frame in .45 with the Ed Brown bob. I love that gun. Most accurate gun I own. Just a dream to carry & shoot. I filled out the paperwork today for the Manta. You’re right…they are killin it.
@@wyominggunproject Watching & subscribing, bud. I like your videos & I used your 1911 safety checks when I eyeballed the Manta yesterday. Thanks! So I did see your Bantam review. Scared the hell outta me. So I ran down to the safe & checked mine. I think mine is more recent? Only says Bantam, not Bantam Carry. And no mill marks. I do have that small gap under the thumb safety. And that slight downward movement. I don’t see that gap on my Ronin or my Custom II. Funny enough, it is present on my Staccato C2. The thumb safety on the Bantam isn’t as snappy as my other 1911’s. And the Manta yesterday felt the same way. Maybe the one thing they could improve upon? Thanks again for the great work you do.
Honestly, the exposed hole near the safety doesn't really bother me at all, I think this is a solid gun. I ordered the stainless railed version, and I can't wait to get my hands all over it.
I love my Tisas Tank Commander in .45 acp. I'm seriously thinking about getting a Raider for a 5" model. Either that or the black B9R Duty. Thanks for the review.
I had the bantam in 45. Overall, it was good shooter. About 600-700 rounds with only one issue during the first few hundred rounds. It was prematurely half way locking back when there were still rounds in the mag. I replaced the plunger tube spring with a WC and the issue went away. I want to get a raider.
I've watched several reviews on the Tisas Raider and they've ALL reported this clone to be outstanding in every way . I like your silver w/ Blk accent and Beautiful rosewood panels ❤. SO ACCURATE 😳🎯
Just fired mine. Two failure to feeds first two mags. Plunger spring is WEAK. I have a Wison Combat spring in bound; i bet thats the issue.. BTW, Force Recon Plt/CO still uses them. Marsoc switched to the Glock.
I might buy one of those Stainless Steel Tisas duties for my first 1911. I want to get something cheap and replace the internals over time to really learn the platform.
I own a Tisas Raider , Nightstalker and the GI Spec 1911A1WG. All of these have performed far above their humble price point. Im not going to draw comparisons to the Colt M45A1, I've never fired one. I can however say it outshines its Girsan counterpart in every way imagineable. Tisas has in fact built a wall around Girsan as a whole , as far as I'm concerned.
I have a Tisas in 9mm the first time I shot it at 20 yards I shot 18 shots in a 2 inch bull I was very impressed I have stage 4 cancer took a nasty fall and broke both my wrist so this is Gods work or my shooting is getting better. Trust me these guns shoot very good DD

I have not had any issues shooting ball ammo out of it. It don’t plan on carrying it or using it for home defense so I haven’t shot hollow points out of it yet.
I heard about the recall. They said that the hammer can follow when clambering a round but being pretty knowledgeable about 1911’s I am not concerned about that. I am not sending mine in. I think I will make a video on this.
@wyominggunproject thanks for the reply, yeah I hear ya, I'm not concerned much either, but, I'd be even less concerned if I knew the source of the issue. I'm thinking gotta be tolerance somewhere vs side return vibration.
@wyominggunproject hey there, update here. So I went down to my safe and like I do now and again wipe down my handguns. I got to the Raider, racked it, let the slide release return the slide, and son of a batch on the third slide release the hammer followed the slide back! I continued maybe 8 more times and 3 additional times the hammer followed the slide back. 😬🫨. Now the hammer did stop at the half cocked safety position but wow, that ain't right. I've got so many hand guns, I won't miss this one for a month or so.... mine is going back.
I get it man. If mine does it I will just bend the sear spring down to put more tension on the sear. Thats what is causing the issue. Short of the hammer hooks being broken.
@@joewest2560Update. I dropped the slide on both my Night Stalker and my Raider which were both on the list and neither had hammer follow. SDS is covering their a$$ and I get it. 🤠

I have a similar Tisas Stingray with Novak sights and just installed Night Fision tritium sights on it. The rear sight was easy with a pusher. The front sight, once I removed the pin took extensive work with a cheap Amazon diamond hand file to the bottom to get it to fit. Tight is better that sloppy. It was a good improvement on a great pistol. You can do it!
Ok. Its a free country. I have five Colt 1911’s and TISAS makes a better product mostly because of Colt’s terrible Quality Control and I love Colt. I wouldn’t have bought five of them if I didn’t love Colt. But I have to be honest on this channel. Thanks for the comment man. 🤠
You repeatedly say the Tisas triggers are so much better than Colt triggers. You make no mention of series 70 or series 80. So how about comparing apples to apples?
Your safety is ATROCIOUS! You didn't rack the slide to visually acertain that the weapon was unloaded. You did drop the hammer around 5½ to 6 minutes in however. This after placing your hand in front of the muzzle repeatedly...
Capt Nuts! Make your own content and you can check pistols over and over again to make sure …. Yep still unloaded. LOL!!! 😂 😅 Please be Respectful on other peoples Channels, as you are a Guest! All of us check and double check before we start filming! Got it! Good. ⛄️🎄🇺🇸👍 B9USA Sr.
You sir are the fool. You have no basis for this comment. You have obviously never fired or even held a TISAS product so you don’t know what you are talking about. BTW I own five Colt 1911’s and nine Tisas 1911’s. Colts are riddled with QC issues and cast or MIM parts and plastic mainspring housings. The Tisas pistols are all forged parts. I’m agree sir and I have a lot of Glocks too so get it. 🤣
Yea no, I’ll stick with my colt
Ok. Its a free country. I have five Colt 1911’s and TISAS makes a better product mostly because of Colt’s terrible Quality Control and I love Colt. I wouldn’t have bought five of them if I didn’t love Colt. But I have to be honest on this channel. Thanks for the comment man. 🤠
My issue is the finish. Soon as they get ANY wear they look like cheap pieces of shit.
Why? They use the same CERAKOTE finishes that all the major manufacturers use.
It's a nice gun but I still think Colt is better quality I have colts
You repeatedly say the Tisas triggers are so much better than Colt triggers. You make no mention of series 70 or series 80. So how about comparing apples to apples?
Your safety is ATROCIOUS! You didn't rack the slide to visually acertain that the weapon was unloaded. You did drop the hammer around 5½ to 6 minutes in however. This after placing your hand in front of the muzzle repeatedly...
You’re a moron. You mean I didn’t rack the slide to show you. Who the FUCK are you? You are a fucking NPC and I don’t owe you shit FUCKFACE.
Capt Nuts! Make your own content and you can check pistols over and over again to make sure …. Yep still unloaded.
LOL!!! 😂 😅 Please be Respectful on other peoples Channels, as you are a Guest! All of us check and double check before we start filming! Got it! Good. ⛄️🎄🇺🇸👍

Well said Sir. These potato heads sit on the sidelines and criticize but are too scared to enter the arena like a man.
Thanks for the review. I have a d10 and am eyeing the Yukon. Can’t beat Tisas guns!
If you think this is a good as a colt your a fool! Wouldn't trust your judgment.
Stay tuned for your own video on this subject Choad.
Does it reliably feed hollow points?
Other people’s videos show that it doesn’t feed hollow points reliably.
@Wyoming Gun Project: Can I email you?
Sure. Hit me up man. 👍🏻mattstingray2019@gmail.com
I own a Tisas Raider. FAR better quality than any Colt I’ve owned.
This is so true and people who have never shot one just wont understand 🤠
