Manhunts like this, where the hunters can't figure out the twist for a long time and you eventually have to tell them close to the end, are why I feel like your manhunts should have hints built in. Like, for each of these mods, plugins, whatever you use, once you enter the nether that triggers a hint in chat (here it would be telling them the recipe for the block cutter). Once you enter the stronghold (or the end, whichever comes first in case you happen to not trigger the stronghold notification), it tells them more in-depth information, here it would be a list of all the blocks that can give them something (though not specifically what it gives them or what they do, since theyve had the whole manhunt to watch you and figure that out). Optionally, you could include a second hint upon first use of an eye of ender.
that's too easy it's not anyone's fault they can't figure it out they didn't even try most hunters are just slow when it comes to obvious things like the wool drops op loot video it took them so long to figure out something so simple, they didn't think about why boosfer had so much wool or why he collected it they just don't try to think about what the twist is. and most times hunters wouldn't know the twist even if it was right under their nose.
edit: and it's not like they have to know the twist it's not obligated for them to know which is why there are no hints if they want to do it, they figure it out themselves.
I think it could be funny if every time you hit the hunters they lose a piece of armour, and if they have no armour left, they start losing items randomly starting with the hot bar.

3:22 get cobble stone, smelt it in a furnace to get stone, smelt the stone in a furnace and it comes out as smooth stone. You can also obtain it from an armorer or toolsmith's, house (I forgot which one) with any pickaxe.

word of advice: next time you have a twist like this make it so the "twist tool" (the tool you need to craft for things to start going crazy) is either A: only craftable by you, with the hunters' attempts to do so having . . . dangerous consequences, or B: something that spawns in your inventory and can ONLY exist in your inventory
I feel like thats the point. like, the whole idea is to make it more intense, and making it a fair fight is one method to do that
