  • Have you heard of BOREOUT?
    It’s a disorder caused by chronic mental underload that leads to a persistent lack of motivation and interest, to frustration, lethargy and in some cases even depression. Most cases of Boreout have been documented in office jobs, but in fact it can affect many different people, including Expat Wives: women who followed their partner on a foreign assignment or moved to a different country to be with him but find themselves chronically under-challenged.
    In this video, I'm taking the scientific research on Boreout and make it relevant for YOU! Find out:
    * How to spot Boreout
    * What factors contribute to it and
    * How you can break out of the vicious cycle and overcome it!
    If you think you may suffer from Boreout, reach out to me!

    Is there any cure for boreout? I've been in a state of boreout for years, and it's horrible, but there's no realistic way of solving it that isn't worse, as far as I can tell.

      Hey! First of all, I can relate to what you're telling me, having experienced Boreout myself... it really is a difficult situation to be in, as its deeply unsatisfying and yet, so hard to get out of because we lack the energy and motivation to do so.
      (I would recommend doing a blood test to make sure there are no other factors adding to that lack of energy - this is sometimes the case, and can be helped with supplements.)
      Other than that, what people experiencing Boreout are lacking is a sense of meaning. I would advise you to invest in a life coach to help you figure out what sparks a sense of joy, passion and purpose in your life. And then, to set goals and take baby steps to achieve them (again, having someone to keep you accountable is advisable!)
      I wish you the best of luck: there is a way out and I trust you'll find it!

      @@coach.camillaquintana Can you give me some advice on how to find meaning? I've tried everything to do so and can't find anything. I've spoken to therapists a professionals, made huge changes in my life, completed a future authoring programme, etc and still nothing. I'm always bored.

      @@someonesomeone25 well, from what you're telling me (and without knowing you of course) let me offer this: is it possible that you didn't find something sufficiently challenging to do?
      You know how the kid acting up in school is often not be the 'bad one' as many think, but actually the brilliant one that's simply underchallenged?
      Do you have people in your orbit that do truly inspiring things and can serve as a role model? Most of us unfortunately don't but look for them, because hanging out with them is contagious!
      For the next few days, play with the thought of what would be a truly enticing vision to have - if ANYTHING were possible... Think Steve Jobs, Elon Musk kind of big - just for the sake of the exercise.
      Then once some ideas have taken on form, try and see which elements could really form a compelling goal for YOU. How would it feel to reach it? How would it benefit others - your loved ones, community, clients etc? What would others say about you? What would be needed to achieve it and who could help you? (again look for those inspiring people!)
      Give this exercise a try!

      @@coach.camillaquintana That sounds very much like the future authoring programme I did. Sadly, it doesn't work for me because there's literally nothing remotely plausible I'd enjoy doing in life. I mean, perhapsmif I was given a few billion I could just be a total hedonist and that would be fun for a while, but other than that nothing motivates me at all.
