"Love's Greeting" is based on Elgar's love story. Elgar had a poor background in status, academic background, and economics, and in this situation, he met Caroline Alice Roberts, who had a completely different background and environment. Elgar was from a commoner family, but Caroline was the daughter of a prestigious family, in the opposite situation, but they fell in love and promised to marry. But her father who angry with Caroline vehemently opposed their meeting. Nevertheless, the two of them had their own engagement ceremony, and Elgar wrote this song as an expression of love, gratitude, and sorry for Caroline and gave it to her :)
'사랑의 인사'는 엘가의 러브스토리를 바탕으로 만들어진 작품입니다. 엘가는 신분, 학력, 경제 등의 배경이 좋지 않았고 이런 상황에서 전혀 다른 배경과 환경을 가진 캐롤라인 앨리스 로버츠를 만나게 됩니다. 엘가는 평민 집안, 캐롤라인은 명문가의 집안으로 둘의 배경은 전혀 달랐지만 사랑에 빠졌고 결혼을 약속했습니다. 하지만 그런 캐롤라인에게 화가 난 그녀의 아버지는 그들의 만남을 격렬하게 반대했습니다. 그럼에도 두 사람은 둘만의 약혼식을 가졌고, 캐롤라인에 대한 사랑과 고마움, 미안함의 표현으로 엘가가 이 노래를 써서 선물하게 됩니다 :)
