- This is my number one go to when I am feeling like I need a comfort blanket in a fountain pen writing session!

My comfort fountain pen is one that is comfortable to hold and writes smoothly. Also the pen I like the looks of. The most fitting is my Pelikan M205 in white and silver trim with EF nib for sure.
It's a Pilot Custom 74 in soft medium with FWP Autumn in Auburn for me. Something about that color reminds me of dirty yellow leaves in the fall, and that soft medium nib is so smooth and bouncy.
I knew it would be the Briolette! Ancient copper is my favorite for the season as well - it's amazing to write with it under the last warm lights of the autumn.
My comfort pen & ink combination is an equal tie between a calligraphic Sheaffer No-Nonsense (1.1 left hand italic) with Diamine ancient copper, or 97 special edition Rotring Artpen with J. Herbin lie de the, another favorite autumn ink.
My comfort is a Lamy 2000 in broad with Ancient Copper. The shading is so good.
Being more of a vintage pen guy, my comfort pens are vintage. First, my all-time favourite, very nostalgic for me, a grey Esterbrook J with the 2668 firm medium nib. Probably with my original ink, Sheaffer blue-black.
And can't forget my favourite gold nibbed pens, so a 1940s Wahl-Eversharp Skyline with 1940s, because it's my favourite ink, Parker Quink washable brown.
The first ink isn't exactly exciting. Just a pretty basic bluish grey like it's always been. First gotten because I wanted something besides the very common blues and blacks, and there wasn't a big selection when I got it in 1983.😁
The Quink is the perfect brown, IMO. Exactly what I envision the writing on a vintage document to look like, with some shading. And both are VERY well behaved for most types of paper. Even cheaper paper for students.
I love the ink colour.
My favourite is diamine royal blue ink paired with a 1950s parker slimfold
I have been trying to find the best fountain to write poetry with, and last year I bought a lamy safari. I accidentally made it a wetter writer, I didn't know they came with dry ink in the feed that needed washed out, so I razored the ink channel. It's a pen almost too small for me, but over the months and several pen tryouts, the lamy keeps out performing them. I nearly lost it last week and found myself genuinely sad about it. Now, after watching your cute video, I realize it has become my comfort pen. It is the terracotta safari, and I love autumn oak, but alternate with noodlers walnut and taccia benitsuchi which is my second favorite because it reminds me of tea, which is coincidentally how I came across your channel, looking for tea videos. I hope you have a lovely and fun weekend.
I have this same ink and pen, in a broad, and really enjoy them, too.
I’m going to think about this idea though of a “cozy combination” which really appeals to me since I enjoy all things cozy.
I, too, will explore this combination of coziness.
My go-to pen for comfort would definitely be my Benu Briolette Black & White in medium nib with Diamine Imperial Purple ink.
So good to see the Benu Briolette make another appearance. I also have this pen with a medium nib and I love it. My current favorite comfort pen is my Leonardo Momento Zero Arabian Nights limited edition with medium nib, which I bought after seeing you review it, I believe. My favorite inks are either Diamine Oxblood or Diamine Writer's Blood.
Hi, the small nib blues, however, that Benu is beautiful and that is well worth enduring the 'small nib blues' and the writing experience is heavenly. c:
I’m taking comfort writing with my Pilot E95S inked with Noodler’s Purple Heart, which leans red enough to match the burgundy barrel very well. Thank you for sharing your pen & ink, and book title!
I think my Pilot Decimo violet in medium with Van Dieman’s Blue Ringed Octopus is a definite any mood pen. But as far as cozy? That’s gotta be a sailor PGS in dragon palace with Diamine celadon cat.
My cozy warm comfort pen is a Visconti Rose Gold Medici with Platinum Pigment Brun Sepia that nicely compliments the rose gold without being to pink or too brown, it's a perfect blend, and it shades nicely.
I loved Legends & Lattes! I'm not sure that I've got one warm-hug pen. I am loving the pens I've gotten over the last few months. I've got a Benu Talisman Lavender and it's great. Also love my SchonDsgn full size, my Kaweco Sport in Bronze. And I just got a Momento Zero Rangoli (Jonathan Brooks resin exclusive to my local brick & mortar). They all give me warm fuzzies.
My comfort pen is any of my flex nib pens. I keep 3 pens inked at all times and one is always one of the 8 flex nib pens I own.
My Briolette is certainly one of my comfort pens. But my extra faves when I need to write are my Platinum Plumix and my Manuscript Trio. Inexpensive pens with the most marvellous stub nibs. They are alsp shorter pens but I have small hands so that doesn’t bother me.

I love my Benus! I have 2 and they're my most gorgeous pens by far and write well. I'm usually an EF girlie so a Benu F feels like a fire hose and sometimes I'm not ready for it lol
Recently, my go-to combos are my black Jinhao x159 in Noodler's Raven Black, and TWSBI AL 580 Prussian Blue in Diamine Prussian Blue. No fuss, super smooth, showcasing cursive with flare on the page. PS Hope to bump into you@ Scriptus this year, see you there.
I don't have a "comfort pen" but I'm currently using a Benu Minima Dragon's Blood with an F nib, filled with Edelstein Smoky Quartz ink, which is a dark brown ink, well suited to the muted colors of fall.
I also love my Briolette (in Storm) and it feels like a cozy pen to me because it’s the one I write with in bed 😊 currently inked with RO Fire & Ice 🔥 🧊
My comfort pen & ink are BENU Euphoria medium in Iced Caramel Latte with Robert Oster Cafe Crema. Next I’m going to try Private Reserve Infinity Brown ink, because needing comfort often means I’m staring into space or struggling for words, so an ink that resists drying out will be great.
Don't know if it counts as a warm hug but the 1911 Realo with Lie de thé just feels right and I find it hard to not use it even at work.

My current combo that brings me joy is Diplomat Excellence A+ Waves with Colorverse Coffee Break.
Absolutely love that shade of brown coming out from the nib and the pen pattern is mesmerising.
I am so boring -- my main cozy combo is Platinum Carbon Black in my TWSBI Eco in Cement Grey...and my runner-up is the same ink in my Opus 88 Jazz in Plain Black. I love all the different ink colors, but sometimes I just want to see plain, flat black ink on the page. I love how smooth and wet that ink and the JoWo nibs are. I love knowing the ink is waterproof, and I love the high ink capacity and chunky grip sections on those pens.
Admittedly, I love all Ecos and my Eco in Lilac with Poussiere de Lune is probably tied for third place -- but I don't always feeel like writing with such a dry ink. My other tie for third place is my Kaweco Brass Sport with Platinum Pigment Sepia Brown ink. I love that pen so much, and I find it comforting just to hold it in my hand. I think the ink combo works really well with it, too. It doesn't make it to first or second place for me because I sometimes don't feel like dealing with the metallic smell, it has a small ink capacity, and sometimes it's too heavy for me to write with comfortably for a long time (though other times I want that weight).
There are also a few inks I find cozy just on their own -- De Atramentis Document Dark Blue, De Atramentis Aubergine, Sailor Seiboku, Diamine Writer's Blood, and Diamine Kopi O Kaw.
I’m so glad you said that! I was thinking I was boring, too! My comfort pen is a Pilot Vanishing Point, matte black, EF with Platinum Carbon black. And I’m all about color (pink is my all time favorite pen color and ink color/pairing - it really makes me smile!)! It’s just the weirdest thing. I keep extra cartridges filled and with me as it brings me great anxiety to not have that pen available and inked. Maybe it’s because it’s more socially acceptable I’m a business setting but….I just love the whole experience.
@@rebeccadaniels7046 That sounds great! For me, it's purple and blue inks that I especially love, but I always go back to Platinum Carbon Black in plain black or gray pens. I'm actually planning on buying a Pilot Vanishing Point in matte black soon, but I'm going to get mine with a broad nib.

Love, love, love Ancient Copper. I keep it in my Diplomat Aero in orange...so satisfying. I've been thinking about a Benu but haven't jumped yet. They have some beautiful pens.

No Benus for me, I like plain colors like the red of my Pelkano jr , which is my comfort pen. The plastic body is just right, gives a little, and the nib is wet and reliable. I can't ask for anything more. Makes me wonder why I bought those pens that cost ten times as much. I have Noodler's Qin Shi Huang in it, the closest ink I have to that color of red.

I got my first Benu Briolette after they moved the company out of Moscow when the Russians invaded the Ukraine. My child, through no fault of her own, was born in Russia, so I wanted to get a pen made in Russia, and this was it. Now I have three of them, all different colors, all sparkly and impossible to ignore. The nibs are smooth, the pens are lightweight and fun to hold. Inking it with Monteverde Copper Noir might work well for you. It's got some space age goo added that lubes and protects and the color is grand. Thanks, as always, for your energy and good humor.
