Male dogs do not recognize that puppies are their offspring, although they will instinctively protect puppies that are part of their pack/household, especially if they see their humans caring for the puppies.

PSA: Do NOT put deadly rat bait out; even if it's in your garage. Rats don't die immediately where they eat the bait, and they can wind up in your yard, or your neighbor's yard. These "terrier" breeds will eat a rat; especially if it's still moving. My neighbor found out the hard way.
Some puppies calm down and others cried too much because of the colic. All the colic and crying makes me hungry and tired. I will settle down and wait for the foods to get here and wipe my eyes and my tears. I will relax until I feel better soon.

Its funny. The look all cute and calm, but the moment something triggers their instincts to bite someone, they refuse to let go until you "put them down". Its like a horse, they can be calm and friendly, but the moment they get spooked, they'll end up harming the people around them.
