Girl you are so hard on yourself! We all have shame plants and that is what makes your channel so relatable. I have zero interest in seeing a cabinet full of rare exotics that I don't want and couldn't afford even if I did. I have a funny glasshouse made of plastic inside my house where I keep some jungle cacti because its warm and steamy and they love it. Buuut I also sprout my microgreens in there and use it as a hospice if the bathroom is too full. No such thing as a perfect plant parent. Love your videos
I found you earlier this week and even if it feels like you're always showing the difficult parts of being a plant parent, it honestly has made me feel SO much better about my journey as one and more confident to try new things when my plants aren't doing their best. Thank you for sharing!
You are a doctor plant. I think you are awesome. You are so high spirited even with the ones you save. I think that's a gift you have. You have a great energy especially with the dead plants you save. God Bless you. Keep up the high energy the plants hear you
Just found you on UA-cam recently and I must say that I really like you for being so funny, casual, sincere and kind! Thanks for the positive energy and sharing of the plant wisdom 🌱. Hope you're having a wonderful day🌄
Thank you for showing your little caodicks and plant mistakes and for being "real"! Also, great idea on the combining of the Monstera's! I have 2 big ones and four small. The four little ones I bought because they were on clearance (at separate times) for really cheep at Walmart. All needed desperately to be saved AND ALSO, a few even had moss poles in them. 😁 Now, I will be combining those four! What a good idea you had!
i have a feeling you’re right 😏 the struggle plants that prove themselves true survivors usually ultimately win my heart 😆 thanks so much for watching Lindsay!!!🥰💜💜💜✨
I just told my husband the same thing when he asked me why I don't just get a grow tent to keep all my plants in. I know he lowkey doesn't love having plants all over the house, but I told him that I have plants coz seeing them all the time makes me happy. So, having them hidden in a tent doesn't help me. I do have an ikea greenhouse cabinet where I keep all my small hoyas. Why? Because I have a toddler who likes to pull leaves. 😅
yes!! i love seeing other people’s beautiful grow tent plants and greenhouse cabinets but they’re just not my thing...but maybe if there are tiny humans doing unauthorized pruning in my house someday i will have to change my mind 😆 thanks so much for watching Donya!! 🥰💜💜✨
I have cats that like to eat leaves 😂 so to protect them and my plants, I got a little 5ft tall indoor greenhouse. It actually helps me to see my smaller succulents because they’re all laid out nicely under the grow lights so I can just admire them every time I walk by, but I also love to have nice hanging plants too! They just have to be hanging from the ceiling so my kitties don’t get them 😂
That ‘Dracaena’ is so tall!!! Is it very old? Also, what mess, the house looks fine! Lastly, loving the unstructured videos, I find em interesting, unpredictable, and most importantly, genuine. Thank you for sharing 💛
the snake isn’t that old! or at least I haven’t had it for that long, only about a year and a half, not sure how long it was growing at the nursery. Thanks so much for watching Angger!💜🥰💜💜 Back when we were in germany together was like the messiest i’ve ever been in my life so I guess from your perspective anything might seem clean in comparison hahah🤦♀️😂 xoxo!!!🤗

I think you genuinely just saved me money and plants, I don’t think I’d do well if I put my plants in a case like you said. I won’t bother now. Thank you.
So excited to see how the pot of Monsteras look once the leaves readjust! I honestly really love the look of it, just a ton of babies put together. I might have to do the same at some point!

I'm team essay but not today 😅😂. I love that you repot as needed and don't "wait for spring!" I'm the same and I'm yet to lose a plant. Thanks for the video.
i love that you had a different experience with your greenhouse cabinet than I did! i love mine because it keeps my plants safe from my cats or for rooting propagations or to rehab unhappy plants. but then there's other plants that I don't like having in there because I want them out on my desk so I can look at them every day. I got a 5" tall monstera when I found out I was preggers with my first son. It has 5 vines in it and the longest leaves were 3" long. It's been a year and I had to up pot twice. Both times there was LITERALLY no visible soil left. It had been so root bound I had to run a butter knife around the pot after letting it dehydrate. It was just unbelievable. I didn't do anything to the root ball and gave it a 2" larger than 1". I gave it lots of sun and when I went through PPD I don't think I watered it more than 3-5 times in a 6 month period. It's got some crispy edges from that episode but now it's around 3' tall and has inner fenestration. I think it's going to break the 4' mark by the end of next month. I really think monstera if given the choice will want light over water. It had a spot in the corner of east/south windows and is currently putting out somewhere around two leaves a month now that she's getting consistent water. My leaves never got stretched petioles like that. I know they say it's a good low light plant, but I truthfully don't think that's right at all. If you look at pictures you can see them climbing up trees and walls where there's a clearing in front of them a lot of times. These have been my personal findings. I have a 35+ year old vine that's currently fruiting indoors that just put out two new leaves. They're a tiny bit smaller than the old leaves but I think it's because energy is going to the fruit. It's one of my favorite plants. I know it's super common but there really isn't anything else like it. It's just perfect to me. If I had to choose one plant it would be the monstera. I might change my mind when I get my hands on a P. Maximum but who knows
I love the update! And i like that you show what plants don't do well... I am so sad I had some died on me this winter, and I had not noticed, because I thought it was "winter" but it was the gnats! ugh! I also like to rescue plants, that is a very good thing, and if we have it in our hart to nurture, why not do it, right? I love your channel
I really love your videos. Thank you for being so honest and real. Love your plant collection... working on mine too. It shows that you try to gather info about plants. The content is great and I enjoy listening to you. Hugs from Romania (far far away land :)))))))
Thank you for your comment on acclimating plants that traditionally require high humidity. I have a Calathea that continues to produce new leaves but eventually turn brown and crispy at the edge. I, too, have been stubborn and refused to purchase a humidifier. Do you ever share plant cuttings with your followers? I am in eastern NC and the Lowe's near me does not have unique plants 😢😩
ahh yes the brown edged calatheas...every single time 😈 i’ve come to accept it as part of the way they look lol. team stubborn!😅And yes, I am hoping to sell some plant propagations later this year!!😉💕✨
Thank you SO much for the great info, You are literally my favorite youtube friend/mentor. I'm going to try hoyas soon. What is your favorite? I'm really into sansevieria; I've started collecting a community of them. They remind me of my grandmother's on top of the radiator when I was little in the 70's. Your dog is too cute & thanks again. Especially for the bug eradication tips!
I feel the same way about the IKEA cabinets. While I totally understand why people get them, I’m just not interested in that and so far it’s been fine. I run a humidifier 8 hours a day through the winter and everything goes outside on my screened in porch all summer to enjoy the humidity. The only thing that struggles all winter are my succulents😂
Love the tour. Man I want a m. Aurea so bad! Your collection is awesome! Even the struggling ones. I don’t grow tent because I like to see my plants, but I have several glass cabinets but they are mostly orchids and anthuriums.
thanks Jennifer!😁💜💜💜 I appreciate you saying that about the struggle plants too 🥲🥰 i’m thinking I may need to move the vittariifolium into my orchid cabinet but we’ll see... I do think that cabinets can be beautiful 😍
I feel bad for those Monstera. Glad you repotted it, but If you don't want it, please give it to someone who will love it. I never knew that a Snake plant could get THAT tall, it's amazing!

wow thanks for recommending tyler’s guide, I had not seen it before. What an amazing and thorough resource!🤩 Thanks so much for watching and for sharing that info Jenifer!😃💜💜💜✨
Thank you for explaining the reason why plants rot if repotting above the soil line. I know how I killed my mini Ginny. Such an obvious reason to me now that you explained it! 🤓
I was thinking about the thick Monstera leaves! I noticed that when Monsteras are grown outdoors they do develop very thick and like hard leaves not sure if that’s what you meant but that was my initial thought!
my nepenthes is thanking you for this request haha!! I’ll definitely show that repot soon, thanks for asking. we can motivate each other 😄 so glad you liked the video, thanks for being so supportive always! 🥰💜💜✨
that wayettii looks like it might be too wet. it's very easy to overwater after repotting, especially these plants. my wayettii looooves to dry out until it's just BONE dry also, i can probably answer that speculation at 23:20 for you. you're right in assuming it's a growth hormone. nurseries use hormones that can either lengthen or shorten internode spaces. most often this is used to shorten them for bushier plants. the internode spaces get stunted, as do the petioles sometimes. it can also be used for growing cut flowers, though the long stems with single blooms are often also produced mechanically, by removing any side shoots the plant produces and forcing it to focus all its energy into the main stem and flower. this is used especially with chrysanthemums, as they grow very bushy if left to their natural growth pattern. also! 24:05 when i worked at the nursery, we'd actually intentionally make little indents on the root ball to damage some of the roots when repotting. this encourages the roots to branch off instead of producing just one long root that would just end up winding in the bottom of the pot really quickly.
I have a similar pot of juvenile monstera cutting that I rooted and put into one larger pot...I keep them upright with a tomato plant hoop from the garden center. A lot less trouble than trying to stake all of the stems and their sprawling crazy is a bit more contained.
Hi. Thanks for another great video. I'm with you on the cabinets, I don't like them, don't use them. I have a humidifier and just acclimate them to my environment. Have found some plants.. i.e. Ph. Brandi, Siltepecana, ferns I just can't grow and thats O.K.
Hey Deborah! Glad i’m not alone on the cabinets! my brandi is also always kinda sad but my siltepecana seems to do great with the ~50% humidity here in SF. I think i’ve come to terms with not being able to have some of the plants i’d really like but still need to try sometimes 😅 thanks for watching!!😊💜✨
I’m sorry to hear that about the mealybugs Jakub! I’m linking you to one of my instagram posts about mealies because it includes a long disclaimer 😅: instagram.com/reel/CGxjeaAgd00/? best of luck fighting off those pests and thanks so much for watching!! 💪💜✨
I’ve actually wanted a really tiny monstera bc I LOVE watching plants grow into bigger plants (even if it takes years, idc lol). But every time I go to a local plant store, they have giant monsteras😖
That’s weird about that Hoya wayetii, I had an australis that got the same funky stuff. The leaves would just shrivel up, and they even had the same strange markings as yours. I was fed up so I just tossed it 😪😩
I totally get the decision to toss it! I’m keeping mine socially distanced from all my other plants just in case it’s something weird...😖 thanks for watching Katie!!🥰💜✨
omg hahah i didn’t think anyone would notice😳!! I did take the pot out, just ended up editing out the footage of me doing it because I didn’t think you could tell it was a pot that fell in !!! ur so observant😝💜

also, i can probably answer that speculation at 23:20 for you. you're right in assuming it's a growth hormone. nurseries use hormones that can either lengthen or shorten internode spaces. most often this is used to shorten them for bushier plants. the internode spaces get stunted, as do the petioles sometimes. it can also be used for growing cut flowers, though the long stems with single blooms are often also produced mechanically, by removing any side shoots the plant produces and forcing it to focus all its energy into the main stem and flower. this is used especially with chrysanthemums, as they grow very bushy if left to their natural growth pattern.
also! 24:05 when i worked at the nursery, we'd actually intentionally make little indents on the root ball to damage some of the roots when repotting. this encourages the roots to branch off instead of producing just one long root that would just end up winding in the bottom of the pot really quickly.
Loooooove your Channel! ❤️❤️❤️
🥳 hooray!! thank you so much Jessica!!! 🥰💜💜💜✨
You have all those sunny windows , most of us don't I know I need lights to get through the winter
i consider myself very lucky for the light in this apartment! i chose this one for the windows :) thanks so much for watching jeanne 😊💜✨
The Palm has two new groths
What kind of snake plant is in the closet? Do they usually get that tall? Love it 😍
I forgot to ask- where did you buy the cool purple & teal lights?
I have a similar pot of juvenile monstera cutting that I rooted and put into one larger pot...I keep them upright with a tomato plant hoop from the garden center. A lot less trouble than trying to stake all of the stems and their sprawling crazy is a bit more contained.
Do you know where you got the pot you used to pot up all those Monsteras? It’s so pretty!
girl your furry pillow with the face is moving hah
If it helps, I grow a Brandi and ferns in 30% humidity! They just take some getting used to. You can do it!
Need help…. Love the video. I’m having major mealy bug outbreak. Both my large and small plants have been affected. Help!!!
But every time I go to a local plant store, they have giant monsteras😖
i like it
Nicely plant❤️💚☘️🍀done subs new friend here stay connected😍
🥰🥰💪💪
I would buy a little monstera from you 😊
That’s weird about that Hoya wayetii, I had an australis that got the same funky stuff.
@@reallybigplant mine had root rot when the leaves went like that 😬
What about the Hindu Rope? Didn't it make it?
Love your videos & how you always keep it real! Too much camera movement tho, make me kinda dizzy
Do you grow any veggies?
Please tell me you removed the pot that fell in at 23:51 😂
omg hahah i didn’t think anyone would notice😳!! I did take the pot out, just ended up editing out the footage of me doing it because I didn’t think you could tell it was a pot that fell in !!! ur so observant😝💜
Fungicide? whatever happened to that hoya ?
Hot Mess! Stop propagating, streamline ✌️❤️
