Of all the interpretations I’ve ever heard-and there have been many-Hoffman’s touches me the most. He somehow plumbs the depth of Jewish feeling in a way I’ve never heard before. I’m haunted by the beauty of this performance, and so grateful for the relief it brings during these troubled times. Thank you.
