The Rollei RPX 100 and 400 films are new emulsions build on the old Agfa Leverkusen APX formula. They’re produced by Harman for Rollei. Just like Harman makes the new Fuji Acros II. The “ei” at the end of Rollei is pronounced as “eye”. Same as Leica. You know German brand.
I also use RPX (both 100 and 400). As @Mike C has said, the current Rollei films have no connection with the original Rollei camera company. Both Rollei RPX films (and incidentally Agfa APX) are manufactured at the Harman plant in the UK. I am not saying that they are Harman films. This , to me, is a plus because I know that films will give consisent output and will be well packaged.
I was excited to find a video finally about rpx 400, because i have been wanting to try it. But unfortunately after watching this video i feel like i now know even less about the film. The camera company rollei and the macodirect company that now own the tradmark to use the rollei name have nothing to do with each other.
Ah yes - good point Mike - I wanted to give a bit more info about the brand history itself (without getting bogged down in corporate transactions) but maybe over-simplified in the process!
In truth, this film bears only the name of Rollei, which today is only a commercial brand. In reality RPX400 is the twin of the Agfa APX400 and of the Kentmere Pan 400 all produced by ILFORD (HARMAN factories) and therefore, not wanting to diminish its products, it has made this film with lower quality and characteristics, albeit honorable. When you produce a video and publish it, you should first document yourself so as not to make the usual barbine figures.
I'm about to go off the deep end and pick up a bulk roll of this to spool at home. Honestly, if nothing else, a flat negative for scanning makes it worth it for me. lol
The name Rollei has nothing to do with the Rollei camera brand. Now it's just a trade name that Hans O. Mahn paid for to use on film and chemicals. If I pay Tamron, I could possibly use the name Bronica for certain products. But that doesn''t make the product related to the cameras that once were branded Bronica.

They have nothing to do with the older Agfa emulsions. They are repackaged Kentmere films. You are just buying the Rollei brand.

I have yet to try the 100. My usual go to for that speed is FP4 which I love. Also didn't know they were manufactured at Harman plant.

No matter who makes Rollei RPX films, you must know that Rollei has been very careful about the quality of whatever bears it's name.
Wow amazing actually just shot this on a rolleiflex 35a 🤪🤞🏾
The Rolleiflex Baby used 127 film, not 35mm.
Hi Charles! Our mistake, I think we meant to say the Rollei 35s. Either way they are both gorgeous cameras and I hope you enjoyed the video ☺️
Nice!
