Knowing already the history behind the song and his reason for not playing live very often; it put a lump in my throat just watching/listening to him explain the song a little. The hesitation and pause. You can tell he still feels it like the first time he played it. Powerful stuff. I covered this song and sent it to a friend who'd recently lost her father. It's just a really tough song.
Dallas is so powerful, every time I have seen him live I cry through the entire concert. This song really hit home to me, my grandfather doesn't have much time left battling brain cancer. Thank you, Dallas! With all the love in the world.
The best part about it is the fact that NO ONE is talking, "woo"ing, screaming, interrupting in any way once he starts playing. I don't understand why Dallas gets a ton of drunk disrespectful idiots in the US, but this makes me happy that he gets the respect he deserves in Canada.
I was at the concert and I had never heard this song. When he started playing it I couldn't help but sit, stare and listen. I've never heard the song or the story behind it but it choked me up. Shows you how powerful and meaningful music really is.
I listened to this for the first time last year. It evoked such an emotional response then. My son, Joshua, died unexpectedly on Aug 4th of this year. I played this at his funeral. This song captured my feelings perfectly. Words cannot express how thankful I am for Dallas Green and his music.
I can't listen to the song and not burst into tears. Love you dad.
Sorry for your loss. Much love ❤
Cried the whole time, I have been a huge fan of Dallas since as long as I can remember. That voice

Do you know the chords?? I want to learn so bad
@@joshlawless6039 capo on 4. G, Em, then that modified C he plays on the last chord of the verse in Day Old Hate, but you don't finger the G

Brandon Wendorf - It’s certainly not always that he gets the respect he deserves here.. but it’s a beautiful thing that he got it for this. 🙌🏻

He is truly the most talented singer I have heard. Amazing. Simply Amazing. I'd love to be able to buy an album version of this. Tears flowing!

Not solo.... he even timed the start with dude behind him lol.
Dunning Kruger his whole solo tour is accompanied by his steel guitarist. His billing, not mine.
