Sales is the easiest way to get in the "premium" oem segment. Actually you dont need an university degree. Just good communication skills and a bit of "handsomeness"
This video is so helpful, my dream has always been to help people get their dream car. It’s so cool to se all these cars and get an experience that someone wishes for. The Aston Martin sales specialist I can relate to the most, i can’t really always be around nice cars and I’m absolutely obsessed, my mom sees an old Toyota, I see an awesome Supra. And there is a dealership near me called Miller Motorcars and their dealership inspired me so much to push my self to achieve my dream job. Thanks Heather so much for this video.
Very well produced and high interest, even if one is not looking for a job in automotive. Kudos for including people in a variety of positions and with a range of experiences.
I love this video because it's so true. I graduated high school early to start working at BMW. I started service washing and I still do that sometime but I have so many more responsibilities now. I dream of selling super luxe and want to give it my all. thank you heather for being a great role model
I’ve literally been looking for a video like this ever since I discovered your channel because I’m really interested in going into the automotive industry
That moment when photographing Supercars is the only thing I'd quit what I'm currently doing to do... I already get to photograph quite a few but you can never see too many!
Very Cool, Hi Ms. Ballentine, it is I the SkyWalker, if I may I rather enjoyed the video you just posted, what I took away from the video was inspiration and achievement and a dependence that Lamborghini is absolutely the best brand out there, I say that because even the staff at Lamborghini are developed...nobody just come off the streets...and what I like was the idea of "even though your foot in the door the "work" is far from being finished", I truly appreciated how growth in the company is out there and is available, maybe not in the direction of a "higher position" with the company...sometimes "growth" is Stability, there is a stability in my opinion in "know how" of the product you are responsible for, either by practicing your presentation, or by offering options and sharing why you think such option is necessary...like the Fire Extinguisher in a Lamborghini or Cruise Control, I believe Super Luxury is not just a brand name, in my opinion Super Luxury is a lifestyle...one must remember vehicles represent something special Spiritually...and if one has to have a lot of degrees and experience to not "wreck the dream" I am all for it, thanks.
I have a huge passion for exotic sports/super cars, especially mclaren. My dream job is to work with them and be a mclaren sales specialist. You are giving us very good advice and I would like to thank you for that.👍
How I wanna get my job: Gonna send my drawings and designs to lamborghini and then I'll get my job as a designer there xD If not then Ima build my own cars :P
Great video!! Thanks for making this Heather ☺️ I’ve always wondered what it took to get a position selling luxury automobiles, and now I have a better idea! 😃
... Aftr watching this video & reading a bit on Google i justt wanted to be part of lamboo... No matter whatever i hav to do for being a part of lamboo i wantted it so badlyy😭😭 i can't wait to get there
My love for Lamborghini is the reason why I'm studying automotive technician at centennial college. And I'll be happy if I can work for the Lamborghini brand. #heatherballentine
Do you really need a sales person at Lamborghini/Ferrari? I mean the sales person doesn't need to sell the Lamborghini, the Lamborghini sells itself practically. It's not like you're getting a Honda and you need the sales man to sell you on the honda and all the bells and whistles in options that go with it. When it comes to cars like Ferrai, Lamborghini, I think the person who wants a Lamborghini has already made up their mind that they're going to get a Lamborghini and which model and what options they want on it BEFORE they ever step foot in the dealership and before they make the appointment with the sales person. The sales person at a super car dealership is just there to guide you through the sales process but they're not selling you anything, you don't need a skillful salesman/woman for this supercar sales job.
When it comes to buying them new with no trade in then you're pretty much right, they have decided already that theyre going to spend a good sum of money on this car and the sales person guides them through how much everything will be an they pay. However the real sales starts to come into play when you need to sell certified pre-owned models or when a customer comes in with a trade in. At that point the sales person has to be able to as accurately as possible identify the value of the trade in and any certified pre-owned vehicle to make sure theyre giving the best deal they can for the customer but also getting the money the dealership expects for each vehicle that leaves the lot. If you go in to buy a used vehicle or a vehicle that has been purchased and optioned by a dealer you still have to go through at least the basic sales skills of identifying the customer needs and wants and putting them in the right vehicle that they have in inventory. And when a customer comes in with a trade in, the sales person has to be able to negotiate how much the car being traded is actually worth and what kind of deal they can give on their cars with this trade in. Just to add to this my I knew this one guy whos father went to go purchase an audi r8 and it was a used one they had, so when they were negotiating pricing he thought it was too high with the styling options it had, but the dealers service center had a set of wheels that this guys father liked more and were from a premium brand (i forgot the name), so the dealer said if he pays their asking price theyll throw on those wheels for free and he can keep the originals too. Negotiants like this are what a sales person should be good at, at least in a dealership that sells used and certified pre-owned exotics.
If you buy something at that level your sales person is basically the person who gets everything you need. There are so many things that can go wrong behind the scene but the customer will expect everything to be perfect.
Theres a dealership in Brooklyn. And I wanted to help sell cars there. I wanted to Show him how the internet and social media could bring in even more customers. I even had my first customer lined up buying a gtr 80k. But he'd laugh when I ask for a job or not reply. I've always had more passion selling high end vehicles. I have alot of knowledge in the high end area. So working at a place like this would be a treat
+Heather Ballentine, I just wanted to thank you and your extended family members, Chisty Weatherston, Melissa Carabot, Alec Ackerman, Bryan Holiday, James Williams, and Mike Volvo for sharing there personal and business how-to's. Please express my kudos! They kept it very real and you can see and hear their personal insight and passions come through telling their stories! It was great talking with you last month regarding my Letter of introduction. Note We are still working on my company's closing. Will be talking with you in the near future. Best Regards, Benjamin G. / NYC, USA
I was wondering if for any of the customers that you deliver cars to could tell their story on how they were to purchase them or how they were able to get to where they are. It could be motivation for others watching. If some aren't comfortable talking about their story or choose to be private it's okay. It could add more content to the channel and spice things up 😃 Great work as always Heather :)
When I worked for a Porsche dealership around ten years ago, I used to learn a lot about what the customers did career wise. Most were doctors, lawyers. Some were CEO's. Some held other various positions that were higher up on the career pole.
Your Video is very Good. You are very good at explaining everything. I am an Engineer and I have studied lot of Automobile Engineering. So I would like to be a Service Engineer at Your Place. Hey Heather, im hope and I'm also from toronto funnt enough. I'm thinking about starting a career in car sales, do you have any tips or advice? I also love your videos very inspiring
I've had a constant nac to sell vehicles. Always wanted to get into sales but it's not a consistent source of money since you have good week and a bad week. So it's not exactly ideal when I'm trying to get a mortgage with an inconsistent income.
I'm 15 years old, and i want to start getting into the automotive industry. Most dealerships don't hire people under 18, so any recommendations for other ideas?
Aidan Anchaya I'd recommend getting hired at their detailing centre to start off. Getting in to the business at all is your first step. If at first they don't hire you, keep on trying. Persistence is key.
Tim Swinson It's Just a normal carwash. High class one however. Im going to study electrical and mechanical engineering and will really work on cars then.
Heather Ballentine Hey Heather! Thanks for the response! I'm certainly not afraid to work weekends. Theyre nothing but more days to sell! I love the videos and your passion. I live in the area and have been itching to see Grand Touring for a while, just have to find the time!
I've worked with BMW, Merc and afterwards AMG-Belgium..even driven an old F1 from Hakkinen as promotion for clients aswell as a dozen pre-productioncars. Worked my way up from cardetailer, to promotor to sales and last function was testdriver and 'specials' (fashionshows, luxury-events etc stuff like that)......and somehow ended up in the foodindustry ..lol I need to rethink my life I think x-) J/k though, still love what I'm doing ...unless I can do something for GTA? *hinthint*! :P
Heather - your videos are very informative and full of good information on buying a Supercar. I really love the Aventador SV Roadster. I'm a big car geek. I have my own custom build on my iPad and add to it all the time. Who is the blonde in this video, she looks very familiar to me. Is she from San Diego. Very pretty and looks like she really fun to be around. Does she have a page or an email. Keep up the good work on the videos and next time I come to Toronto I'll stop by a say hi.
