i am a russian who moved to switzerland, this is the best channel ever, cant stop watching!! thx man
He doesn't like when people ask him how was your weekend. I love it . This guy is a trip
so how was your weekend?
I just got a new job where a large portion of my coworkers are from Russia. I came on UA-cam to find something that would help me understand their culture better so I could be relatable and at the very least respectful. Thank you so much for this video. You were both informative and honest. 🙏
I love watching your channel. I still remember your presentation on smiling. I was hoping to visit Russia when I was retired, but now that I'm retired looks like I'll have quite a bit of a wait. Until then, at least I can watch your videos!
i agree with you on the subject of talking about medical procedures. I t is so gross. I find it hard not to say "mind your own business". regarding weekends just say" no plans,l am just going to hang out at home." it is called small talk. or say" i am just going to take it easy."
yep
About past weekends: it came to Russia too - everybody is asking each other "how was weekend", but mostly out of politeness, so I don't have to inform everybody, how much time I spent in a mall or how exciting was my visit to my mother-in-law (and surely nobody really wants to hear it, and thank God for that). So unless I had something really interesting and want to share it badly, I don't have to be specific - "Nice" is enough (в смысле "нормально") (And even in the latter case, it doesn't mean that the person, who is asking, actually wants to hear, how good it was, so just to not get anyone too excited, it may be better to keep it to myself)))
We are just so interested in what Russian people eat… I too would be extremely curious as well :)
Love your videos Russian Dad! They make me laugh
i was just telling my wife about weekend thing and what are you having for lunch :) haha so true
+Misha yep
as an American I think i'm just uncomfortable with silence and small talk makes the situation seem less threatening
In mother Russia we do not talk shit when it is unnessesairy.
Sissy
Traditionally, men (and women) are not afraid of silence. It's called The Strong Silent type. It's normal in America.
Small talk is sort of a ritual here (in the US); it doesn't really mean anything - it's just something people are expected to do. I don't care much for it myself. I am curious, though; what do Russian co-workers talk about with each other?
dose America even have a culture
Joseph Kushuk lol yes
Yes, your mom's.
its good you came to amarica
i think so too! :)
That's right, no one asked Konstantin Chernenko, "Kostya, how are you feeling?"
Something about the feeling of this series reminds me of borat
We discuss food because people come from everywhere and have interesting, different food.
About illness, where I come from, you don't talk about any physical complaints. It's weak.
You sound like greo on minions lol you would be a good actor
all true
+Dmitry S yup
yeah. all tru.
lol this shit makes me laugh i wacthed it twice because i know you were like what the fuck is all this bullshit
your so nice(:
Possible American culture is strange but Americans are kind and honest:) Do you have American friends?)
+Christina Iness yes, I do have American friends ;) and Americans are awesome people, of course!
Russian daddy is the best;)
thanks!!
Just to understand, we don`t like that unhonesty, you do not know those people. To put it simple it`s no matter if inside the house is warm, until the door opens you cant feel it. Same with people, no matter if their hearts are warm if there is a wall of ice between.
@@salieri_sg9413 I like that! Thanks :)
+drovoseg exactly!! :)
:)
So basically...Russsians are mean and don't like casually having a conversation. But Americans love being friendly and getting to know people.
ehh... not exactly :)
Russians are very good people, very tolerant & caring
After watching this I am really starting to think I was adopted
@@sm5467... Unless you are Jewish. Or from a different country. Other than that, sooooo friendly.
@@kremove I am from India
I work next to an immigration law office and I often see Russian families in the hallways. I notice none of them ever smile or even appear friendly or nice. They come off as very cold and mean.
We smile if something is funny!
@@MegaAna125 ni pizdi
@@ishamassoud7906 Rude and nasty how? Maybe you are misinterpreting the situation.
@@Mrbootyman potomu-shto ya jila v rossii i znayu o chem ya govoru/ thats becuase i lived in russia and know this for a fact
