I mean yeah them driving a modernized vehicle may seem bizarre for ol' chaps but their gadgetry and the stuff they have made throughout the years looked WAY more advanced compared to our time period usage's and it's somewhat surprising he hasn't tried to show off his inventions to become a fairly wealthy to globally important person though he can be in debt at times one of them should make him get out of it. They could have done this commercial for a british car but MG/Rover went bankrupt and now every british car brands are luxury cars (Aston Martin and Jaguar making a minivan ?)
Unfortunately, the Renault Kangoo as well as other Renault private cars and commercial vehicles are not famous and have a bad reputation in Hong Kong. This is caused by the poor after sales support in Hong Kong.
The only non-British car I could see W&G driving is a 1957 Oldsmobile, and that only because its' grille forms a mouth shaped like an Aardman character.
Even 5 years later, even if the series is discontinued. Wallace and Gromit are still the leaders and influencers of stop motion.
