There's an old serviceman's saying I once heard "you know you've successfully repaired something when you don't have any screws or parts left over after re-assembly and it all works properly"
I totally understand what the an old serviceman's saying. I recently finished JVC M-70 and there was someone's hand before me. Some of the parts missing, screws were set to different position, etc... at the end of the day, I was able to correct all of them and M-70 became a nice looking and producing great sound again.
@@teddyhashee I completely understand the frustration with something someone else has messed with and you have to spend many hours correcting their mistakes in order to put something right again. Took me nearly a week and a half to put them both right - I'm surprised I still have hair on my head after that! _(this does not apply to standard faults which may occur during the normal service life of any electronics)_
Not bad for a simple design - that AIWA deck looks and sounds smart now. I had a black late 80's model National (purchased around 1991) that looked similar (equalizer, single cassette, detachable speakers, etc.) though the tape deck was on the left side with the equalizer on the right. It was dead at first, but worked fully after re-capping the power supply section and cleaning/minor repair to the tape mechanism - including replacing the belts. Eventually I gave it to a friend. Thanks to Teddy's videos, I can now get a rough idea of how to modify them after initial routine repair and clean-up. Keep up the good work. :-)
When I remove all parts, I took many pictures, I write memos and I organized small tray that I put each parts and screws in. I can get back to put it back together with these records and order of the trays. I think you can do it too!
Teddy AIWA CA-30 fixing the problem is really fantastic. I have AIWA XR-EM200 Which I am using for my computer as a sub woofer. Unfortunately I had problem in the CD drive & had problem with the cassette player also. But given it for repairs.
I just picked up an Aiwa handled one piece boombox from a local Goodwill store for $19, it's a CSD-TD31 in silver or whatever, looks like the tape deck motor is not running at all, no action on any buttons. However the CD deck works fine, and the radio is working great, all digital tuning. Antenna was intact. Batteries work great. Mainly I bought it for a bathroom dedicated unit for the radio and CD so I think it was a decent deal. They also had a Sony detachable speaker boombox a large one, but the CD didn't load, and the battery compartment was corroded, so I skipped it. Both of them seem like 90s models. My boombox only has 3 setting EQ, and QSound "3D" sound button, no XBass switch.

Peace and Long Life.... :)
Take a look at this : www.ebay.com/itm/Fisher-PH-220K-Cassette-Not-Working-4-Band-Boombox-Vintage-AM-FM-SW-LW-Premium-B/273632339593?hash=item3fb5c22689:g:BE4AAOSwFoNcKP~U
Thank you for your reply. First of all, I am also a peace lover and not going to argue with you. I just wanted to clear my understanding of how to use "boombox" or how not to use "boombox" on my channel. As you said that these small radio cassette deck must be called a personal or a portable stereo comparing with huge one box radio cassette deck with a superpower. When I use "Boombox" in my title, that will give a chance for the viewer who is looking for a various type of cassette radio from the '80s and '70s. So regardless of the type of cassette radio, I just used "Boombox" or "Ghettoblaster" for the search result. So I may keep using the same "Boombox" word in my title, so if you understand my position that will really good help for my future videos. Thank you and Peace to you too.

What is the issue with your boombox?
Teddy Hashee the point is that the cassette does not work just forward or backward but the play does not work just as the 100Hz band equalizer does not respond
Класс!!!
Thank you!
すばらしい
ありがとう!
Как с магазина, новенький)))
Thank you Sergo!
Hi, Abraham. Thank you for visiting my youtube channel. As you said that heat will melt the drive belt and it will start messing the cassette mechanism. After complete cleaning and installation of new belt, it starts sound great again.
Really 80's ,90' s music players are awesome . Present boomboxs are shit plastics more build up less buisines
