I know exactly what you mean. It's a hobby, but it's a talent. You are very talented. And wanting to grow and go far with it is completely understandable. You are very talented. Loved your explanations on everything. Great video.
Another reassuring vlog as I continue with my new 4yr old. He gets sweaty when we travel and he doesn't particularly like me getting on but these are things which will change with time. I haven't tackled grids yet, just doing poles and small jumps, so it was good to see that grids wasn't too much for a baby pony
Great vlog as always Em!!😍 Awwww bless Addie, seeing how green and scared of the grid at the beginning she was, to how she quickly got the hang of it was just brilliant. You are such a great rider hun and perfect to give a baby the confidence she needs to grow and understand what she needs to do. I know you are going to go far together thats for sure! Good luck at Bicton with "Speedy Spritey" Em, I'm sure you will do great! Take care hun, 😘❤
Addie is such a sweetie. I love doing grid work and am lucky to have found a great coach that does brilliant grids for our lessons we have come along so much. looking forward to your new pony and old pony adventures
Loved your chatty intro, your excitement is just so fun. Baby pony did an awesome job with the grids, she really is a little sweetheart ❤ Cannot wait to see Spritey out and about again. Great vlog xxx
Honestly your transparency is greatly appreciated and refreshing. Having horses, especially youngsters is never plain sailing. It would have been so easy to not include the ‘sticky’ parts. But then how will you have a comparison in the future? I used to be so embarrassed about anyone filming me when I first got my mare but now I kick myself as I would love to see the transformation throughout time. Addie is just awesome.
Have to say I've never heard of it being bad luck to change a horses name. You learn something new every day. However I don't think you need to explain it again. Bless you lol. X
Well done Emily and Addie. I love how excited you are again Em, you have your spark back. I love seeing how you are both progressing. Forging a partnership takes time and you are both doing so well. It’ll be great to see the girls in the field together. Hopefully that will happen soon. Good luck at Bicton. Lots of love Lesley xx
Good for you! It is hard not to plan for the future but you are right it takes the pressure off and you can see where your partnership goes!!! You do so well with her, and I must say your place is so organized and clean, my OCD loves it😁. Oh and Nala is the cutest!!!
Well done Emily your doing fabulous with her she's a special girl x looking forward to sprites vlog x its lovely to see you enjoying you horses again x
Emily your a cracking little rider and you will only get better, Ady is such a sweetheart and clever pony a baby she is so plenty of time you’ll both do great and make a great team. Fred is a fab teacher he’ll guide you well.tfs😎🏇😎
I totally get what you mean Emily I've a youngster too he's an ex racer called Kevin 3 years old. He's my first horse and my forever horse as I left it late in life to get him. I'm going to see where things go I'd love to jump and event one day but if it's not in the cards that's fine, I will just enjoy him. Enjoy addy she's amazing.x
Yay baby pony vlog 🥰 i think you will be an amazing team Em, and can't wait to see your relationship develop! I'm sure Spritey will come.around once she has made it clear who owns the place 😆 Hope Lola is enjoying life with her new owner as much as Addie is, im looking forward to seeing how u bring her on, these types of vlogs can be so informative to watch xx
And as for the bad luck being for the rider, I would also agree 100%. He threw me three times in one day at a show I needed to at least participate in and look competent to qualify for a bigger show. He also threw me a bunch of other times so I have had to scratch from classes, I have hurt my back a few times, and I often had to walk back to the barn after falling in the middle of a class at a show which I called the "walk of shame".
Addie is suchba cutie and very responsive. I can see a great partnership growing between you both. You are a great rider and loved watching this vlog ❤
I mentioned to a vet about changing the name of a new horse, the look on his face was hilarious 😂 i swear he wanted to slowly back out of the barn! I hadn’t heard the superstition either.
May I ask what Lola was not providing for your goals? You seemed really great together. I'm asking respectfully because I missed the vlog about your decision.
I also have heard that it was bad luck to change the name. Addie is a nice name and it suits her as she is a sweet horse. She is a wonderful jumper...she has such a free way of moving. You will have lots of fun with her!!
It isn't bad luck t change a Horses name, I know of a Horse whose name was changed twice, and it went onto win an Olympic Gold Medal and individual title at the World Equestrian Games in Eventing.
Thats hilarious.. i've re named all of my horses and never had any problems! but most of them have come from Argentina where they are mainly named after their colouring :D
Ok super work but discipline. Keep her in shape and always sit behind her as she’s proved her get out method is a sharp refusal. Get behind her shoulder and never on the forehand. But what a girl. She’s going to be great.
I love your little buckskin already!! She’s so smart! Can’t wait to see her progress with you Em! How did you like the bit? I have a mare that recently started pulling on me again, considering a bit change, would you recommend the one you tried with Addie?? Again, congratulations! Love from California⛰🌲☀️💙
Yeah !!!! I will buy Lola Stable plaque !!! How much do you want !!! We would like to see lola is ok!! in her new home !!!!Coz we got to love her as well !!! I have a Lola !!! Well done Addie !!!
Don't worry, most of us understand what you mean- yes it's a hobby, but it is a hobby that also has skill & competitive elements to it. Many of us whom enjoy increasing the skill element, also tend to enjoy & want to be successful in the competitive element as well, which by default becomes so much easier, enjoyable & safer if the horse is built & supported through training to be both physically & mentally inclined to cope with whatever discipline it is we are doing. You & Addie/Addy? did great, she uses her front end really well over fences & looks like she'll have a lot of scope in the future.
I think changing a horses name is bad luck. My horse was terrible for a year after we got him and I changed his name, but he's perfect now. It could also be because I have learned a lot since then but better safe than sorry. Also, your horse and I have the same name so, although I am biased, I think she has a cool name.
It's not actually bad luck to change a Horses name, World and Olympic Champion Blyth Tait's Horse Reddy Teddy wasn't originally called Reddy Teddy. His racing name was Striking Back, he wasn't any good as a racehorse and was then sold to a young rider who changed it to Last Chance. Blyth Tait's Father bought the Horse, shipped it to Blyth in England, it was Blyths Father who named him Reddy Teddy. Blyth won a World Championship and Olympic individual Titile with Reddy Teddy.
@@emdeventing Also, when Reddy Teddy won the Individual Gold Medal at the 1996 Olympics, he was only 8 years old. He went from Novice to the Olympics in 18 Months!!
I'm not picky on the name change thing but I so try to not change it to much. I.e. we already had an angel so change it to Angie or Rosie and Roxy things like that. For addie I'd probably go Ally
Would not that kind of bit being rounded be more hard on her mouth as the bend on it wouldn’t sit flat on the bars of her mouth hence putting more pressure nearer the side of her gums. Just thinking what it may look like and work in her mouth. I could be wrong .😁
Have to say my friend changed her ponies name and he broke his neck a month later and another friend had another horrible accident! I’m not superstitious but never risking it!
Confess that I changed my horse's name. He didn't know his name and I didn't like it. He was Diesel and now he is Beau. If he had known his name, wouldn't have changed it. So fingers crossed 🤞, that isn't the cause of any bad luck.
Well done Emily. I changed my horses name and have had two years of vet bills and health worries. He’s still not right. I just couldn’t stand the name Ken ( sorry all Ken’s out there).
I know exactly what you mean. It's a hobby, but it's a talent. You are very talented. And wanting to grow and go far with it is completely understandable. You are very talented. Loved your explanations on everything. Great video.
What an unreal horse! You can see the potential and I recon you suit each other perfectly
Loved this Emily. Addie is so beautiful. We use the “Myler Comfort bits” on our mares and they have worked well for us.x
i’m selling one of these if anyone needs one😉
Another reassuring vlog as I continue with my new 4yr old. He gets sweaty when we travel and he doesn't particularly like me getting on but these are things which will change with time. Such a clever baby pony. Just want to give her endless cuddles for being such a good girl 🥰🥰🥰

Addie did really good looks like she has a really honest and genuine ability for jumping you look like you had fun so well done to both of you
Well done Addie it is nice to see you smiling love to you and your horses xx

Addie is coming along nicely and you can see the improvement on each ride you have. Can’t wait for the Spritey Bicton Vlog xx
Brilliant job with Addie Em! She is looking good and has a nice jump on her. I can’t wait to see how you get on in the future. 💜

Omg, she has the best jump! She is going to grow into such a nice horse!! Excited for you both!

She seems to be a really quick learner and what a cracking jump she has! She’s going to be lovely 😊
You and Addie are doing so well as a partnership really enjoyed watching as always and hello to mummy D done a fantastic job filming your lesson.
Her rhythm was really good. That's a good sign for the future.
Your both doing so well can’t wait to watch you flourish with your riding journey good luck!☺️

Addie did so well in the grid, good girl! 🌟💗
Mum is a quiet expert i can hear ;)
May I ask what Lola was not providing for your goals? You seemed really great together. I'm asking respectfully because I missed the vlog about your decision.
Fab lesson, she will be something special soon! Especially in your very capable hands, well done Emily and Addie 😁
Addie is so cute, Spritey is the queen of home, she has right to show it 😂 you are taking such a good care of both of them 😊
lol, I know what you mean, it's a passionate hobby, that I don't take too seriously but I want to be perfect at it! Love the vids :)

the fall color-equi light looks lovely too btw :)
Very interesting to watch I love your mum coming along Nala seams to have made friends with Addy xx

maybe you could call her Aya. . that's kinda a contraction of Addie!!! hahaha
I love your little buckskin already!! She’s so smart! Can’t wait to see her progress with you Em! How did you like the bit? Clever baby 😍 she’s going to have a fab jump!
You done well Emily and Addie it's takes time

Good video Emily
Any update on Miss Lola ? ❤️ Xx
I changed mine to
~*Vincenzo Peter Rebel*~
😭
How did u get her to be in an outline?
Didn't she do well jumping. What a clever girl.
💕❤️🤗😘
Have to say my friend changed her ponies name and he broke his neck a month later and another friend had another horrible accident! I’m not superstitious but never risking it!
Do you know the distances between this please 😊
😀❤️👍
Confess that I changed my horse's name. He didn't know his name and I didn't like it. He was Diesel and now he is Beau. If he had known his name, wouldn't have changed it. So fingers crossed 🤞, that isn't the cause of any bad luck.
:) :) :)
Why not make Addy’s new show name AddynoMianoAddy xxx
She a gorgeous girl
Well done Emily. I changed my horses name and have had two years of vet bills and health worries. He’s still not right. I just couldn’t stand the name Ken ( sorry all Ken’s out there).
👋 x
Anyone else trying to figure out if Addie is sooty or not?
After changing my second pony's name and him terrorising me for two years, I think it's good to keep her name lol
