@creshexacs64 this gun is based on the lmg variant from the scar 16 aka the taq 56. This plus the hamr from bo2 is based on the scar 17 aka the taq v. The 7 round boost is also fictional. The gun didn't really go anywhere

So nice to have a fresh new gun mechanism like this (I started in this year's MW2, so I didn't play BO2). I already loved LMG's, even though they are generally poor for run and gun playstyle and have few advantages, as it is. This seems like a way to have both.
5:06 this is a perfect example why I really like this gun and why even when it drops in RPM it's still deadly in most scenarios. He kills first guy and his fast RPM is spent, engages a 2nd guy before the gun has fully reset to 900rpm. Drops him very fast, and goes for a 3rd guy all within the time the gun isn't even having a chance to fully reset. None of them stood a chance and he has more bullets even with the faster smaller mag at 45 rounds. So more targets to engage without reload. Treat it right and play right, this gun really is a beast and you can win even with the slow rpm because easy to control etc.
I totally agree, this is one of my absolute favorites in the game. I love these kinds of weapons that have real character to them and feel so unique from other weapons in the game. Even if they're not meta or whatever as long as a weapon has character and isn't total trash (*coughsidewinder*) I'll still use it for the pure fun of it, but it's even better when the weapon is legitimately good like this one!
this and the SVA really show how much more gameplay-oriented SHG is than IW, where IW's guns all felt so samey and only differed in appearance/sound design, SHG is adding guns with genuinely unique mechanics (ofc this one is a reference to black ops 2!) that being said, the TYR stands out as being needlessly similar to the basilisk. like, why do we need two 5-round revolvers with a trigger delay? the TYR should have gotten a more unique mechanic, like a single action trigger (clicking once cocks the hammer, clicking again fires it) or something like the R8 revolver in CSGO where you can feather the hammer without firing
here is a idea what if instead of having weapons that are just simple state changes, how about we take them all put them into one gun via aftermarket parts, and make unique interesting guns instead.
It would've been cool if there was a special barrel that sped up the cooldown on the initial burst to maybe 0.75 seconds. 1.5 seconds feels like a long time in Multiplayer, especially when you're getting double or triple teamed and you lay off the trigger.
Yeah, idk why the cooldown exists in the first place. Hamr in bo2 didnt have one and that was just fine. Sva in this game also doesnt have any cooldown
It’s also a long time in Zombies, too, where every ounce of DPS *will* count in the Tier 3 zones or Dark Aether. You’d think the PaPed variant would reduce the cooldown, too, but nope. Really wish there was at least a visual indicator as to whether you’re on the open bolt or closed bolt fire rate, since that’d at least help time things…
What I love most about this gun is versatility, you can set it up as a true LMG or set it up like an assault rifle, my LMG build includes the 150 round drum , however that kills your ADS time , so you have to use attachments to offset that a bit.
I'm not a fan personally how if you let go of the trigger and refire, it doesn't reset the fire rate buff. Both the original hamr and the sva work like this, idk why they couldn't make this gun work too
I don't know how the hamr worked, but with the AN-94 it's only 2 shots, if they have the Eradicator instantly reset it would need to be dumbed down to something like 3 rounds of the higher fire rate to balance it, otherwise people would be able to essentially keep it at that higher fire rate way too easy.
I use the refire technique to reduce its recoil, because the recoil of the first 10 shots is simply astonishing (it is so good at long range that on derail I managed to kill opponents at 80+ m and I have even managed to kill at 90+ m) and after them the recoil is not so good so that by refiring I can recover part of that impressive recoil
At least on the firing range (it's hard to trust anything tested there), this has a higher damage profile in semi-auto. Might not have as fast of a TTK as the initial 7 shots can produce with only body shots, but it can also drop the STK down to 3 with just one headshot at the max damage range, so this gun has more than one interesting twist.
So for the calling card showcase I picked 3 weapons I was going to gild. This was one of those weapons that is in my showcase. I love this LMG, it's beast.
Out of all the camos in the game... the penitration kills are the most annoying to get... so atm LMGs are the worst to grind lol. Well and that katt amr sniper rifle forged camo
@adrianadams6237 I'll try that. I've been going lower side of highrise... but not many enemies go that way lol. Sometimes you get lucky and someone will rush the middle and you can hit them through the fence. Or the windows up top on either side of the lower level. But only 3 in a whole match is definitely not worth it lol
MW3 has some really weird guns and I LOVE IT! Playing with these is so interesting, and if you dont want that, the ported over MW2 weapons have all the normal guns you could ever want!
I love the TAQ Eradicator. It's really rewarding and I went on pretty high streak using the gun in it's optimal way. You drop single enemies so fast. Faster than most guns. Because it's not just the fast TTK of the 7 shots, but also the accuracy and recoil pattern of the gun. Even when it drops lower if you have good position and cover you can continue to drop the next guy. Or duck and let it reset etc. Yes the TTK might seem really high at the 625 rpm range. And it is. But if you are at range and in semi cover or ads strafe there are other factors that can make you win even when it hits that low RPM. You still have to play like you are using an LMG for best advantage because of the low RPM that hits after you drop the first enemy. You need that ability to take cover and have some range or you are screwed if the second enemy is aware and start to fire. But 1 v 1 encounters you win fairly easily if you have the sights up and can aim. All that said as Ace shows you can basically get it into Assault rifle category with right attachments and actually play way more aggressive. You'd win most 1 v 1 because of the 264ms TTK . Still it's best at mid range overall IMO and hang back type of tactical movement style of play. You can be more aggressive than a standard heavy LMG with slow ADS and open bolt crap.
Hi Ace, Have you ever done testing on if COD uses hit boxes? For example the angry clown is much larger in size than the normal operators. Is this a cosmetic disadvantage?

Hey Ace, what do you think about the marksman rifles in general in this game? I've found that the TAQ-M is quite a bit more useful than it was in MWII because of its one and two shot kill potential. In contrast, I don't think the other marksman rifles are as good as they were in MWII. Please like if anyone else wants to see a video on this.
Your tac stance build makes me wonder how tac stance compares to canted laser sights. Do attachments that help with tac stance help with canted laser sights too? Is the canted laser just a forced tac stance in MWIII? Finding where the line is drawn would be a good video idea.
I hope ace does a video comparing the difference, but as far as I can tell the canted laser is just as accurate as full ADS, but removes the option of ADS
Had a good enough time when getting this one to interstellar… but the ‘2 kills in one trigger pull’ camo challenge REALLY shows you how bad that second, slower TTK is, definitely the worst LMG for that challenge.
The perk where you can see the enemies mine, claymore, vehicles, etc. We could also hack the enemy equipment when we were close enough to it but I don’t know why in MW3 we can not hack those anymore. I meant how am I suppose to go k*ll the sniping camper on the roof when it is the only way up without destroying those equipment and giving the intel than I’m coming up the stairs. The technician vest is supposed to do the same thing as the original perk but it doesn’t. It either a mistake or (hopefully not) meant to be like this. It just make camping stronger than before. Am I the only one who think the same?

It seems to be broken as it doesn't seem to be tracking or working at all on ps5 for a few people and I'm getting nerfed and movement too and now people are on Reddit saying that their keyboard and mouse has slight aim. Assist what's go on man?
I find that ammunition attachments are basically useless in this game. They should make it that each type is assigned a damage number. So let’s say you use high velocity on the taq and its chest damage is 38 high velocity is assigned a 2. So if you use high velocity rounds your chest damage is now 40. Simpler to understand and adds a benefit. Your thoughts?
I agree. There should be an armor peicing attachment that increases plate damage, but decreases normal damage, a headshot buffing amo type, velocity damage type, health damage increase type( for warzone, easier to finish people knocked, and faster TTK for health instead of armor) a ammo type for more consistent kills( nerfs headshot damage like vanguard) and the hollow point amo is combined with health slow down and crippling shots. Would make the ammo type more interesting imo. The only good one is velocity increase and that barely helps anything.
They did something similar in Vanguard and it was unbalanced to the point the ammo type was a crutch. I like the idea, but they’d have to be careful with the balancing.
@thexclusiveace Can you address presistent bugs in MWIII in upcoming videos. Noticed A LOT of players are having issues with camo challenges (including completionist) not progressing at all. I have myself a few guns that won’t progress at all while the rest is completely fine. Camo grinding is painful enough w/o added frustration
I don't know about tac stance with this gun. We're probably going to miss more shots than ADS and missed shots is particularly punishing here. I bet a strong secondary is particularly useful with this gun. If you think you may be about to get into a CQB fight inside the next 1.4 seconds, then preemptively pulling out a faster TTK close quarters secondary may offer more benefits with the Eradicator than with other primary guns.
Does it say anywhere in the game about the variable fire rate? Because we shouldn't have to rely on third-party content to tell us key gun characteristics.
i really dont get why this thing has a HARD delay for the superburst... i feel like a lot of guns are held back by super dumb balancing decisions.. like the striker-9 not being able to 5 hit anymore, the super duper weak headshot multiplier by the sva-545, the mtz battle rifle literally being 1damage point away from being able to 3 hit kill
I don't think it makes sense to call this a high risk-high reward gun. There is no additional risk involved when using the first 7 shots to make a kill. More like low risk-high reward.
Not exactly. You’re risking running into the slower ttk in many of your gunfights. You’re paying an opportunity cost of not using lower reward, lower risk weapons with consistent TTK’s.
Perhaps but if you land most of your shots then the 7 shots are enough, even going into an 8/9th shot isn't adding too much to your TTK. Assuming you're just getting into 1v1s; gun's gimped as soon as it's a 2v1.
i ve always loved this gun since it came out last season, but 1 major draw back is when u facing multi tangos, when retreating and waiting for 1.4 sec is not an option, like holding a hardpoint and locking down a long lane where many are pushing u at the same time, cant spray transfer and kill 2nd target quickly enough. this gun just doesnt excel in this department.
They are but most of them are worse than the MWIII attachments. Literally none of the suppressors besides the Shadows trike are worth running unless you like the aesthetic.
Weird place to mention it but I just had the thought they should bring back tier one now that they have 150 HP and make that 100 HP I prefer that faster TTK tbh

It's a very powerful feature. The cons of that barrel would have to be very large to stay balanced.

right now, the Eradicator is my best and favorite mid-long range gun in WZ. it's just a dream to use, super easy to control, handles like a heavy AR.

Unlike the an94, there's no burst delay, so it would easily outperform every other LMG with very little downside

I want to like this gun but the bullet slowdown effect really kills it for me.
I made a solid TAQ build for hardcore modes. Fast sprint ADS compared to most guns.

I bet a strong secondary is particularly useful with this gun. If you think you may be about to get into a CQB fight inside the next 1.4 seconds, then preemptively pulling out a faster TTK close quarters secondary may offer more benefits with the Eradicator than with other primary guns.
This is a pretty good LMG but I dont think it dethrones the Holger 26. That thing is one of the best guns in the game.
I love this gun but you definitely realize it has a slow ttk even with perfect aim.

It says it in the description of the gun when you go to select it from the LMG category.

i really dont get why this thing has a HARD delay for the superburst...
i feel like a lot of guns are held back by super dumb balancing decisions.. like the striker-9 not being able to 5 hit anymore, the super duper weak headshot multiplier by the sva-545, the mtz battle rifle literally being 1damage point away from being able to 3 hit kill

I don't think it makes sense to call this a high risk-high reward gun. There is no additional risk involved when using the first 7 shots to make a kill. More like low risk-high reward.
Not exactly. You’re risking running into the slower ttk in many of your gunfights. You’re paying an opportunity cost of not using lower reward, lower risk weapons with consistent TTK’s.
Try to miss those fast shots against players using BAS-B or Holger 5.56
Perhaps but if you land most of your shots then the 7 shots are enough, even going into an 8/9th shot isn't adding too much to your TTK. Assuming you're just getting into 1v1s; gun's gimped as soon as it's a 2v1.
i ve always loved this gun since it came out last season, but 1 major draw back is when u facing multi tangos, when retreating and waiting for 1.4 sec is not an option, like holding a hardpoint and locking down a long lane where many are pushing u at the same time, cant spray transfer and kill 2nd target quickly enough. this gun just doesnt excel in this department.
Great gun, but the recoil is a nightmare.

I’d like this thing a lot more if it had less visual recoil. It feels like an MW2 gun due to the visual recoil, not an MW3 gun.
