Hey brother so I'm watching your video on the four horsemen but you have your comments turned off,. But I have a question for you. I have struggled with the two churches pergamum and thyatira. After the church of Sardis Kane Constantine who made Christianity a legal religion in rome, but he was a pagan high priest and he brought paganism into the church. I do have a hard time trying to find his edict to where he said that all should come under the authority of the pontiff pontifice maximus, which he claimed himself as and those who did not fall under his authority were also martyred. I have always taken the Roman Catholic Church as the Church of pergamum, but I have an issue with the Orthodox Church which has a lot of the same practices, how do you view more with these two churches? I don't know if I'm asking this question right, but when you talked about Jezebel that made a lot of sense because she did kill the prophets of God and tried to claim supremacy over the Earth at that time. I understand the rest, I also believe much of historicism, that the Book of Revelation is a history of the church, I am totally in agreement with that. Not way out into the future. But after the seals comes the trumpets, the judgment of Rome by God. So in between the seals and the trumpets you have 144,000, what is your understanding on this as well, along with the two churches that I have mentioned, where does the Orthodox Church fit in this because that's a huge church that's around the world and it can't be ignored?
Oh my, Pastor Boonstra, I only wish that I could have been in that audience when you first delivered this message!! So much of what you presented here has such a new, fresh, hopeful ring to it. So true, so true. Yes, The Holy Spirit got there ahead of us in every circumstances. And in practical experience, it makes sense doesn't it? Praise God!!
If the traditional evangelism does not work anymore, as some church growth specialists say, why are TED presentations so popular? It is not a problem with the method (the preaching of the cross), it is a problem with how we use this method! Is still the preaching of Christ crucified "the power of God and the wisdom of God"?
Traditional evangelism definitely has a place. Like Ellen White counsels (MS 117, 1907), we need to breath new life into traditional methods, as you said, and introduce new methods as well. TED Talks are probably not a good comparison, though. Most of those are 10-20 minutes whereas many traditional evangelism campaigns are at least an hour per night for several nights per week over the course of a month or more--a much larger commitment than a 20-minute video.
My point in comparing TED presentations with public evangelism is this: if a presentation is good, it will attract people, no matter if lasts 20 minutes or one hour!

It begs the question. Can you still be an SDA preacher, if you’re not a stand up comedian? Or is that a requirement now?
What
. Even before I became SDA preachers tried to make us laugh some. p
We be who we are because we all have a distinct personality.
God uses everyone that’s willing to reach everyone who’s willing.
