Zookies make thumb picks with different attack angles which makes it easier to attack the strings at right angles.

Here I am old dog hearing new tricks. Good thing no one ever told me "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" as I might not have listened to you. You also might find it interesting to know I don't use finger picks as when I switch to my E fiddle in mid song I can't bow proper. Decisions, decisions! Thanks for this online seminar. Its a hoot! There is plenty more to learn for me.

This is EXACTLY what I’m looking for as a beginner. I played guitar for 20 years. I’m decent, but I have handicapped my guitar playing bc of incorrect technique….. Hoping to get it right on the lap steel from the start!👍👍👍👍. Basics!!! Where I always find the gold!

Hard to play a string with your pick in the air above it-Makes 100% Sense.
The strings aren’t up in the air.
