Thankyou very much for starting this channel. Much needed. May Allah SWT increase for you inshallah. Do you offer maqamat classes? For someone who is learning, is it better to learn like this or to listen to qari’s and mimic their tunes whilst recognising what maqamat they use?
Thank you Yes, I offer maqamat classes. I have it written in all my video descriptions. To arrange the lessons, contact me on Telegram: t.me/Abm9876 I'll tell you exactly what to do. Also, you can join my public Telegram group: t.me/AbuMahdi_Learn_Maqamat
Salaam, you know so much mashaAllah, but this is pitched too difficult for a beginner. For instance I have no idea about the Do Re Mi notes. I think if you repeated Aa Aa Aa Aa like 10 times at the start then it would be easier to follow. Otherwise your knowledge is amazing mashaAllah. Check out Imam Bakeers intro to Maqamaat series, he pitches that really well at a beginner level. Wish you all the success, love to see the content like this. Looking forward to more content
Wa alaykkum al-Salam. Yes, I did my best to make it as simple as possible. I only taught the first four notes of Maqam Bayati. I will try to make my videos easier to learn in the future. Thank you for your feedback. I have seen many of Imam Bakeer's videos. Unfortunately, he only specializes in the Murattal style. I know both Murattal and Mujawwad, but I'm focusing on Mujawwad for now.
My dad's originally Kurdish and my mom's originally from Bahrain. I was raised in the US. I know some Arabic, mostly I understand it and can read and write Arabic.
First of all, thank you for your comment. You have to pay attention that I'm teaching maqamat and recitation not the Quran itself. Maqamat are used to recite the Quran. This way of learning maqamat is the fundamental way but it is vocal not instrumental. There is no harm in learning the theory of maqamat as long as you're reciting the Quran while observing its etiquette with only your voice and not musical instruments.

You don't have to teach Quran like music.
