Former pastor here. I grow up in the church, i've never heard of this idea before. The bible even says to confess your sins to each other as well. And to correct your brother when wrong. I'm no longer a believer, but this idea that they can deny their actions beause they prayed to god is a load of crap. Only a narcissist would latch on to this type of thinking.
Personally, it fits right in with what I see as a narcissistic obsession at the center of Christianity for many: the idea that Jesus died on the cross to save them personally.
@@AlanObrien-if4ie I think having to remain silent for over 40 years about what really goes on inside this institution takes years to process. Just got to say. There are literally thousands of different denominations. And within them denominations there are thousands of different churches. Some are similar and some are completely different.

I remember hearing leaders apologizing with something like, "Sorry, I was 'in the flesh'." Apparently, you can toggle between "The Flesh" and "The Spirit" depending on circumstances, LOL.
They were not in the flesh. That's a very Manichean thing, black and white thinking. The irony is that a lot of times, people without that extreme Manichean thinking and scrupulosity are less likely to end up 'sinning'.

Tmi.... im an escort, I occasionally meet up with a super famous pastor from Texas. 1 time he pissed me off because he 'accidentally' gave me less, he was reluctant to give me was he forgot to give me, so, I told him to give me the correct amount or I would expose him and he threatened to have me kXXXed. Ultimately he did sent it to me and blocked me afterwards.
Real life Dominatrix here (25+ yrs). I stopped taking on conservatives, religious,& wall st bros as subs. They got pissed when rules would be applied to them (no sex of any type, i am never naked, cumming is for home), they would steal if I left the room, and their hatred for women (especially their own wives) would come out. Ewww. Dont badmouth your wife to me). They overall were unethical and believed rules dare not apply to them. Yet they want to be spanked (otk) tied up and cross dressed. So much self hating homosexual & egg-ness. They couldn't accept themselves as it conflicted w their feelings/belief of being superior to others. I liked and subbed because of this vid.
Former Sunday School teacher, choir member, Vacation Bible School director, volunteer for any and everything the church had going on, and pastor’s daughter here. The church I grew up in was nothing like the church I left a few years ago. While I am no longer a believer, I am still heartsick at how Evangelicalism has forgotten the good teachings of Jesus and evolved into a malignant movement I don’t even recognize.
With all due respect. It sounds like you’re no longer a believer in the church? Were you ever a believer in Jesus Christ? When I say believer what I mean is this. Were you a follower of Christ/born again/spirit filled? Did you ever make a decision for Christ that changed the trajectory of your life? Or was it always about church and religion?
@ Philthefisherofmen yes, for the one millionth time I have been asked this question. I was completely “sold out for Jesus” as we used to say. With all due respect back to you, this is just about the most condescending thing you can ask an ex Christian. Please do me and others like me the courtesy of believing us when we say we were true, Bible believing, spirit filled, born again Christians. My journey out of faith has not been easy but has been extremely rewarding. Coming to the realization that everything you’ve believed and held dear your whole life is mythology is a hard, brave thing to do. I notice you didn’t address the last statement I made about the state of Evangelical Christianity today. Are you satisfied with American Christians becoming Christian Nationalists and Trump cultists?
Your problem is you took your eyes off of Jesus (do not know if you ever kept your eyes on him) and put them on man. True Christianity is not immoral as you would have us believe. If you were filled with the Holy Spirit you would not be agnostic. So I really doubt you had a relationship with Jesus. God made it that when we point a finger at others ,3 of our own point back at us. It gets sickening to hear I am no longer a believer. You never were in the 1st place. Because if you were you would know the beautiful love of Jesus and how much He denied himself and was beat up more than any man,to redeem you to Pure love. Yes it is true where the sheep are ,there are also wolves who make believe they are Christians and try to destroy peoples faith. A person who has a pure heart and walks and lives in the spirit can thank the Good Lord. Church is not a denomination but where two or more are gathered in His name . The church is believers and Christ is the chief cornerstone. Sad to see such a bad title
@@RuthZeeck Well the last thing first? We can probably agree on this. Most churches are pumping out false converts every single Sunday. Including mine. It’s the same MO. Whip up the emotion. Ask if anyone wants to go to heaven? Not too many people say they just rather go to hell. Repeat THE PRAYER . And Wala, the pastor pronounces you saved. I attend a very large church. The younger crowd is literally filled and overflowing with emotion. If you were to ask them, they would say oh yes, I’m sold out to Jesus. I’m on fire. Let’s go out and heal the sick and raise the dead. They are believing a lie. They are not followers of Christ/born again/spirit filled. All they have is there emotion. Someday the emotion will leave them and they will be like you. Just curious, are you an authentic atheist? How do you think all this got here?
@@RuthZeeck Just curious? Why do you call yourself an ex Christian? According to surveys 85% of Americans claim the title of Christian. 7% claim the title of born again believer. Are you an ex Christian or an ex-believer? Most of the people that claim the Title of Christian will end up in hell.

What to do with my grief as I learn to accept this new truth ? I'm devastated after learning the truth. I truly believed for 50 years. In the past 2 I've learned the truth. Now it's like I'm grieving the death of a dearly loved family member except they never really existed. I have severe PTSD. I have no family or friends bcuz I've spent my whole life people pleasing and ended up in abusive relationships. This level of depression is bigger than anything I've ever known. Can anyone else relate or understand? Idk what to do with all of this. I think about death all the time. I don't want to die. I want to live again and feel joy again
Give yourself time. It takes time. Find a secular therapist if possible. Look for friends in the secular communities. Be good to yourself and believe me that you have courage. It takes a lot of courage to do what you, I, and many of us fellow Christians did and continue to learn.I miss the church because of the fellowship. I still fellowship with my Christian friends and family but I don't share this with them. It's not a good place to be honest and it's not a safe place to be honest but I have athiest/ agnostic friends where I can be free to be honest.
Very observant! The real problem with Evangelicals is that they follow Paul's doctrines rather than Jesus' teachings. But that doesn't mean that there is no God. It just means that the evangelical religion is off track.
My mother was a fundamentalist and the pastor of her church was seen as a “ godly man” etc. Anyway about twenty years ago I had a second job delivering pizza. I went to this house one night and rang the doorbell to deliver the pizza the house was having a huge party. When the door opened you could smell the pot smoke and there was girls with very short dresses on etc. There was bottles all over the coffee table and in the middle of two very scandalous looking women sat the preacher of my moms church. He was drunk as hell and had one of his hands on the knee of one of the girls. He was a hellfire brimstone preacher too. The hypocrisy is unbelievable. Do you know who Jordan Maxwell is?? The conspiracy guy?? Anyway he’s pretty interesting and I’m definitely skeptical about a lot of his stuff yet he does know a lot about esoteric type stuff. Anyway my point is that he was saying on a UA-cam video of his that he has a friend down in Miami or someplace like that. This friend of his owns a whole chain of liquor stores. Anyway his friend told him about once a month Paul and Jane Crouch use to pull up in this van and buy boxes and boxes of cases of liquor. Tell me that’s not funny. Lol.
Yes, I realize the hypocrisy runs so high for these false preachers and teachers. Living the double life. But of course God will not be mocked. Whatever a man sows (good seed or bad seed) that shall he also reap. (Galatians 6:7) Nevertheless, Jesus Himself said He would build His church. (Matthew 16:18b) All the hypocrites and wolves will be rooted out and fall away. And Jesus will do the house cleaning. (Matthew 3:12) No uncleaness will remain.. I don't know how far that day is from now. But I would believe the clean up is happening as I write this.
Jordan Maxwell exposes a lot and has a lot to say - he's an insider - a mason; that's why he's so well informed on esoteric topics. How do I know? There's an interview on YT of Jordan and his masonic brother, Zacharia Sitchin - they do the "Master's Grip" masonic handshake in the video before they start the interview and they are BOTH Clearly masons!
@ You get your logic from a book where people live to be 900 years old and snakes talk to people and women get pregnant by angels and people split the ocean in half with a stick??
@@Scorned405 The women getting pregnant by angels I don't buy. I know that is a rather hot topic right now. Angels are spirit beings created by God, and they can't have sexual relations. Here's what Jesus said to touch on that..."For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven." (Matthew 22:30) Yet all the amazing signs in the Word of God, The Holy Bible are valid and true. And the greatest miracle is the new birth. The born again experience by the Spirit of God that Jesus told us about in John 3:3,5,7. I know, because I have experienced it myself first hand.
My old pastor used to tell people to raise their hands (with all eyes closed and no one looking around... except him 😂) for this sin or that sin. Only later I realized that was his tactic for targeting "promiscuous" women he could cheat on his wife with. Finally he was caught with one woman he was "counseling through divorce". 😂
One time when I was in ministry, I was thinking about how we could be more of an “Acts 2 Church.” You know, an EARLY CHRISTIAN CHURCH, when they were REALLY Christian before the church got so screwed up! So, I’m digging around in the New Testament letters, and all of a sudden it dawns on me that the Church has ALWAYS been screwed up. It’s right there, in the Bible. Hiding in plain sight. I think there’s ONE New Testament letter where the letter writer is like, “You guys are doing a great job!” Every other letter, the writer is saying, “Guys. You’re effing this up. Stop sleeping with each other. Stop fighting about stupid stuff. Etc. Etc. Etc.” Even in the book of Acts, we get exactly ONE CHAPTER away from Peter explaining the whole Pastor thing, and BANG! Right off the bat, in Chapter 5, the Holy Spirit is smiting Ananias and Sapphira for stealing from the church till. And then apostles are arguing about what’s kosher and what’s not kosher. Whether they should let in that sort of person or this sort of person. St Peter is a bigot. St Paul is too woke. From the start, this Church experiment has not worked very well. If you want to do good, enjoy community, and eat a meal with friends, join Rotary or the Lions Club or something. And, another thing: Who ever thought putting ONE person on a pedestal and not questioning them was a good idea? Acts 3? Yeesh! There’s a lot of dumb organizational management advice in the Bible, but that passage is just ridiculous. Not only because, in some denominations, it makes the pastor absolutely powerful and likely to tilt toward corruption; but also because it makes the pastor (and the pastor’s spouse and kids, if they’re allowed to marry) profoundly isolated and lonely, and more likely to deal with the isolation in profoundly unhealthy, damaging ways. And there is another side to clergy scandals. Depending on the church, sometimes it’s the Church Board who pulls all sorts of power plays on the pastor. Will they get a cost of living raise or not? Are they visiting enough? Are they working enough hours? And a big one in this era of church decline: Are they bringing in new members? The pressure of congregational ministry is ridiculous, even in smaller to midsize churches-not just the mega-churches. Some pastors cope with this in healthy ways, like going to therapy. Some pastors are irresponsible with the pressure and hurt others. Watch the Ethan Hawke film “First Reformed” for a brilliant example of how this dynamic works. I came to the conclusion that the flaws of the church weren’t just the fact that the church is a “hospital for sinners.” From the get-go in the Book of Acts-the church itself is a “sinner factory.” That said, some churches are healthy in spite of this crazy model, but the majority of congregations I served were unhealthy. I am so, so glad to be out of it!
I think we miss the point of the Bible stories. Through all time and space people have misbehaved. If we follow the 10:Commandments we will have an easier healthier life. But it’s hard. We all fall short. It’s what the Bible tells us. Forgive. Pick yourself up and keep going. The church has it all wrong!
@@janegerow5974 I would have more respect for the 10 Commandments if they included prohibitions on slavery,r*pe and any other form of violence against the vulnerable.

Evangelicals will say that the reason so many pastors "fall from grace" is because Satan is specifically targeting them to sin more than your average Joe Christian. "Spiritual warfare." But I think your explanation is a lot more logical. :) It's is the psychological self-delusion that creates absolute hypocrites and moral monsters.
one thing I hate is they feel accountable only to the Lord and not to the people they hurt. They break a window, run away, pray for forgivenes, it is as if it never happened. Except the window is still broken and the owner has to pay for it. But the owner must forgive or they will not be forgiven
OK. So, you've never done anything wrong? Who are you accountable to? I understand you are talking about Christians that mistreat people, but you do it yourself. If you really want to understand. Christain have to forgive to keep their heart pure. Revenge belongs to God. No one gets away with anything.
@@BR-bi7okduring The sermon on the Mount Jesus explains that if we have wronged another or if they have something against us we should reconcile with them before going to worship.
These are the best “church” services I have ever sat in. Thank you Timmy for speaking the truth. The hypocrisy of my church leaders drove me out. I know what many of them did but when I divorced due to emotional and physical abuse I was sinning.
So, instead of challenging the doctrine, which is easy to do, you become an atheist? Divorce is allowed in Christianity. The Catholics got it wrong, and they passed it on to Protestants. Same with Communion. The reference is about a chicken dinner church banquet, not a thimble of grape juice and pizza bread...gluten free, of course.
Another great video, Timmy! These people are hypocrites, and being a moral person with a strong sense of Justice and right and wrong, it disgusts me what some of these so called 'holy' people are up to, leading double lives. They may think God has forgiven their sins and they are now as white as snow, but it's a cop out. Their hearts were never pure to begin with and never will be. Some sins are unforgivable.
I could write a book about the 'goings on' from several churches I have attended over the years. But I won't. I had my own problems that I have sought to make right.
The truly sad thing is? According to the word of God, you are going to spend eternity with most of those that disgust you. Can you give me a couple of examples of sins that are unforgivable? You are being fooled by the wheat and the tares. The wheat and the tares look-alike, sound alike, go to the same place on Sunday morning, use the same vocabulary. Someday they’ll be separated. JOHN 3:3,JOHN 3:3, Ephesians 2:8-9. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
@@Philthefisherofmen What is forgiveness? What's done is done. A stolen thing can be given back, but trust is harder to restore. Can someone be 'forgiven' of murder? It won't bring the deceased back. Forgiveness only eliminates the punishment. As for Hell, that is a made-up place. Eternity? Have you thought of what that means? Forever with no free will is supreme torture. Life is precious because it is finite.

A Christian relative gave me a book by Ravi Zacharias (The Real Face of Atheism) a year or two ago trying to argue that atheism is wrong. I started reading it and it was a terrible book. It was full of straw man arguments against science and was primarily one big argument from consequence, that we need Christianity to keep the world from falling into depravity. Well, apparently it didn't work for Ravi.
I am Catholic and there is no such a thing as "I didn't do it" in the Catholic doctrine. It is different from the Protestants/Evangelicals. Sin is like dirt in your soul. If you confess to a priest (face to face) the sin will be forgiven but you will face the consequences of the act. That is why Catholic Church believe in the Purgatory. You will remain there till your purge your sins because it will be unbearable to be in front of Perfection in state of sin. On top of that, if somebody asked if you have done something (a sin) and you lie, go back to confession cause lying is another sin. You are not supposed to lie. There is no such a thing as "the sin has never happened". One more thing, if you sin and don't feel guilt you don't love the Lord as you should. It is not a game. It seems to me that in Protestantism, in the Evangelical churches, etc, there are a patchwork of Bible interpretations.
Purgatory. Oh, yeah, the place where all those babies who used to be in "limbo" got shuffled to when the Catholic church decided that the concept of Limbo for dead infants wasn't cool anymore. LOL
I agree with you partly. Born and raised RCC. Born again at 18. Went to most Protestant churches and found they are all Catholic wannabe's. The whole of Christianity is marred with horrible, demonic acts against humanity and the corruption continues till this day with little to no accountability and no repercussions. Add to that, there is corruption and lack of accountability in every sector of society! These could be the very last of the last days. And I do agree with you, if you sin against the FATHER, it should make you sick, hurt your heart. HE gives us perimeters to keep us safe in this Valley of the Shadow of Death. Peace
Ditto in Eastern Orthodox Christianity. You cannot be free of the consequences of your wrongdoings, whether in this life or after. Only evangelical Christianity seems to suffer from this spirit of 'I don't think that I need to face the music' for whatever.....
Imagine every week being in the church and constantly had to listen ‘YOU are a SINNER’ from the so-called pastors or elders or the tops, as if these were the better ones than us😅
The way this is supposed to work is that sincere repentance with forgiveness is followed by cleansing from all unrighteousness. Know him, love him, trust him, obey him, abide in him, manifest him, glorify him. If you're in it for the money and status, fearing and worshiping the creature not the creator, it all turns into a lie.

The problem with the so called scandals is Christianity's foolish and shortsighted views on Sexuality, Marriage etc. I just discussed this with a still evangelical friend of mine who was lamenting that he is not married or does not have kids. In order to be legitimate or acceptable to them you must be married with kids in a monogamous heterosexual marriage. You must fit into this little box in order to be considered 'legitimate':. It is such an idiotic and short sighted view not taking into account the fact that more than half of marriages end for one reason or another and that not everyone can or should be a parent over a child. The fact is humans are really not designed (if you want to use that word) for lifelong unions. In our evolutionary past our ancestors moved in nomadic groups and raised children as a group. The whole marriage thing came about in order to control women's reproduction and guarantee the paternity of children.
I'm LDS Christian, we have sinners too but it's a little different in that we have a lay clergy. Bishops are called from the congregation and serve for 5 years. If they or anyone else sins a great sin they are quietly excommunicated, meaning their covenant is broken. It's between them and a council. The Quorum council is under obligation not to speak of it outside of the room. The sinner is given an advocate to help him go through the repentance process. It takes about a year of counseling and some real repentance before they are ready for rebaptism.
Thanks for the laughs because I’m in the deconstruction process and sometimes I’m super pissed off at the corruption in all religions! Speaking the truth brother.💖
That scripture had me perplexed... Jesus said who without SIN throw the first stone. I want to know why Jesus didn't throw the stone being he had NO SIN.🤔🤔🤔🤔
Your timing on this topic couldn’t be better. Just last night it was reported that a large church in my area, Gateway Church DFW, removed/fired 4 elders. Due to sexual abuse that has BEEN ONGOING yet no one previously reported. 🙄It’s atrocious what these “organizations” are able to do/cause, and damage they do.
Interesting. Im a Gnostic Christian. Left the institutions years ago. I had a vision of a fault line starting from right below Dallas going straight up to NY. Lots going on in TX.
Yes and because we want to give everyone the 'benefit of the doubt', behaviors go unchecked. I had a pastor make a sexual pass at me. I am from the North, he is a Southerner. I assumed maybe he didn't know what that meant. (He had shook my hand and scratched the middle of my palm. Where I come from that meant you wanted to have sex with the person!) I asked a friend who I knew had been pretty worldly in the past if she knew what it meant. Sure enough, she knew! I still CONvinced myself that the pastor would never do that to me. He was married. I was married. I NEVER gave him a hint that I was interested. But then at a later event when I was pregnant he made a creepy comment about me. I told my husband and we left the church. It was really starting to click with us, that there was ZERO accountability in ANY churches. And we see that now in every sector of society.

These religions are so very, very clearly man made malarkey. I'm 72 and I've seen through this stuff since I was about 7-years old. My parents didn't go to church but they didn't hate on religious people, either (and my parents were kind, forgiving, honest, etc.) Frankly religion, to me, always seemed to attract the people who felt they had the most to hide . And a person's choice of religion is simply an accident of their birthplace. It's all freaking nutty. I wish aliens would land (I've seen two ufos, close up - like really, really close up - one when I was 42, one when I was 60) and we could dispense with the idea that we know how the universe is constructed, how everything works, etc. We are a primitive species that believes very, very nutty stuff....absent an iota of evidence. This whole repentance "thing" absolves a person of needing to act decently, fairly, honestly, etc. on a regular basis - I mean, it's just feels like a weird moral and spiritual scam. I liked your video where you pointed out how - under this goofy Christian "setup" - Ted Bundy would have gone to heaven for having a death bed conversion. What a crock. It's an utterly infantile view of how this world and the universe works....it's insane, man.

Billy said if you will send me your information and a $1000 donation I’ll say a special prayer for your wife. Long story short, my uncle never heard back from Billy after sending him his info and donation money. Billy may not have any scandals we know of but he sure liked money 💵
I was going to ask the same question. Why would you even contact a stranger to pray for you when you can approach God directly? Some of you just asking to be scammed 😂
Thank you for the video Timmy. I’d like to add to something that you said about Christians sinning against God and only being accountable to God even though they sinned against other people. In the story about David and BethSheba, which you mentioned, David specifically said to God when he was confessing his sins that it was against God only that he sinned. I remember reading this and just having my mind blown. David pulled a married woman into an adulterous situation and then basically murdered her husband, and after that, he said that it was only against God that he sinned. Are you kidding me?
Your point is what exactly? That you're a better judge of character than the God who chose David ? Would you like to take over God's job since you possess deeper insight?
@ I’m providing biblical support for Timmy’s claim that there are christians (evangelical pastors in his examples) that believe they are only accountable to god in their wrongdoings despite that their offense may have involved betraying someone that trusts them, ie, a married spouse having an adulterous affair as in the case of Ravi Zachariah and countless other christian leaders. The example in the bible records David’s confession saying that his sin was against god ALONE. He was married to another woman, oh wait, six other women when he fornicated AND had Uriah, Bathsheba’s husband killed in battle. He offended many others besides god. My point is the same as Timmy’s. Christians feel as though there is a free pass for sin and offensive behaviors because they believe they have a sacred book from the almighty creator that says they do. It’s a cop out from being held accountable to their lies.

My former baptist pastor was a staunch moralist and his sermons were very judgemental about gays , cohabitation outside of marriage and premarital sex etc. Incidently three of his four kids are gay… 😅 He went as far as trying to force a young couple to confess their sin infront of the congregation as they had a pregnacy outside of wedlock. They refused, left the church along with many others. Fast forward 20 yrs. I had left the church by then. He admits to having a year long affair. This time he does not have the guts to confess his sin before the congreation. Instead he wrote a letter and had an elder read it in church I dedpise him for his cowardice and hypocracy. I don’t judge him on account of the infildelity. I’ve studied evolutionary psychology and I know the polyamorous nature of male sexuality and even dabbled myself. What I judge him for is not living up the standards he pressed on others for such a long time. To his credit he did step down and 6 years on he had not taken up another pastor job except for the occasional preaching engagement.
Back in my church days I really liked the pastor and spent a lot of time with him just talking in his office (non denomination). Well, it came out that he was having an affair and the entire church thought it was me. I was devastated that he had to leave the church. It was some other girl he was hooking up with and he was in a long term marriage. I was going through a divorce at the time and that's why I spent so much time talking with him. My husband that I was divorcing thought it was me too and confronted him in a grocery store 🙄 That was all eons ago. Just thought of it with the topic. It was a small town and I got dirty looks for so long 😂 All the judgmental people first to cast their stones at somebody innocent.
Sorry you went through that! It would be best if the church was more transparent AND held each other accountable. But alas, it is just another business or club.
A Christian here, but not of the stereotypical evangelical kind popularized in contemporary culture. Also, this isn’t an attack on anyone who has renounced their faith. In fact, I would much prefer someone to renounce and be honest about their indifference than someone who professes Christ to the very end dishonestly. Rather, I propose an observation. That is simply, not to judge the Christian faith based on its followers but its founder. After all, the church is a refuge for sinners, not a home for saints.
Your explanations explain how there can be so many Christian republican Trumpers. I was born in the JW church from birth untill 33. Then I just read the bible until 65. Now I would say I am agnostic. I would like to believe in a God. I have done so much research: watching videos and reading books that I don't know that there is a real God to stand up. I wish there was. I will keep looking.
Look I respect the Jews as a race but their theology is hideous garbage. Jews who practice their religion seriously get no pass from me, even though the popular thing is to feel sorry for them.
Don't forget David and Jonathan were clearly intimate lovers and Jonathan's father was jealous of David's relationship with his son. That's the only thing that makes sense for the king wanting David dead. David was a threat to Jonathan becoming king so why else would his father want him dead??? Honestly a love triangle is the only thing that makes sense!!
@@clefnoteproductions6695 That a opinion based in falsehoods. Go back and read the stories of King Saul and David. For instance, why did King Saul want to hunt David down and kill him? Here is what God's Word says..."So the women sang as they danced, and said: “Saul has slain his thousands, And David his ten thousands.” Then Saul was very angry, and the saying displeased him; and he said, “They have ascribed to David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed only thousands. Now what more can he have but the kingdom?” So Saul eyed David from that day forward. And it happened on the next day that the distressing spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied inside the house. So David played music with his hand, as at other times; but there was a spear in Saul’s hand. And Saul cast the spear, for he said, “I will pin David to the wall!” But David escaped his presence twice." "and Saul was still more afraid of David. So Saul became David’s enemy continually.(1 Samuel 18:7-11, 29) And that whole accusation about Johnathan and David being lovers (homosexual) is non existent. "the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. Now Jonathan again caused David to vow, because he loved him; for he loved him as he loved his own soul." (1 Samuel 18:1b & 1 Samuel 20:17) No sexual union happened, it was union of souls.
'What shall we say then? Shall we continue to sin that grace may abound? God forbid! How shall we who are dead to sin live any longer therein? ( Romans 6: 1-2)
This point of view that you're talking about is also prevalent in jails and prisons. Those people use forgiveness as an excuse to continue breaking the law...lol.
1 Timothy 4: 1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron,
@larriveeman that's been happening FOREVER. It's like wars and rumors of wars. It's like me saying, "in the last days people will be eating, drinking, and sleeping." That will always be happening.
If that is in response to Timmy 'losing his faith', what say you about all the church folk who sin and some are sinning Badly and yet still profess Christ and teach/preach?
Always fun to watch/listen to Timmy's vids. The open, impromptu aspect makes it enjoyable. This is just another part of the insanity of christianity. The hypocrisy is that believers think they can do it over and over. To me it's part of that "get out of jail free card" syndrome. The main item I learned from Timmy today is the verse about love covering sin (Is it 1 Peter 4:8?) that these pastors 'interpret' for their own (and the chruch's) benefit. More insanity.
How do you feel about demons? People who see demons but aren’t Christian but it caused them to change their ways? Or people who experience schizophrenia and they see demons?
Thank you for this video. I recently had an unpleasant situation where I wrote to a local evangelical church to ask about some of their beliefs since I was genuinely curious, and perhaps I asked some difficult questions, but I received a very rude answer saying that there is only one correct interpretation of the Bible and my pride will not allow me to experience the grace of Jesus. I thought my current church was judgemental and full of lies, but now I no longer think it's so bad in comparison
I love this! I was an evangelical for about 12 years and can relate to all these videos and podcasts. Its fantastic to be out of that brain washing mind set.
I have always felt that way. I studied Physics and Math and science and was constantly gaslighted by Christians in this country to the point that I have become a hermit. I was also addicted to porn but got myself out of it. It always felt awful afterwards, I just wanted to be in nature.
This is an excellent and informative video. I agree with what you are saying. It's sad how there's corruption in some churches. I do believe that God forgives people when they sin, but forgiveness doesn't always mean there are no consequences for your actions. Pastors that commit adultery should be fired from their job even if they pray to God to ask for forgiveness. Pastors that rape people, molest children, etc should be fired, never be allowed to work as pastors ever again for the rest of their life, and be in prison even if they ask for forgiveness from God. There are some circumstances that warrant people being restricted from being a pastor for a specific period of time before being reinstated, and there are some circumstances where people should never be allowed to work as pastors ever again for the rest of their life. Some churches never do background checks on people who want to work with children. The excuse some churches use as to why they never do background checks on people who want to work with children in the church is "what's done in the past is the past, and God wants us to forgive people and give people second chances". I strongly believe in forgiving people and giving people second chances. However, it's important to not be naive to the reality of the seriousness of child molestation. Child molestation is a horrible tragedy that destroys the innocence of children and damages children psychologically. Research shows that the vast majority of child molesters don't change. Due to the serious nature of child molestation, people who struggle with molesting children should never be allowed to work with children in church. If a youth minister or Children's Sunday School teacher molests a child, they should never be given a second chance to work as a youth minister, Children's Sunday School teacher, etc. I think all churches should be required to do background checks for people who want to be pastors, youth ministers, work with children in the church, etc. Background checks are very helpful in helping to prevent corrupt people from getting these jobs, and background checks would help prevent situations of corrupt people moving from one church to another to another and so on. I think one of the main reasons a lot of pastors end up having affairs is not having safeguards in their life to help prevent affairs from occurring. What I mean by safeguards is not being alone behind closed doors with a married woman, not having friendships with married women that are "too close", not going out to restaurants, ball games, concerts, etc alone with married women unless a 3rd person comes along, not going on vacations alone with married women, not counseling married women alone on marriage issues, etc. Keep up the great work with your videos. I wish you the best.
Thanks for your truth. It's hard to break away from this brainwashing. I give credit to all former believers who are able to become an independent thinker. So much evil in the name of religion!

What I find interesting is…that having rejected and faith he nevertheless is relying on the faith he rejects to judge the church he left. If there is no God how can he judge to a standard? Any standard. I agree there is much sin, maybe more than ever. But he is wrong that all churches are as bad or flawed as the church he himself led. I am called for such pastors are being exposed. In my journey of deconstruction (born and raised Catholic, saved at 18, went through most of the protestant denominations), I can now see how myself and others come to conclusions based on religious beliefs. Oh, I saw that movie about Pearson! He was a universalist; a view which I hold myself (as a Methodist). Anyway, really eye-opening video you have here. It explains a few things for sure.
So when Christians accuse atheists of only disbelieving in God because they want to sin - that is basically just their projection. Every time, I swear to God.
It's crazy because I wasn't even in the ministry but as a regular christian, I believed that whenever I sin, as long as I repent, God cleanses me of that sin and yes, I did it, but God forgave me so I kept doing it.
I think the church misses a ton of points. Because of flesh, we may sin, or sin a lot. One should endure consequences of one sins (you drive drunk and kill someone, you go to jail). What it fails to do is teach why and how to overcome YOURSELF. When I was going through some life changes, I was also addicted to cigarettes. I don't think smoking or cigs are a sin at all. But the fact I NEEDED and wanted a cigarette all the time was troublesome. I remembered a verse, "you are a slave to whatever has mastered you.'" Well I didn't want to be a slave to a little cigarette, but also the drive to smoke all the time was very strong. I recognized that 1 I wanted to be free. 2 God gives graces for these things 3 He could deliver me from the addiction with His power. So I guess in agreement with God not wanting me to be a slave to cigarettes, I was able to quit. In a day. Never had the desire again! "Should we sin that grace may abound?" We dont want to take God's graces for granted. There is definitely other stuff I struggle with. The question is, am I struggling because it is sin? Or am I disappointed in myself because I am weak? And why am I weak? I dont concentrate on hell. I think on Right Now. Why in this Right Now moment do I want to ..ABC? Name it.
How did you know your 'sins' were 'forgiven'? Just because you admitted it? Because I assume it was a voice in your head that you created that told you so.
Well from a born again Christian perspective it's taken from 1 john 3,if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive ,so Christians just confess but it's like a vicious circle ,keep sinning then ask God to forgive so it's spirals out of control ,
That’s too bad that their mindset has twisted their interpretation of scripture. There’s far too many verses about a person’s actions defining the health of their spirituality, but it would appear those are being ignored 🤷🏻♂️
Sigh the world is full of contradictions the pastors that I know are mostly family members I was in a sad place all the pastor ever did was talk to me cause he saw I needed a friend and all they have ever done is want the best for everyone and help anyone in need. It was something I pondered just before I broke free and since about how is it possible to sin if you believe god is watching your every move. My take is that they don't believe there is a god any more than I do, now that I'm an atheist.

It's something to which you might not really be able to speak but I grew up, in the US, kind of feeling like a second class citizen because I was the kid at school who didn't buy all this religion "stuff". I really felt marginalized and felt like I'd better not ever let anybody know that I was not religious, and, that I thought all of it was ridiculous. There's references to god everywhere in our society - on our money, in almost every governmental building, just everywhere. If you don't at least feign some religious affiliation you almost can't get elected to any sort of political office - say you're agnostic and try to become a country commissioner. Good luck. Witness Donald Trump suddenly pretending to be a religious dude. And yet I hear all the Christians say they're being attacked for their religion. I'd love to hear what you think about 'The War on Christmas" (which does not exist) and all of these Christians running around screaming that they're the one's being "persecuted"...yada yada yada. I think that's a load of bullshit. Might make for a good video. Peace, man.

Not only do I believe in God, my relationship is so strong with God that God answers my prayers. I experience miracles regularly. Why do Christians sin so bad? Christians from third world countries understand better: look at the speaker list from the persecuted church conference at Back to Jerusalem in North Carolina last month: Brother Yun, Peter xu, etc. They are real saints. The miracles are amazing

All very solid and revelatory points, but isn't the foremost problem with the concept of "sin" its original decoupling from the rational application of conscience and reasoned consequence? Eve - absent of the knowledge of good and evil - sins by way of disobedience. She's in a state of innocence, and ignorance; she cannot consciously do right or wrong because she cannot distinguish between them - by design. However, she can frustrate the wishes of her creator, whose moral character she cannot ascertain, by listening to the serpent who - from her limited perspective - is also morally ambiguous. Therefor, the first sin is not defined by the will to immorality (the will to employ hate, the will to inflict harm, etc.) but the will to resist God's, whose nature is still unknown to her, whose claims are (accurately) contradicted by the serpent. "Sin" is not a distinction between right and wrong; it's a distinction between deference and defiance. This explains why God can no sooner liberate His chosen people from slavery in Egypt than gift them slaves, demand ethnic cleansing in Canaan while commanding "thou shalt not kill," condemn child sacrifice yet test Abraham with an order to make of his son Isaac a burnt offering, and so on. It's not inconsistent; in each case, it's a question of what God wants, not what is objectively moral or immoral even by a presumptive standard set forth by the divine.
Former pastor here. I grow up in the church, i've never heard of this idea before. The bible even says to confess your sins to each other as well. And to correct your brother when wrong.
(Galatians 6:7)

😂
I was groomed by my minister under the pretense that he was helping me with my marriage problems.

Telling me that I was ungodly because I didn't beat my children was the beginning of the end.
Freedom from sin can only be achieved by being free from religion.
Some hearts are better than others but none are pure😊
I could write a book about the 'goings on' from several churches I have attended over the years. But I won't. I had my own problems that I have sought to make right.

The truly sad thing is? According to the word of God, you are going to spend eternity with most of those that disgust you. Can you give me a couple of examples of sins that are unforgivable?
Peace

The way this is supposed to work is that sincere repentance with forgiveness is followed by cleansing from all unrighteousness.
God does not live in a "box", you have some great points.. i believe in eternity we all have a "connection" with another soul in some shape or form ✌️
"If men only believe enough in Christ they can commit adultery and murder a thousand times a day without periling their salvation." Martin Luther 😵💫
Protestantism is nuts.

My parents didn't go to church but they didn't hate on religious people, either (and my parents were kind, forgiving, honest, etc.) Frankly religion, to me, always seemed to attract the people who felt they had the most to hide .

I thought my current church was judgemental and full of lies, but now I no longer think it's so bad in comparison
The money of sin is oh so good!

Even though he left, I am not sure he was ever really in.
Talk about it man. It absolutely is pathological. I did it too.. I would do the same thing. I remember my group would joke about this very thing and we would call it hitting the ‘delete button’. 🤦♂️😂

@@timmygibsonkc is there another link to your whole testimony of what happened to cause you to change? Also, do you still believe there is a spiritual component to our entity? I left the institutions of Christianity I think in 2007? I guess you could say I am still deconstructing! I still have faith that Christ is, but that we dont know the whole story. In my journey of deconstruction (born and raised Catholic, saved at 18, went through most of the protestant denominations), I can now see how myself and others come to conclusions based on religious beliefs. Whereas if one didn't have a religious mindset or guiltset, some choices would be quickly made regarding life situations. I know the word religion means to 'bind again'. So when Christians accuse atheists of only disbelieving in God because they want to sin - that is basically just their projection. Every time, I swear to God.
YES! They are the one's that want to "sin" and escape the punishment they believe Big Daddy is going to give them.
Thank you for this!

@@schahrzadmorgan I know, right!

love this; rip away that veil!
Well from a born again Christian perspective it's taken from 1 john 3,if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive ,so Christians just confess but it's like a vicious circle ,keep sinning then ask God to forgive so it's spirals out of control ,
Okay. Thanks for sharing. 😃
That’s too bad that their mindset has twisted their interpretation of scripture. There’s far too many verses about a person’s actions defining the health of their spirituality, but it would appear those are being ignored 🤷🏻♂️
It just feels like current Christians spend more time proving their worth by judging and condemning others, then by spreading acceptance and love.
Sigh the world is full of contradictions the pastors that I know are mostly family members I was in a sad place all the pastor ever did was talk to me cause he saw I needed a friend and all they have ever done is want the best for everyone and help anyone in need. You would have done better to find salvation through the messiah.
It was something I pondered just before I broke free and since about how is it possible to sin if you believe god is watching your every move. My take is that they don't believe there is a god any more than I do, now that I'm an atheist.
Is called Grace😊

@@traog i see your point
That’s what I’ve been wondering. They wouldn’t break the law if a police officer was watching but they’ll sin repeatedly while god is watching? The only thing that makes sense is if deep down they know no god is watching.
@@aidenmartin6674 Or if they have CONvinced themselves that god doesn't care. There is a lot to learn in the grey and still have Christ as lord and friend.
Spot on!
Peace, man.
Look at all the Bible characters: they all were big time sinners...lol. It is the same today...
If the bible characters were not sinners why would the messiah have needed to die ?
@daughterofenoch677....yes you are correct....Jesus came and died....and Christians are still sinning....
"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. ."
Your European Christianity is not and never has been founded on my father's word. No wonder you're all stumbling about like drunk men. Going from error to error
Not only do I believe in God, my relationship is so strong with God that God answers my prayers. I experience miracles regularly. Why do Christians sin so bad? It's because they don't understand truth. CHristians from first world countries don't seem to understand the truth that well. Christians from third world countries understand better: look at the speaker list from the persecuted church conference at Back to Jerusalem in North Carolina last month: Brother Yun, Peter xu, etc. They are real saints. The miracles are amazing
God answers your prayers. What are your prayers? I am still a believer, yet out of church and doctrines. God has sometimes answered my prayers. He has also not answered them and other things have happened that are out of my control, desires, hopes. Do we accept His yet and His no?
@@One-z6y I suggest you read the Heavenly Man by Brother Yun. He never argued with God when he was thrown into prison and tortured for his faith. The answer is yes, we accept his yes and his no.
@@One-z6y My biggest prayer to God is to get the full truth of the afterlife. I don't like praying for a lot more things because that clutters my life and my focus. As I grow in the Lord, I see that He gives me the desires of my heart. I don't have to even ask Him. I also ask Him to help me with the problems in my life. When I study the bible, I feel a power penetrate through my head. In that state, when i pray for an urgent need, God helps. I pray for needs not mere desires.
And then there is the Gnostic view!
