Thanks for the mention John and I told you your shots would be far better than mine and I was not wrong, Pro versus amateur. It is an amazing woodland though eh. I might have another wee secret location if you are into wild garlic.
Kinclaven looks amazing, absolutely Beautiful and you got some super shots, like you I went to a few of my usual spots to early and really only got some shots in Culzean Country park. Very strange timing this year, I really thought they would have been out earlier with the mild Winter.
Thanks Douglas! Yeh, I went to Kinclaven at the end of April because I'd seen bluebells in other places but there were none there. Took another 2 trips before we got conditions like this. Amazing location
Another great video! It’s great when you get together with Simon. The friendship is clear! The bluebells are stunning! Thank you for sharing the adventure.
Hi John, another cracking video. We both really enjoyed our time with you over the weekend, Ebony was smiling all the way through this video 😁😁😁 And yep, that's another location added to our ever-increasing list for when we move to Scotland - no phone call as yet, expecting it tomorrow now 🤞🤞🤞
Fingers crossed for good news tomorrow! Let me know! haha - Ebony was probably smiling at the thought of all those people online searching for English subtitles! :)
I'm a bit 'Meh' about bluebells shots to be honest. Having a fair few woods around about and basically having them to myself I get a bit indifferent about them, not as indifferent as I am to wild garlic ... really indifferent about wild garlic. However a bank full of lesser stitchwort (the white flowers in the shot at 22:35) next to a burn and a touch of sun glinting across the water, that'll do me. Walked by the Smithy Gallery today (closed) and looked in the window. The 'That Other Landscape' exhibition looks interesting, some well crafted shots, looked like quite a few early mornings involved.
I made it along to the exhibition last week for an hour. Some great shots. Definitely worth a visit if you get the chance. I've nicked / been inspired by two ideas from the exhibition. One is a presentation style which I hope to use at my next exhibition, the second is an "arty" double exposure technique which I had experimented with a while ago and gave up on as a bad idea. There's a great shot from Loch Ard there where it works well. More about all that in tomorrow's newsletter

Thanks Malcolm. Would never have found the place without your recommendation.
Would love to know the wild garlic location!
What a place this is. One of the best bluebell woods I've seen. Well captured too 😉
I'd never heard of it before. Pop on your to-do list for next May!
@@JohnMcKennaPhotography Already have 🙂🙂
