I've always noticed something quite interesting about very particular British men. The ability to talk about something where it comes out so smooth and so real. Without even trying, just being yourself and true to your heritage but also open minded and wont take shit from people. Will even step in and say the things that need to be said but said in a way where it lures you in to what their saying. Great take on Chappelles skit here. I hardly consider it comedy at this point. Mans a fucking poet and a prophet of our time.
Cool reaction, great analysis, especially on cancelling and self-censorship. Chappelle is a genius. To me, there's Burr and him. One remark: there's nothing inconsistent about being right-wing and black, though.
Jewish or not, NOBODY should be persecuted for their religion, but as pointed out... humans are not always good people. On a brightside, loved this reaction and commentary
As someone who is Jewish, much of what you said resonated with me; particularly with regard to the vocal minority claiming offence as this is often the case with links of antisemitism and cancel culture. However... regarding being proud that we have significant influence over the media, politics, legal systems, banks, corporate world despite there only being 15 millions jews on the planet: While this is empowering at first, these professions are not inherently trustworthy and ethical, known for being corrupt, and for the most part embracing these stereotypes has perpetuated violence and distrust toward all jews around the world. (Both from the Left and the Right) In this sense, I can understand why people are weary of perpetuating these stereotypes. And also why I find it oddly comforting knowing that there are powerful, though undoubtedly corrupt, people who stick up for antisemetic rhetoric which has caused my community harm.
As a guy who literally found out he was part Jewish a year ago, the way I look at it is, if someone wants to hate on Jewish people as an entire race, as long as they’re not being violent or standing in anyone’s way literally or metaphorically, more knish, kreplach, smoked meat sandwiches with hot mustard on caraway rye and matzo ball soup for me. Anyone who’s so racist that they’re eating at McDonald’s or some greasy diner has to be miserable. I’ll just wave at them and smile from inside a kosher deli.
@WatchEuropaTheLastBattle ahahahaha case and point!! grow up mate. spreading antisemetic messaging is old, laughable and cringe. That is the other thing: Imagine the very idea of your existence being enough to cause hatred in another. Now THAT is empowering.
Great point about "these professions are not inherently trustworthy and ethical." I never thought about it that way. I also never hated any group of people based on their color/ethnicity etc. When I was a kid in the 80s, businessmen were portrayed as slimy cutthroats along with lawyers and politicians. I don't know when but that changed at some point.
"15 million jews on the planet" not according to the Bible and God you claim to have a connection too (from the Old Testament which majority of jewish believe in) Hosea 1:10 Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God

Please define cancelled because all it seems to be is private companies in a free marketplace not wanting to employ certain people due to potential damage to their bottom line.
I’m not a giant right wing capitalist, but I agree with you. All these ignorant pseudo libertarians are acting like their rights are under attack because a private company doesn’t want certain language on their platform. They own the platform. If you want free speech in social media, make it a public utility regulated by the 1st Amendment. You can’t slander people, but otherwise say what you want. But if it’s a private thing, they can enforce whatever rules they want. These idiots don’t understand how a free market works and they’re crying about their “rights.” You’re only protected on what you say about the government. They can’t come after you for attacking them verbally. But if you’re saying it on social media, legally speaking, Zuckerberg and Musk can ban you. It’s their world.
I would argue it’s the opposite. Cancelling Kanye lost them a lot of money. What happened was pressure from powerful people, not a market. I’m cool with it either way. I just look at it a little different.

0:55 SNL has long history of creating new comedy stars since 1975, but in past couple decades slipped into political correctness cesspool without good comedy. Yes it's shit and definitely not as popular as used to be. If they keep hiring legends like Chappelle or Burr, it might be good again at some stage.
Herschel Walker was a football player...you have to wonder how many concussions he's had. the only reason he got as far as he did is because of how corrupt the Democrat who he was running against was.

Watching you two reacting to American pop culture reminds me that the average foreigners probably knows more about America than the average American 🤣🤣🤣 Great reaction
@@inttrovertedmonk851 Everyone knows "American pop culture" means US pop culture. Same reason when someone claims to be American they usually mean they're from the US. So I'm gonna ignore your ignorant semantics. Secondly, I lived in Europe and Africa my entire childhood then moved to the US when I was 10. I was one of the top students and even knew more about American history than 90% of the class. Believe me when I say typical Americans know very little about their own history
I’d recommend watching Ari Shaffir’s special “Jew”. Very funny and he explains a lot of the Jewish psyche. On your discussion, what I’d say is that there are essentially two seperate mindsets amongst Jews. One for the diaspora, one for Israelis. This traces back to there being two kinds of Jews - Sephardis (those who come from Southern European and Arab countries) and Ashkenazis (those who come from northern and Eastern Europe). Sephardis were untouched by the Holocaust for the most part. Whereas for Ashkenazis, notoriety for being wealthy/influential/powerful is a synonym for “at risk of extermination”. That’s why it’s important to understand the difference between racism and antisemitism. You won’t hear many Jews getting upset about people making jokes about Jewish physical characteristics…big noses, curly hair, short, unathletic etc. whereas in other forms of bigotry, degrading people because of their inherent physical characteristics is the definition of racism. Antisemtism isn’t “those jews are ugly with their big noses”. It’s “those jews are secretly controlling the government, are traitors and are working against you and I” because it’s those ideas that led to us getting killed all those times. In saying all that, I’m not saying any of this is off limit to comedians and I certainly had no issue with anything Chappelle said. But just so you get the Jewish psyche a bit - it’s those ideas that concern jews because every time in history we’ve been slaughtered in droves, it’s because a large part of the non-Jewish population somewhere believed that of us. Watch the special though - it’s fantastic.
When large swaths of Jews are in influential positions in government, banking, entertainment etc. and gentiles call it out, we see it as just fact. Whether or not Jews see it as anti-semitism or not, is inconsequential. A fact is a fact regardless of how you feel about it. This is no different to how most people in the world see the gender discussion. If a man gets surgery and has chest implants, cuts off his male appendage, and changes his name from David to Darlene, he's still a man. Whether or not he sees himself as a woman is of no consequence to people who dont buy into conventional western ideas of gender identity. What Jews can do is either embrace how the influential positions they hold in society are perceived and understand that not everyone who is aware of their upward mobility and voices it is doing it from a place of hatred and understand that much of it is coming from a place of admiration and respect.... or not, and draw more ire to themselves from those who mahbhave seen it that way from the beginning as is seemingly the case as of late. The blacks, particularly those in America, throw around the n word with eachother incessantly. A word that was used to dehumanize them for centuries. They've taken it and flipped it into a term of endearment. I live in NYC.I hear East Asians use it, South Asians use it, Arabs use it, Latinos use it all in the presence of peoplenof African descent. I've even seen seen blonde haired, white, clearly Germanic Anglo-Saxons men use it. Maybe not in the presence of the blacks but nevertheless....But the point is, the blacks seem to know know the difference between when someone is just trying to he malicious, and when it's not that deep. And lastly.....there are more than two different types of Jews. There are Iranian Jews, there are Indian Jews, there are North African Jews, apparently there are even some south of the Sahara. Jews were split into the 4 corners of the world. Not the two corners of Europe. Cheers. 🙂
firstly, there are only two “types of Jews” in Judaism. Jews live and have historically lived in many countries but that doesn’t mean they are a distinct grouping within the religion. For example, there are Sunni and shi’a muslims - if you’re a Muslim from Argentina does that make you not a Sunni or shi’a but rather an Argentinian Muslim? No. Not within the religion. The distinction between Sephardi and ashkenazi are not just where they historically lived - there are differences in practical aspects of how they practice the religion. Different prayers, different food restrictions etc. Secondly, your first statements said “when large swaths of Jews are in influential positions…and gentiles CALL IT OUT…” Why would you call out about the religious/ethnic heritage of one particular group? Why is that a thing? Call it out as what? If you can’t understand that the context around someone “calling out about the presence of Jews in influential positions” is inherently negative and never positive then let’s just agree to disagree and move on. People used to do this with Catholics in the US - not so much anymore but I’m sure it still exists. Like there was something inherently untrustworthy about them, divided loyalty etc. Why is it notable what religion these people are? Why would that need to be called out?
No, believe me, SNL is not really a big deal, and hasn't been for a long time. Proportionally very few people watch it, bit this was brilliant. I was reading today where many many Trans people were saying they thought the "controversy" was total BS basically manufactured by other people....

the myth of cancel culture is that it exists. there have always been complainers the difference now is they are organized and online. companies determine who gets cancelled by firing them but the proof that cancel culture isnt real is rush limbaugh and howard stern and tucker carlson lasted for years and the last two are still around
It’s not Howard Stern or Tucker Carlson that have to worry about cancel culture, which is very real. They could both be canceled tomorrow and would still have millions and probably have multiple job offers before the end of the day. Is the guy who repairs your car when it won’t run, and post a joke on Facebook, and then someone sees it and calls his boss to get him fired, that has to worry about cancel culture. It’s normal people just saying funny but offensive things that have to worry, because people think they have a right to not be offended by others. No one has that right. I don’t get to cancel people because I find things they say offensive. Wouldn’t if I could. It’s silly. Grow up. This isn’t about celebrities. That’s a weak cop out, when you know it’s ordinary people who suffer being canceled. And before you say it, no I don’t really care what anyone says. People should be able to say what they won’t as long as they aren’t directly inciting violence, or mayhem. And no words aren’t violence. No one is required to like you or anyone else, and they can dislike you for any reason at all.
Nobody can get someone fired. The boss can say, “Fuck off, this dude is funny, and a good mechanic.” Which happens. All the time, and it has been happening. It just doesn’t make the news. However, the boss, or company cares more about money than sticking up for their employees points of view, and they are, like most of us, easily replaceable. Most people sign a code of conduct agreement or something similar when they get hired, anyway. If people say “boycott this place because there is an employee sexually harassing employees, or they’re racist, or they’re acting like pedophiles, etc.,” they aren’t canceling anything. They’re boycotting. The owner can say “Fuck off, we like racists here,” and then the boycott doesn’t mean shit. All the racists go get their cars fixed there. But… that probably isn’t going to happen, because the times change, and blatant racism is more frowned upon by society. More people start boycotting. Money talks and bullshit walks. Times changing are what people are really upset about, not “canceling” people, or boycotts. The times are always going to change. Happened in 20’s, the 40’s, the 60’s, the 80’s all the way up to now, since the beginning of time. You can complain about it, everyone has. “We’re losing the country!” That has been said by every single generation since the country was founded. So, you can adapt and roll with the changes, or be mad about it. It’s still going to change. You might not be mad about the changes industrialization made, or the changes that rock n’ roll made, or any number of things, but you might be as mad as those people were back then. They were sure it would ruin everything. Time kept on moving on and it’s now a common part of our lives.

"A right-wing black guy.. Which is a weird clash" That's the racism of the left. I'm sorry, but it is. Y'all love to pigeon-hole entire races. The political leaning of blacks is just like whites. Lots of ex-military out here. The blacks are conservative. It's not a clash.. Most people don't come out of the military as liberals. Yes. Most blacks vote Democrat. The vast majority.. But it's not an insignificant minority on the other side. 16% conservative isn't exactly "weird" or "unusual". 16% is nearly two million humans.. I'm being asked to use pronouns for 0.01% of the population. Quit dismissing 16% as a "weird clash"

SNL is a big deal today in the same way the Royal Family is a big deal today.
It's the oldest running tv show in history. Or at least one of them
Russia was never losing to Ukraine

I'm in UK and never seen SNL except from occasional clips from the old days. Even this standup piece didn't make me smile, so either not my thing or not a British thing, I'm not sure.
It's you, I'm British and Chappelle is the GOAT in my opinion
It’s you buddy.
"It's not my thing".
SNL is an American cultural expression. You need to know American society to appreciate this piece from Dave Chapelle.

Kyrie Irving is basketball 🏀 player in Brooklyn nets
Dave Chappelle is cool.
His supporters outnumber the naysayers.
The difference between malice and jokes is not hard to recognize.
Malice isn't funny and those kind of comedians have their own like minded following.
How about reacting to
SNL alum,
Adam Sandler doing his Hanukkah Song on the Weekend Update segment.

I grew up watching SNL, most people have in this country. But SNL SUUUUUUCKS now! Its SO bad cus the show became SUPER "woke" and its not funny AT ALL. They try harder to virtue signal than they do to be funny. Its sad what happened to that show.
