Man Survives After Doctor Performs CPR During Hockey Game

- A game of pickup hockey turned into a nightmare when one player went into cardiac arrest. Jib Street collapsed in a moment caught on camera, but thankfully one of the opposing team’s players was a doctor. Dr. Craig Bryant, an emergency room physician, stepped in to help Street and performed CPR. When that failed, he used a defibrillator, bringing Street back to life. The player suffered a serious heart attack and spent six days hospitalized, but is expected to make a full recovery. #InsideEdition
I know it’s serious but the paramedics being slid across the ice sent me
It was the icing to the story 😂⛸
He lived so I guess it's okay to have a small laugh
@@kiwikiwi2483 agreed

It also sent them... right to the patient
"But they can't skate"
Did she expect them to lace up some skates?
Right!?!?!?!
We'll be right there just give us a few minutes!! Need to lace up
No, I think the reporter just said that as more of an urgency thing.
haha damn xd
Reporters try so hard to make everything dramatic. They sound like morons especially with a story like this that is dramatic enough on it's own.
It’s frightening how he went from normal to out cold on his back
He was probably feeling really uncomfortable but attributed it to being extremely tired. Pride probably stopped him from telling someone or quitting/taking a break
My neighbour told me about playing hockey against a team of firefighters. He was chasing the guy around the net, next thing he saw was the guy hit the ice. Looked back and saw a very grey complexion. Even with a team of trained firefighters/first responders the guy didn’t make it.
Lisa Guerrero would have confronted his heart

That someone was from the apposing team
not only did he save this man, he’s a doctor AND a hockey player?! does he have any time for himself😂
Playing hockey is time for himself. It’s a great pass time.
@Peter Evans well... not every kid will play hockey. That’s pretty normal too. (To those kids? Hockey is work because they’re not used to keeping their head up while using their peripheral vision to keep track of the puck, they’re not used to having the skates dig into your ankles, and they’re not used to playing hard. (They’re not gonna be comfortable with the constant pain that’s in your lungs till the moment you get off your shift and count down your next one while hoping you had enough time to quench your thirst and catch a breather)
@Peter Evans to be fair... you don’t seem like you actually play hockey too, by that I mean you’re a poser/ankle bender. (Because there’s a lot of work to playing hockey. You’re gonna have to focus on your check/player from the opposing side while being aware of where the play/puck is, you’re gonna have to keep your head up and look around while using your peripheral vision to keep the puck in front of you, and you’re gonna have to be okay with being roughed up/hit/shot by the puck/slashed/tripped/slamming into the boards and all those little things.
@Peter Evans like hell... even when I’m a goalie... I get burnt out. (Your eyes bother you from focusing on the player with the puck and your peripheral vision on the player he’s most likely gonna pass to, your legs bother you and start to feel like your hamstring is at the point that one more spread eagle would cause a little tear or getting back up too fast) because hockey might be a hobby/past time but it’s work too. Especially if your end goal is to win a championship for your town in a hockey tournament.
@@ghost-whitesand9447 You sound like you're really out of shape, and need better fitting skates. Hockey is fun, especially beer league hockey, like in this video. Nobody's playing for "your town" here.
Someone give Dr. Craig Bryant, a Medal for saving this hockey player's life!
Why they’re meant to do that
Yes omg
Just because a Dr is supposed to help and save lives, does not mean he can't still be thanked!!(to the people saying he shouldnt be😣)
@@purplenurple9812 but still most people never knew there was a doctor on the team! 😲😰
They're meant to do that.
This man has to be the luckiest person in the world to have an emergency room Doctor with a defib available.
Not quite. A number of years ago, a basketball coach had a heart attack during a game. It happened to be during the conference tournament, and all of the team physicians had tournament passes. It took something like six doctors and four shocks, but he survived.
I really do believe that, ideally, everyone should be trained in CPR. Schools, workplaces and colleges should teach it.
Totally agree. It doesn't even take that long to learn. A couple high school periods and you have invaluable, life saving, knowledge.
@sayyida they have pocket sized protective masks if you're worried about catching something. Still, it could be a friend or relative.
@@LetsGoFlyers2011 plus in the UK during COVID we don't do breaths during CPR at all, and in London we have a compressions only policy at all times anyway!
No way Stepanie, up here in Canada children must be taught Shakespeare because we all know how important that will be when they go out into the real world!SMH!
Where i live they teach everyone in middle school
Dunno why the narrator said the CPR “wasn’t working” and that he needed a defib, it’s not that the CPR wasn’t working, it’s that the defib is always gonna be called, so it’s part of the process. His CPR was in fact working.
Exactly
It’s inside edition, they’ve got to be overly dramatic
He is so lucky that an Emergency room doctor is there.
Someone give Dr. Craig Bryant, a Medal for saving this hockey player's life!
well yes of course, but anyone who's first aid trained should know what to do
She’s like “look at that the paramedics can’t skate.” Like what do u expect the paramedics to put skates on then help him. Like wtf😂

I applaud not only the #12 but the rest of the players reacting quickly when told what they could do
That man is incredibly lucky. I have minor ptsd from losing my Dad June 18th, 2020 to a massive heart attack so I just bawled my eyes out. Grateful this man made it out alright.

There is nothing this ER doctor did that any other player on that team couldn't have done. That's not to speak bad of this doctor, but it is to encourage EVERYBODY to LEARN CPR! Part of learning CPR is also learning how to use an AED. There were 20 other guys there who could've done the same thing. Nice work to this doctor and use it as inspiration to learn how to save a life.
Your an idiot. The doctor reacted instantly knowing exactly what to do. Normal civilians would panic and think he just fainted. He knew to get a defibrillator and gave him CPR until medics arrived. This doctor is a life savor, something your to stupid to understand. Doctors have a calmness about them and know when something is wrong.
Did you even watch the video the doctor applied CPR as soon as he could smh idiot

I’m so happy about the guy surviving. But man that was the funniest thing about the paramedics getting escorted across.
0:32 If he went into cardiac arrest and his heart stopped, its fasle to say that the CPR didnt work. A defib doesnt start the heart..
Cpr keeps blood circulating to the brain while the heart is shocked back into a more normal rhythm. Aeds don't start the heart but more or less "reset" it
Real heros right there this world needs alot more
