The Lord Is My Light | Songs and Everlasting Joy

The Lord Is My Light - never was a truer word spoken. We have no light but through Him. And, in Him is "no darkness at all!" 1 John 1:5 - "This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is Light, and in Him is no darkness at all." What a promise. What assurance.
There are so many more verses about the Lord being LIGHT. I just had to list some of them below:
John 8:12 - Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the Light of the world: he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
1 John 1:7 - But if we walk in the Light, as he is in the Light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Matthew 5:16 - Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Ephesians 5:8 - For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
Matthew 5:14 - Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Psalms 119:105 - Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a Light unto my path.
1 Peter 2:9 - But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous Light:
Psalms 27:1 - The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Isaiah 42:16 - And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.
John 12:35 - Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the Light with you. Walk while ye have the Light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
2 Corinthians 4:6 - For God, who commanded the Light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

John 9:5 - As long as I am in the world, I am the Light of the world.
Why would we choose to walk in darkness when we can have His marvellous light? Yet, I know I sometimes do choose that. Praise God for His mercy and His desire to rescue each one of us out of darkness and into His light. "My weakness in mercy He covers with power. And, walking by faith, He upholds me each hour." What beautiful lyrics! Praise God that He is powerful in our weakness.
