The best thing I saw was definitely the scratch-built studio scale blockade runner from Star Wars. I talked to the builder, very nice gentleman from CA. He paid for a second plane ticket just for his model! Also enjoyed the ILM diorama, down to the details of the old Hasegawa model kits which were used for kitbashed greeblies.
Sr-71 has been one of my loves since I built the kit when it hit the market. I never got around to bashing a single seat fighter version of it… Love the “Come and make it” flag. Very Texan.
Thanks for giving us a look at all the great work. I couldn't make it down this year. Glad Squadron made the show, I miss having them close. So much eye candy! Thanks.
Great stuff Boyd. We are having the Model -Palooza here in Florida at Tampa October 13 - 15. I am hoping to go there. Yours looked like fun. I need to hit the lottery so I can go to all the great model show events across the country. Thanks for the Video Boyd. Looking forward to see more of you back up on UA-cam land soon.
Wonderful show! First time I'd ever gone to one of these. Best part? Got to shake the hand of the great TrekWorks himself. I am now the proud possessor of a marvelous shot of your magnificent mug. Don't be surprised if you show up on the wall of my set. Now, did you manage to meet the person responsible for all ten feet of that Saturn stack? I'd like to meet that guy for sure.
The Eagle Transporters were well done I thought, a nice Cylon Base Star too, and I really liked a lot of the German and Soviet armour. Great update Boyd, thank you.
Thanks Boyd. Some really great models. Must admit, difficult to tell from the video, but at a guess from what I could see, the whole event looks to be about 1/3 or less the size of the IPMS UK "Scale Model World" 2-day show in Telford, England that happens every November...????? That show is very roughly 2½ aircraft-hanger-sized halls of model clubs and traders and competition..... If you ever make it across the pond for that one, let me know, and I'll buy you dinner!
From what I've seen over the years, the modeling hobby is still very popular in the UK. Most of the UK based UA-cam channels have large followings. Probably only second to Japan.
Yes, there was some very good work on display. I typically gravitate towards military and automobiles. But I also really enjoyed the figures. Additionally, some of the dioramas were crazy cool.
Some spectacular models at the show! Which are your favorites? Comment below.
My favorites were not in your video 👎🏻

Blockade Runner was a stand out- incredible detail! Really a lot of nice models in the show!
It's a stunner. It was completely scratch built and used detail parts from Bandai SW kits for greeblies.
That’s my ILM diorama at 10:30. Thanks for checking it out. I wish could have had a chance to shake your hand. I’ve learned a lot from you.
You did an awesome job on it! It was the talk of the show.
it was so, so, so awesome! the leopold box in the trash was my favorite touch!
Thanks for the tour Boyd! There were lots of great builds there. I think I speak for everyone when I say we miss your videos.
I built the Voyager that pops up around the 24 minute mark. Man would have been super cool to meet you!
Beautiful build, I did get to meet and talk with quite a few folks. It was a great time.
@@TrekWorks means a lot coming from you thank you
Wish I live closer I'm an Iowa I haven't been to It event like this since I was a kid
I had to do a double take I didn't see voyager excellent build sir
@@aaronvandoorn1276 this was my second one. I was lucky it was within driving distance

I saw the awards announcement and was more impressed with some of the models shown here.
Awesome looking model work!
Great coverage Boyd. I went Thursday. It was a Great show.
I couldn't get there till Saturday, sorry I missed you Mike. Yes it was an awesome show! They have the awards ceremony posted on youtube now.

Thank you Boyd. Really amazing models in here. I joined IPMS Boise chapter two months ago. Great bunch of guys.
Thanks for sharing the show with us all my friend! I will give you a jingle later this coming week since i cut us short again last time we spoke. 🖖

Really cool models.
Great to see you back Boyd. It's been awhile 👍🙏
Nice show footage, thanks for sharing Boyd😊
I think my favorite was the blockade runner followed by the " Evinrude looking" boat car (or is it a car boat)?
The Eagle Transporters were well done I thought, a nice Cylon Base Star too, and I really liked a lot of the German and Soviet armour. Great update Boyd, thank you.

@@TrekWorks😅✌✌💥very good video 🛫🛫 Mery new year2024🎉🎉i from chile😎🙏✌
I forgot to mention the collections and scratch builds. Impressive. The one collection of B-17s... I would be proud to complete one as good. :)

Enjoyed!! 👍👍
I wish I had known about this, I live in new braunfels TX
Awesome video
Tons of amazing models there, but my favorite is the War Rig. I really need to get myself a 3D printer so I can make myself one of those.
That model is from the files available over at Gamebody. It was very well done with ton's of details.
Thanks for sharing. Nice turnout. Was this only a show or were people selling their models? This was all plastic or 3D printed - no diecast?
These are all scale models from either built from kits or scratch built.
Amazing!
So far not a single ipms coverage video had had more than a minute of automotive, and that 1 minute was mostly motorcycles and trucks.
....КЛААААСССС!...СОБЫТИЕ!.....
....мноооожество блестящих работ!....
Not the nats!😳
Jman
did you bring any of your work?
No, just went to the show to hangout.
@@TrekWorks At first I thought the !;350 TOS Polar Lights Enterprise was one of yours, but then I notice it was a DIFFERENT San Antonio modeler.
@@maximilian3004 Yes, I spoke to him briefly. He did a great job on it and got 2nd place in the class.
@@maximilian3004 LOL. I thought the same thing. "Boyd's here!"
could you please next time spend a bit more time on each model, footage is very blurred
Next time still photos please. Video is too blurry and it's hard to appreciate the models.
there should be plenty of photos around. i know fine scale modeler was there snapping pix.
