Jolteon is way to underrated for what it does, and i am impressed it isn played more.
I understand its very flippy but, its just 2 energy and 4 coins, the odds and resource investment into are pretty good.
Hope people do more with it.

jolteon is basically just a mini zapdos ex. it's extremely good.
yeah, it misses out on some damage and hp, but it also benefits from not giving your opponent two points when it goes down, as well as only not needing as much energy investment to be threatening. jolteon is actually the better of the two in my opinion

I have a Eevee deck that is also beginner (FreeToPlay) friendly! I’m happy to share if you’d wanna like showcase it!
    2x Eevee, 1x Vapor/Jolt/Flare, 2x meowth, 1x Persian, 1x Doduo, 1x Dodrio, 2x X Speed, 2x P.Oak, 2x Pokeball, 2x Potions, x1 Sabrina, x1 Giovanni
(The spare Meowth can be swapped for an extra Trainer card.
And furthermore the trainer cards are more user preference, these are just what I noticed works best)
How to play! Try to lead with a Meowth or Doduo. Meowth attack to draw is amazing to finding your Eeveelutions. (Note NEVER PLAY BOTH Meowths! The spare is just to help start with 1) Doduo is fast and when evolved attacks for 1 colorless and retreats for free, making it amazing to tank hits and swap with.
Try to keep the Eevees on bench till you’re ready to evolve and attack. Using X-speed to retreat Eevee if you have to start the game with one before you draw a Meowth or Doduo is great tactic, you want to keep the Eevees alive at all cost!
The basic tactic here is draw draw draw, and only being able to use two Eevee, deciding which 2 evolutions you need for this battle.
Counters to this deck are ground types as Eevee and Meowth are weak. And Red Cards as this deck runs best with a big hand.
“Is being 3 energy deck hard to work with” -It can be a little, but you only need 1 of each type to use the Eeveelution types attack. (With the exception that Flareon burns its fire energy each attack)
I am a Eevee trainer at heart and loved making this deck and being the “first to make a Eevee deck” when everyone else thought it couldn’t be done with 2 Eevee. Really proud and happy at how well this deck works, and every card in here isn’t that rare or hard to get, the 3 eeveelutions are the hardest to get and they are cheap to buy with pack points. I win pretty often with this deck, pretty much the only loses are against the EX Meta decks that shouldn’t be in Beginner matchmaking to begin with. =P
Loving the videos on pocket tho! And hope you enjoy my deck if you try it!

I feel like if you do have Farfetch'd you're always better off playing him for the doduo line: he is faster and basically accomplishes the same function as Dodrio. That way you open more space for other cards, such as a second Sabrina, a second eevolution and maybe something else. I would also cut Persian (if you don't explicitly like it for thematic reasons) as it's quite bad and you could sub it out for another stage 1 evolutionary line of your choice. I like Jolteon the best, so if I were to build a budget friendly deck I'd do something like this:
      Eevee 2X
      Jolteon 2X
      Voltorb 2X
      Electrode 2X
      Farfetch'd 2X
      Prof Research 2X
      Poke Ball 2X
      Potion 1X
      X Speed 2X
      Sabrina 2X
      Giovanni 1X
The idea is being an hyper-aggro deck that plays hard hitting pokemons that don't require setup. You have Farfetch'd as an early game high damage dealer mon, the Voltorb line also hits quite hard (but you can quite easily sub it out for another mon), and Jolteon as your Finisher. Another thing that makes this type of deck quite solid, is that your cards have really low retreat costs, meaning X Speed is particularly good: if you have a full bench you can switch in and out of powerful attacks and navigate around your opponent's threats. I also like the 2 Sabrinas over the 2 potions, because your mons are quite squishy either way, so potions rarely change particular break points; Sabrina on the other hand can be used offensively to force some KO's, and defensively to avoid losing an important mon. Giovanni also helps with damage. Now, if you really wanted to play something like this and make it even better, I'd switch out the Voltorb line for Zapdos EX, and maybe add a second Potion and a Red Card

    • @ToskaCat
      @ToskaCat Місяць тому +2

@@circolodellinconcludenza4369 I started with Farfetch over Doduo but it dies to quickly, and I think it still cost 1 to retreat. Dodrio and Persian are mostly there to boost the HP and tank another turn, and it works pretty well. Also don’t sleep on Persian, the ability to make them discard from hand randomly can make people concede. But they are mostly there to just stall that 1 extra turn and power a Eevee. The only thing that’s really dead weight in the deck is pokeballs, if you get unlucky and draw your basics firsts.
But I’m always excited to see other people’s builds so I appreciate the input!

My first instinct for worst type would be dark, but it has muck, wheezing, koga, arbok, nidoking/queen, the worst type is definitely metal, I’ve play tested it a lot and have all the metal cards and they have good individual potential, but don’t have a good payoff or even a supporter, I hope the next pack get some representation for my metal bois 😢

    • @BrianSavoie-qw6iq
      @BrianSavoie-qw6iq 14 днів тому

Metal is definitely giving dark a run for it's money of worst type and it comes back too "tanking is useless while there's exes about" like we just keep coming back to the same thing. Yes every type has an ex, but it's really all about them and when it's three prizes your starting hand determines a vast majority
It's literally just Yugioh but the first player has to do the counter work instead of the second. That's not innovative, that's not nostalgic for older formats, that's not just a normal tcg simulator.
They just...literally chose the worst of all options

I love the Eevees so much, I've been trying out dual type eeveelution decks, I've got good success with Vaporeon + Jolteon and Flareon + Vaporeon, but i think i prefer the one with jolteon.
I'm also CRAVING for that Eevee illustration card, but i still have a few important cards that I'm lacking a second off, so I can't really just keep opening pikachu boosters trying to get it, might just craft it once i can to be honest.

Dumb question: where do you get the graphic that you use at the start of the video that shows all the cards and the number of each card included in the deck? Is that something in-game or an external tool?

  • @Belesprit656

Fighting is rough but even though it's kinda the same type rock or ground is probably the worst. Golem is really hard to get online, Onix is very commital, Rhydon just seems bad. For ground you have Sandslash and Marowak it feels like there aren't really other options? Marowak is coin flipping and Sandslash is okay but slightly underwhelming health and damage.

Right now I feel like metal and dragon might be bad typings due to not having quite as much deck/energy control like in the normal card game. Right now trying to get Nidorina as the last card I need for a minimum viable dark deck, where the others are doing well except for ofc metal, and not having any dragon.

Jolteon is basically marrowak ex but for big brains who realize the max damage is the same (hopes and prayers against an ex) but also better curves (more coin flips, more average damage as out of 4 coins one is gonna land on heads)
Which is a gambler's fallacy but that's why I do my Joey Wheeler voice and tell Jolteon "time roulette go!" Because all the meanwhile it supports Pikachu ex because there really isn't a lot of good electric to bench that don't require setup anyway (like Zapdos. Who could compromise an ex but you know... 3 energy and hurting your own bench)
This all comes back too they could've just left ex out of circulation. Just not have exes. I don't like any of my exes

  • @DKQuagmire

Midway point question about the worst type in the game.
Definitely Metal type. You got a Melmetal that takes 4 energy to attack, Bisharp, which is an alright attacker, and Mawile. And that's it!
Let's hope the next expansion actually gives us good steel types and a steel type ex card.
Using Brock onto an Onix turn 1 then evolving into Steelix, would go so hard!
