Love my time on the 727, flew it for United, LAB Boliviano, Air Santo Domingo, and TransMeridian--9 Type ratings and still my favorite Jet! "The F-4 Phantom of the Airline word" Real men fly THREE HOLERS! aka the B727!

The heavy noise reduction tells you just how loud these planes were in the cockpit, great to see an engineer handling the throttles too.

Such a beautiful plane. The 727 is one of my fav planes, shame not so many of them flying any more. I think Iran has the only passenger flying 727s in the world.

I guess he might have quit smoking!, Wonderful plane nearly 60 years old the 727.I learnt it back in 1990 and only now I might get a chance to fly it.I would be happy to see me retiring in this old dutiful reliable bird.
I'm the engineer on 30MP and was thrilled when my boss told me there was a u-tube of us departing Boeing field. I've never seen it in the air since I am always on board. So Cool!
That particular 727 is ancient, probably built sometime from the late 60s to the mid 70s, but a superbly reliable workhorse of an aircraft.

Im sure I read somewhere that they wear a glove on the left hand because the sides of the trim wheel switch are worn and sharp due to the age of the aircraft.

Nice to see a different flight. also like your little samba style jingle...
(It could be enhanced into a longer dance tune and have some breaks added using percussive interludes, then some more variations perhaps from an Arpa Vijera, then back to another change with the percussives again etc.)
This also gives some interesting views of the Andes!

An excellent video, as usual. One question: Why do the pilot and first officer wear a glove on one hand throughout much of the flight?
Old school flying....! Great job from proffesionals,love the flight engineer big mistake removing the third man from the cockpit, the use of gloves is out of this world reminds me of the military...

One question. Why pilots have gloves and why inly on left hand?
My best guess, is that they are training to be villains for some action movie.
I would say it's to protect the hand from UV light. Up there it is not good for your skin.
