We stayed at Cabana Bay the week it opened for our first trip to Universal in 2014. We have stayed at least 5 more times since. We absolutely adore this hotel. It’s clean, nostalgic, full of activities, extremely well-priced, has great room size options, and super convenient. LOVE Cabana Bay!!!
I'm staying at Cabana Bay in a few weeks so this was perfect timing! I absolutely love this resort, especially the oldies they play around the lobby and grounds! It reminds me of my dad! My dad never got to visit here (he passed away in 2017) but I know he would have loved it and when I'm there it makes me feel closer to him!
Loved you highlighted Cabana Bay, it's my favorite Universal resort hands down. 2nd to Wilderness Lodge, b/c that's my fave fave, but a close second. Just was there in May, and I hope I'm not the only one, but I love when you are walking around I can spot places I actually, physically was either standing or sitting at. Love these resort tours! Keep 'em coming.
Great review! I really enjoyed watching! It was so helpful since we’re planning to stay there when we go for our first family trip to Universal. Thanks!
It’s amazing how much more you get at universal. Even the rooms at 40sqft more than Pop. The amenities can’t compare to Disney. Pleeeeze do a staycation review of Portofino Bay. I’m going there in September for the first time and can’t wait!!
I think they gave you the best room in the hotel! Unfortunately, most rooms do not have the volcano view. I stayed at Aventura and was really pumped for the volcano view which I requested but when I arrived they were "unable to accommodate my request." They did give me a free coffee instead. That view is what is in all the promotion materials and I was really disappointed. (You know how you get a certain thing in your head.) It was still a nice stay, though.
As a Pop Century fan, I absolutely loved Cabana Bay! Felt like a suped up version of the 50's/60's buildings. Loved it all. Go bowling if you get the chance!
If you have younger kids I would say to go to Disney. A Universal trip with a kid who can't ride on more than a handful of rides is not a good time. I would check the height requirements to see how many rides they would actually be able to go on
@@lizciampadepends on how often you go (how new everything is for you), how long you're staying, xnd what you're doing. If you're going for a week and going to the parks every day, you'll run out of things to do at Universal.
Staying there for the first time in march. Cannot wait and looks fun. We usually stay at Sapphire Falls but wanted to tone down the spending a bit this year.
Just booked a 2 room family suite (volcano view!) for next summer and I was a little nervous because it was so expensive and we don’t get the unlimited express pass but this video makes me so excited and feel like it will be worth it. Thanks for the great video!
The Volcano Bay View rooms are my favorite so far in Orlando! I know Cabana Bay is "prime," but I have just as much fun as my other favorite, Royal Pacific (deluxe). Theming is so key! Honorable mention to Sapphire Falls..
Grand California actually has an entrance into California adventure from the resort. The closest lol. Love this! We’re doing Disney but considering spending a couple days at Universal and this resort is definitely looking like it might be it.
This really helps as I have three nights without a hotel reservation between a split stay at Disney. Now I know I’m going to stay here in August. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to walk to the parks but now I’m rest assured. Can’t wait until my vacation.
I’m here now. I like the proximity to volcano bay and the theming. But..IMO the beds feel weird (like too old mattress) and the people staying here aren’t the most classy people. The pool area is nice. There have been some nice people but many would rather get drunk and run over my toes on the elevator. Maybe I feel this way because just finished 5 nights at animal kingdom lodge which was AMAZING!!!
Ok so this resort is gross. I’m taking my computers and money with me to the parks tomorrow as I don’t feel safe leaving them here. There is food and trash in the hallway. Next time I staying at hard rock or at the doubletree across the street which is clean and similar in price. If UA-cam lets me I’ll post pictures.
And I’ve stayed in the all stars before so I’m not a resort snob. The all star resorts were clean and safe. Not sure about CB so I’m going to disagree with all ears on this one.
Btw the pens at Cabana Bay are GREAT! I absolutely love them. I’ll take them home every time I go and you can even ask for extra at the front desk and they’ll usually give you several 😊

We stay there before and it was fun we had a great time there walking back & forth there to the Volcano water park lolol we are coming down there next year
I stayed there in 2017 it was excellent. I had a view of the pool and lazy river on the first floor Wish would stayed there longer wish could of got to bowl. But if I could ever go back that would be the resort other than all star which were my favorite until this great fun one.
My husband and I stayed at Cabana Bay last September and really enjoyed it. We really like the room upstairs that was like a Tribute store for the universal monsters house at HHN. We took lots of pictures and it got us geared up for our HHN night!🎉
What is cool when I bought a tube, afterwards I could exchange it after use for a deflated tube to pack to take home! Love Cabanna Bay! Best park hotel in Orlando!
Our favorite vibe on Disney property has always been Pop Century resort. But Cabana Bay is definitely superior to us pretty much across the board, even going so far as to be more superior than pretty much all of the Disney moderate resorts. And the pricing and location is incredible for a family focused on a Universal vacation. Despite staying at several of the other options, it is also still our favorite Uni hotel too. (That three minute walk to Volcano Bay just cannot be beat!) We just re-upped our annual passes and you can guess which is the first onsite hotel we booked! 😊 (If you are doing passholder rates, those values get even more awesome!)
Day 13 of asking for an international Disney trip (Paris, Tokyo, Shanghai)!!! Quincy, Emma, and Fry Bucket please. Extra points for Sage!! 👩🏻🦰🙎🏻♀👱🏻♀🌎🏰✨🐭✈
We're staying at Cabana Bay in September (HHN!), and we're going to take that "20 minute walk" challenge, reckon it'll be more like 15 minutes ;) (my partner won't be impressed if I decide to try and gently jog it, but it is tempting)
Just stayed a week at Cabana Bay.. the resort was great, no issues except the ice machine didn’t work on floor.. but the one gripe I have is the food, it was very much mediocre, burgers was dry, pretty much the whole park had dry burgers. Good thing they had the City Walk
Cabana Bay was the first hotel we ever stayed in at Universal we've always stayed offsite! It was definitely great and will go back again! The only thing i was bothered by was the food i have a citrus allergy they didn't have a lot of allergy friendly food options!
I was wondering what was your room number with Volcano Bay view? I think a lot of us would appreciate that info so we can “try” to book our room with an actual room number request. 🙂💞 Thank you for sharing your video!
We stayed at Cabana Bay a couple months ago. The hotel was nice, with decent amenities. We had two adjoining Family Suites. It was wife and I in one suite, and daughter, son-in-law, infant granddaughter in the other family suite. Because we drove, my wife and I brought our own pillows. We did have some issues; 1) we did mobile check in, and since we had an infant granddaughter, my daughter requested a 3pm check-in. Our rooms were not ready until past 6pm. Very unacceptable, since the infant needed a nap. This threw her sleep/nap schedule off, resulting in grumpy baby. 2) there was a LOT of high school age kids staying there (for some type of convention) that were loud and rowdy; these kids were so noisy at night, running and yelling in the hallway, that it would wake up our granddaughter. 3) our room was next to a housekeeping storage room. 24x7 there was something loudly beeping in that housekeeping room, and it was just on the other side of the wall from our bed. Numerous times, it woke me up during the night. 4) we had a lot of issues with our room key being recognized by the parking lot kiosks. More often than not, we had to buzz 'somewhere' to get them to open the security gate for us. It was a VERY busy and congested resort. The cafeteria food service was decent. The Garden Walk from the resort to the theme park was a nice beautiful walk. The security checkpoint at the end of the Garden Walk was not crowded and we breezed right through. The pool area was good. The price was reasonable, but son-in-law said next time we are staying at a more upscale resort for more peace and quiet, more amenities, and a little closer to the park.
10:14 I get that AllEars is primarily a Disney focused channel, but man as a person heading to Universal who’s never been to Disney, it’s tough to find channels that aren’t continually comparing or referencing Disney in relation to Universal. It’s like, dude, I have no idea what you’re talking about. Can we please just talk about Universal on its own?
they have a map because the rooms all look the same. At least back in 2016. Back in 2016 the ice cream bar was not there. I would have been super in heaven.
I'm not trying to be a sore loser, but I have a real problem with Florida resident discounts. I live at the Jersey shore, where we welcome thousands of out of staters, every year. NJ residents get nothing extra. No discounts, no free beach badges, NOTHING! I really think that's not a fair benefit.
