Roscoe getting introduced to SuperM this is the best day ever
SuperM's entire concept and storyline is connected to EXO's storyline. The Kai and Baekhyun you see in SuperM are the same characters from EXO's storyline. SuperM is like another chapter in EXO's story.
SuperM features 7 of the best of the best when it comes to dance, vocals, rap and performance in Kpop. The members of SuperM are some of the top artists from SM Entertainment's most popular groups. As you know, Baekhyun, who is one of the best vocalist in the industry, and *Kai, who is one of the top 2 dancers in the industry, are from EXO; *Taemin is the other top dancer, with one of the most well respected solo careers, and he is a member of the legendary group SHINee; Taeyong is the leader of NCT, and he is a main rapper and dancer, and Mark is the main rapper and dancer from NCT-U/NCT-127; Ten is the main dancer and lead vocalist of NCT-U/WayV; and Lucas is a former rapper and visual of NCT-U/WayV, who is now an SM solo artist.
As we have seen in several of EXO's MVs, it looks as though the EXO members may be trapped within a maze or labyrinth by the Red Force and they are unable to break free. However, in many of their MVs it looks as though Baekhyun has been able to avoid the Red Force's control. And in EXO's "For Life" MV we see Kai get in a car and drive away from the building, which we think is the bar that we see the EXO members hanging out in in EXO's "Sing For You" MV. The building is where we think the EXO members are currently trapped. Because Kai's superpower is teleportation, we think he may have been able to get away or escape as well. Therefore, I think Kai and Baekhyun are recruiting members of SM's other groups to help them defeat the Red Force and rescue the members of EXO who are still trapped. I think SuperM are supposed to be coming together to fight the Red Force and to prevent or stop the Red Force from corrupting and taking over the world, etc.
The concept for SuperM is supposed to be like the Avengers, so I see it as each of the members are a different kind of superhero that make up the larger "Avengers" group. Just like how the Marvel Avenger members come together from all walks of life with all different abilities and powers, etc. to make up one big supergroup, SuperM has a similar storyline.
Therefore, I think the concept of SuperM all stems from EXO's concept and storyline. As I think you know, the members of EXO are all supposed to be aliens from Planet Exo, and each of the members has a superpower that is specific to them. From day one, EXO's story has been that they were sent to Earth on a mission to find and protect the Tree of Life from the Red Force, while also trying to fix all the things that are going wrong in the world, which are thought to be caused by the Red Force. As a member of EXO, we see Kai teleport at the beginning of "Jopping" and we see Baekhyun using his power to control light as the car speeds away, etc.
However, the concept of superpowers is new for all the other SuperM members. (You will see the other member's special powers and abilities if you check out all of SuperM's teaser trailer videos, which were originally released leading up to the release of their debut.)
Just like the Marvel Avengers members each have their own superhero story, when they come together to form the Avengers, they combine their stories and concepts and weave elements of each of the members' backstories into the Avengers storyline. I think SuperM is doing the same thing. And, like the Marvel Avengers who come together to combine their strengths and powers to help fight the evil villain Thanos, I see parallels with what SM is doing with SuperM's story. SuperM is taking members from each group and joining forces to take down the Red Force.
Similar to how the Hollywood movies "Avengers Identity War" and "Avengers Endgame" eventually had each of the Marvel Avengers members recruiting their whole crew to help in the fight, I think SM is setting it up so that all of the company's groups' members will eventually be brought into the conflict.
And although NCT and SHINee don't have a backstory that has anything to do with being superheroes in the same way as EXO does, I find it interesting that, for example, NCT and WayV have songs called "Superhuman" and "Take Off," which both have sort of superhero type themes in their MVs; and one of Ten's solo songs is called "New Heroes". With what I know about SM, it wouldn't surprise me that this is something they have had in the works for a really long time and they probably have been creating ways to foreshadow things to come in SuperM that connect SuperM's story to each of the members' original groups. One thing SM has mastered since the creation of EXO, is how to tell a story and how to create a mystery that connects even the most minute of details together to build an epic adventure for fans.
SuperM's storyline is already connected to EXO's storyline, and I think SM may be working on expanding the story to its other groups, in the same way that "the Avengers" connects all the individual superheroes' stories when they come together to form the Avengers.
For example, right after SuperM released "Jopping," WayV came out with their MV for "Moonwalk" and I think the story in their "Moonwalk" MV is a continuation of "Jopping's" storyline, and now I think WayV's "Turn Back Time" and "Kick Back" MVs are also part of that story.
There are parts of several of WayV's MVs where it looks as though Ten and Lucas are there to gather their members to bring them into the battle, and in "Turn Back Time" it looks like the WayV members are all beat up like they have been in a fight, which means they could have been in a battle with the Red Force, etc.
In other words, I think EXO are working with the SuperM members to try and stop X-EXO. If you pay attention to what Kai and Baekhyun are wearing in "Jopping," their outfits are very similar to the all-black outfits they are wearing in EXO's "Obsession " MV -- Kai even wears the same parachute backpack in both MVs -- which seems to indicate then that the version of Kai and Baekhyun in SuperM are the EXO members who are the good guys. Because in "Obsession" the members in all black are supposed to be EXO and the members in the colorful outfits with the crazy hair and makeup are the X-EXO clones who have been created by the Red Force.
So, on that note, I think people need to pay attention to all of the storylines with all of SM's groups, because I think at least all of SM's third and fourth generation groups' MVs and storylines are being designed to connect stories and plots. Each group has their own individual storyline and concept, but when you put them all together, there are threads of connection between the groups. And that includes EXO, Red Velvet, NCT/WayV, aespa and maybe even Taemin's solo work, and possibly even SHINee. Even though SHINee are second gen., the members actually are around the same age as the members of third generation groups, so they sort of bridge that gap between 2nd and 3rd gen.
And now I see connections being made with SHINee's "Don't Call Me" and "Atlantis" MVs, and even their new "Hard" MV storyline, as well as all of aespa's MVs and many of NCT's MVs -- most of WayV's MVs and even NCT-127's "Save" MV, etc.-- and now I think it even extends to SM's older groups, such as Kangta's "Free To Fly" MV, Super Junior's "House Party" MV, Max Changmin from TVXQ's solo "Devil" MV and U-Know from TVXQ's new solo "Nexus, Reality Show" trailer video, etc. It's becoming clear that SM is designing the SM Universe to include all of its groups and it is tying all of their storylines together.
For instance, if you watch SHINee's "Don't Call Me" MV you will see the SHINee members at one point go through some sort of wormhole as they are teleported somewhere and we see them all standing together in all black outfits. That scene looks very similar to the scene in "Jopping" when the SuperM members are coming together at the beginning of the MV as they are teleported or travel through the wormhole. So, it looks like maybe SHINee are preparing to eventually join in the fight as well.
SuperM is indeed a super group. Look at the visuals, dance, rap, vocals, performance, energy, charm whatever you ask for.. it's all in here equally. They're all rounders.

This is actually SM's third attempt at a super group. There was SM the Ballad (and later a second version of SM the Ballad with some different members) and then Younique (I think they only did one song called Max Step).
I swear a lot of people get carried away by rumors and propaganda by fans of other groups when it comes to SuperM which makes people look down on such talented individuals. SuperM was never made to beat BTS. They have nothing in common except they both have 7 members and both promoted in the US. SuperM was SM’s attempt to expand into the US market by partnering with Capitol Records. So many groups nowadays have releases targeted for US market but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are anti-BTS.
Typical ARMYs creating their own story of "everyone in the industry hate BTS and want to compete with them" Their small brain can't understand this is LSM's dream project and there might be a possibility that he has this plan for a long time.But the company is against of it , plus they did many wrong like treating the original groups horribly,members also weren't found of the super group idea, because of this reason OG fans also didn't support it fully, which is why SuperM didn't do as much as everyone expected. But Bts fan won't understand it, they don't have enough intelligence to understand.So they create the whole false scenario of SuperM is created to beat BTS but thhey failed etc

What are talking about...of course they were made to compete with the success of BTS. I mean you guys make points that you think are valid, but obviously aren't doing all your research. Apparently you guys haven't read the things that the guy who was the head of SM who literally took credit for the group (pretty shady move by the way)

Sorry but if you wanna say little nasty snid comments, and try and blame things on Army can't stop you, but your only going to make yourself look bad. Lets be real, Army has flaws like every other fandom, trust me I know, I am Army! But with in we are the ones who deal with the toxic Army's as well. But everyone who is even at least a little honest knows that there are things that Army are known for...and being well informed and educated is definitely one of them. So maybe stop talking about what you think you know and maybe do some research of your own before talking. If you had, you would obviously have seen why these types of things have been said about SuperM, and not just by Army's.

Just use your brains. There is an entire video on youtube that explains a lot on this topic, and yes evidence is shown and they did their research to make the video. Maybe you guys should watch it. Apparently many will definitely learn some things from it.

Saw SuperM the month before C-19 shut down the world. It was super fun.
for the sm lore part, usually sm releases sibling groups one girlgroup one boygroup.. shinee and f(x), exo and red velvet etc, so kinda yeah their lores are connected..baekhyun is pronounced "bek-hyun" (i dont know if that helps) but when he went on the ellen degeneres show with superm he said "hi guys my name is baekhyun, but you can call me bacon" thats why we call him bacon! please check "one (monster and infinity)" its my favorite and its really good, also fun fact "one" is two songs in one, they couldnt pick which one (monster or infinity) would be the best to be the main song of the album so they put it in one aka "one (monster and infinity)". so we have "one (monster and infinity)" and also "monster" and "infinity" as two separate songs. i hope thats not confusing! thank you for the superm reaction

I absolutely LOVE every member of this group a lot. That being said, this groups concept went over like a lead balloon. Also, watching members trying to explain the ridiculous concept for this song to American talk show hosts was cringy at best. I felt SO bad for them.
Neither of SM's attempts to create a super group went over well. Jopping did ok as their first album but it never was the BTS killer. As for GOT (Girls On Top), it really fell flat (although I did really like Step on It). The timing also hurt because Covid

I love SuperM the albums are amazing. I love it when SM plays with their artists and we get units, colabs and special groups. It just so nice to see them working together and it hits so bad!!! The SM Palace album is just incredible!!!

I’m not a fan of the word “jopping” but I see loads of people say Marks rap is nonsense and I’m just here to say it makes perfect sense as a diss if you know basketball terminology! Exactly as the remark below and comment to the comment in the live chat; SUPERM was NOT made to compete BTS at the US market, no need for that either, SuperM is remarkable on their own. It is not the first time SM collab within the companies group, they did it before, and Taemin and Kai has been in a youth collab before, with Super Junior members and others, and even Minho was a part of it back then. In the setting up of SuperM, it was formed in 2019 by SM Entertainment and Capitol Music Group, who was eager of this idea of a korean group with more English lyrics and so on. Taemin had his solo, as his members was enlisted, so he said in an intervjue that this was something he was curious to participate in when he heard about this idea. Also he knew the other members from the other groups well, so he new the chemistry would be great- which it certainly did. Strongly doubt they will ever collab again, as this was founded basically by SM, and now some members of EXO is out from the company, likewise Taemin, who is only involved in SM as a SHINee member, and so on. But this collab was superb- the Avengers of kpop indeed, and SM really gave it the highest budget. Their debut song here Jopping, was filmed in Dubai!!

Yeah, "Jopping" was definitely an ehhh choice lol, but it didn't matter because the song was hype for a debut, and the other tracks on the mini album were bangers. By the time they hit "Tiger Inside", they really started coming into their own, IMO. It's really a shame that the pandemic kinda brought their activities to a halt, followed by military service and other factors, because I'd kinda love to get some new SuperM stuff.

SM lore revolves around Kwangya (wilderness), it's referenced to a lot in songs by sm artists. It's supposed to be a universe that connects to international fans. SuperM was the group to have a break through globally. Now, well we don't know what will happen with them due to military service and the whole Lucas debacle. Sm artists even made a song called hope from Kwangya. Aespa was heavily influenced by this universe. Nct mentioned it, exo, ... The reactions to this lore are mixed but it is what it is. The only thing that bothers me in this song is that Ten isn't properly shown when he hits his high notes.
Firstly, I love your reactions and I look forward to them. As for Baekhyun's name. The B is slightly more P sounding, so (p)Bek (soft sounding K)- heon(Hyun) as in Young with an H and without the G sound. Picture when people say Ya instead of Yes. Or to make it easier think Han then add and e, he-an.

I know it's hard if you are a non-Korean Speaker but I hate it when people get my name wrong and I find it disrespectful when people associate any name with Bacon or food in general. There is a HYa in the sound. I hope that helps. I have people call me all sorts of names because, apparently, my name is hard to pronounce so I know how it feels. I've also been bullied that way and it's not fun so I try my best to make sure I pronounce people's names right.

ARMYs really think the world revolves around BTS. SM has been creating songs with their multiple groups in every family concert, they had projects like SM ballad where their all best vocalists were part of it. You guys really think SM never had idea of creating super groups before BTS got viral? Also just because they promoted in the US that doesn't mean, they were competing BTS, US market isn't BTS's paternal property. Creating supergroup was Lee Soo Man's dream project, they didn't create 2 supergroups to compete with BTS or BP.You guys are underestimating LSM's psycho brain.
