None of the demos show the full procedure. The clips are very short. These facts make the video unconvincing.

I don't think the point of the video is to convince you.
      Instead it's to inform you.
If you want more information about anything depicted, you can easily and quickly search and research it yourself.

I can foresee a future where we 3d print or otherwise create "skin" for these robots that have continuous sensors embedded, sort of like what a touchscreen membrane represents on an iPad, but for greater pressure measurement range via a soft rubber layer under the sensor. This way any impact potentially anywhere on the robot can be "sensed" by it, and, say, stop what it's doing of it "knows" the baby is crawling on the floor and may have wandered under his legs, bumping one of them so its stops moving for safety. These will also accomplish what's shown here, allowing measured and controlled pressure contact with any surface, not just for judging the strength of grip but even for things like pressure against any object such as a light touch enabling the robot to hang a picture on the wall or limit any "lateral" pull when opening something like a cabinet door or drawer, since it needs to sense when its pulling off axis and limit the amount of that force to very little to avoid damaging the door / drawer, etc.
When you think of it, opening a drawer or door is among the more complex operations for a robot. It needs to figure out the correct motion (straight for a drawer, specific radius for a door) and sense when it is within tolerances matching those unique paths to apply force, since every door and drawer, in relation to where the robot is standing has a unique path to properly open it including how far above or below it's line of sight it is. It also needs to obviously judge the force to open it, as, for example, some drawers have soft close mechanisms, or heavier contents, requiring more force to open them initially, but gliding easily after initial opening. So it needs to make an initial judgement of the direction to pull and immediately upon it starting to move must continuously monitor the direction of pull by measuring resistance on all sides to detect when it is not pulling in the correct direction. It also needs to have a maximum force limit, so that in the rare case of a stuck door or drawer (object sticking catching it for example) it will not just proceed to destroy it.

Real cool to have tactile sensors on arms and chest.

Do you think that Tesla's Optimus humanoid robot will be able to read, write, reason, think, simulate emotions, feelings, have reflexes, senses, etc.

I believe that if a robot cannot tell if something is touching it, if there's a breeze blowing on it, if the breeze is extremely cold or hot, and/or if its legs or arm is all about to break then it's simply will not be effective or possibly safe in the real world.

But will they put UBI before 2030!? Many pioneers including billionaires, scientists, Nobel Prize winners, engineers, architects, analysts and so on and so forth... almost all agree on the fact that we will have AGI in 2027 and ASI in 2029 and they look and evaluating the exponential technological acceleration curve, I wonder why they have not yet implemented universal basic income to anticipate the trends that will come from it. Just to name one, Elon Musk says we will have AGI as early as 2025 and ASI 2029.

Outside the controlled space it will never work. Look up the science behind it and why autonomous cars will never take over. As you see in the video the robot learns patters and can’t really learn like a conscious being. If the situation will change just a bit, it won’t work. This thing will fall on your toddler because of a trillion of situations it is not trained on.

Weird grippers but OK. Might be good enough for simple taks but this wont use tools made for humans. Like everything toyota it falls behind everything tesla by by a decade.

Do you think that in 2035 with the advent of AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) and ASI (Super Artificial Intelligence) they will introduce universal basic income!? a subsidy!? there will be free will!? an era of abundance will begin!? the intellectual and motor capabilities of robots have already surpassed the average human and before 2035 there is talk of them surpassing those of any human and then again those of any human combined! regarding both body and mind! answer me please...
