Mi 11 ultra for me…very stable in video recording front and back camera… irs not even the latest xiaomi flagship right now how more the the mi12 ultra…
Great comparison, thx. I vlog using Vivo X50 Pro with gimbal on the main but it's a bit too cropped thus looking to upgrade to X70 Pro+ with gimbal on the ultrawide when it launches here in Thailand. Just like the simplicity of not having to add an external gimbal + superior low light/night video capability.
Vivo Is the best by far, as a camera. In a camera you need good sensor, good lens, good mechanical stabilisation (OIS or IBIS). So: - Coating in the lens reduces flare - Gimbal stabilisation - Better sensors - Excellent SOC - API camera2. You can shoot video or photo, with any app you want in manual mode with granular control over noise reduction, exposure, sharpening, log curves video, raw photo, etc. And is here when lens, sensor and stabilisation shows itself.
Xiaomi: * still has panning judder * best mic, but least noise cancellation Vivo: * mic sounds a bit muffled, as if you wear a mask * best night video EIS with that gimbal, the only one with 0 jitter * best moon (least clipped) * best night photo Apple: * still has the worst EIS at daylight * still has lens flare * no panning judder * no idea but is your face really that red? * best night video dynamic range with light sources
Gimbal definitely helps but I don't like the colour science of the ultrawide camera in day light conditions. In night time I will give it to Vivo just because it captures the most amount of details!
Thanks Chris, I'm glade to see a Android phone getting close of Iphones in video performance, don't get me wrong they are all very good but Vivo surprised me, for me Vivo won them all, stills, video and audio. In Audio performance Mi11 Ultra lost because wind noise. Video performance Iphone lost at minute 4:35, is that judder or what? what happened to Iphone?? Front facing video Vivo announced 4K@30fps, so maybe it's a bug, but Vivo image it's so good and crispy. I'm really into this phone right now, I'm just waiting buy it in europe.
I always enjoy your content and comparison videos. The venues are always very picturesque. This comparison was great because I thought each phone brought something to the table as far as a specialty and I could picture myself in the future having one of those bad boys in my pocket. I was a little curious on which one would be the king of zoom though. I always like the idea of being different and everyone has an iPhone in Kansas. I'm really wondering if the new Vivo would work in the US with US carriers? Xiaomi almost worked, but I had a Mi Max 3 hurt my feelings by not receiving all my phone calls. Then I went with Huawei and I am now I am patiently waiting to see if HMS will ever work over here. During the past 2 years I have enjoyed my very trusty GMS equipped Mate 20 X so much my hands have grown 😀. And now, after a few beers, I tend to find myself stumbling out in my garden shooting my own videos... That gamble camera system in the Vivo could prove to be very promising while I'm stumbling around out there🍻. I just do mine for fun, but I do appreciate your hard work! I bought this phone because of your review on it. 👍
It's, amazing how far Vivo have come in the Camera department! That ultra wide footage from the vivo was next level. But it seems that iPhones are still champions when it comes to video from the main camera. Superb showdown Chris as always✌✌
Video on the X60 series was subpar, but I expected it to improve more with the custom V1 chip on the X70 series. And people say that the quality changes noticeably between auto and pro modes, which goes to show how "dumb" the software for video still is despite all the features they added. I don't think they'll ever improve on video like they did with photos, seems like no one can get video "right".
The Vivo's Zeiss optics are really showing itself. The anti-glare coating inside the lenses reduces the glare and lens flare to the point its barely visible. This one feature I really miss from the iPhone and Xiami phones. I hope it will be a standard soon, as the modern optics in phones are tend to produce lots of lens flare.
I'm gonna complete my school studies in next 2-4 months. And I was looking for a good phone for camera. But still I feel mi 10 ultra camera is better than all I'll go for it...BTW nice compare Chris
The iPhone is so warm for the instagram effect 🥴. Good for some, bad for others I guess. I’m impressed with the photos of the Vivo tbh! Truly fantastic. Video goes to iPhone as always, and mic goes to Xiaomi, altho as you said, sadly no wind blockage. None of them are a slouch tho, they’re all very good (except Vivo’s mic 😔). Great video Chris, keep it up as always 😊
It's gotten difficult to choose since all flagship models are equipped with great cameras and build quality. Mostly personal preference but still hard to choose between them.
I guessed horribly incorrectly, but I'm satisfied in one respect: This test confirms that for me, I'd be silly to even consider cameras as part of my future purchase decisions. They're all perfectly adequate for my purposes. Great video!
The Vivo ultrawide is very good. I think overall the Iphone seems better for video (except for night), but I wouldn't say the other two are too far. I would choose the Vivo though.
Thanks for the comparison! I'm looking to get a new phone and am undecided between the Mi 11 Ultra and the Vivo X70 Pro+, seeing results side-by-side really is helpful. They both take exceptional pictures and the Vivo is king for dynamic range and low-light, BUT (and this is a matter of personal preference) is often a bit off in colour reproduction. It's especially noticeable in low-light photos, where street lights are cast way too warmly, and greens (the tree picture) are over-saturated and the colours are way off (a pine tree looks like a lush tropical tree). So in that sense, I'm leaning towards the Xiaomi but the Vivo does excel in other areas (that dynamic range in sunsets!)...it's a tough call! In any case thanks for providing the footage so potential buyers can judge for ourselves!
You can't really go wrong with both but if you plan to shoot a lot of video the Xiaomi mics are much better and audio bitrate that's a big one. X70 Pro+ is the best at low light shots and video.
Cool comparison, I would buy either X70 Pro Plus or IQOO 8 Pro if it will be in European sales, please for a similar comparison VIVO X70 Pro Plus and IQOO 8 Pro.

To me the Vivo was the best quality overall. The I phone had the clearest sounding mic but it was much lower in volume that the others.
I agree with your conclusions. It's then a matter of what are you buying the phone for.
Ok time to watch very curious!
Xiaomi:
* still has panning judder
* best mic, but least noise cancellation
Vivo:
* mic sounds a bit muffled, as if you wear a mask
* best night video EIS with that gimbal, the only one with 0 jitter
* best moon (least clipped)
* best night photo
Apple:
* still has the worst EIS at daylight
* still has lens flare
* no panning judder
* no idea but is your face really that red?
* best night video dynamic range with light sources
I agree with you
