  • In this episode of Garry Was There we continue our chat with legendary Privateer racer, Peter Doulman. Who after winning in 2ltr BMWs from the Brock team moved on to V8 Supercars upon its' formation in 1997.
    In this chat Peter gives a great insight into what it was like to race during the formative years of Supercars, shares some great stories from the Bathurst 1000 and shows how Privateers could legitimately compete against Australia's best.

    Say what you want about V8 Touring, but it lasted longer than Group C and Group A. It lasted longer than its competitor, Supertouring and lasted longer than S2000. DTM Class 1 died before V8 touring as well.
