This was my first Kirby game ever. I remember me and my sister replaying the game and going out of our way to not kill any of the sweet, innocent, adorable Waddle Dees.

Me and my friend spend so much time in Kirby's room, making separate parts of the room for each of us, roleplaying, it was great.
This game is medicine for high blood pressure; it's easy-going (so the lack of difficulty fits) and you actually play the levels to see what's next. Epic Yarn appealed to me in a way that my childhood platformer self was satisfied.
It's nice during Christmas to bundle yourself in a bunch of warm blankets on your best couch/ sofa, drink some nice hot chocolate, and play Kirby's Epic Yarn's snow world. It just makes you so cozy.

Kirby's Epic Yarn is the best Kirby game, in my opinion. It's not only such a distinctive, inventive, innovational and beautiful game with such an amazing world, and the co-op was absolutely great on the Wii. I have so much nostalgia for this wonderful piece of art.

Epic Yarn was my first Kirby game. I never owned it however. I would rent it out from a store and when it was time to return it, I would return it and then get the game again the next time we go to the store. Me and my younger brother completed the game and even collected most of the furniture. Watching this gave me a wave of nostalgia.

I was never a huge Kirby fan, but this game's beautiful art style and amazing use of yarn won me over. This is easily my favorite Kirby game.

This was my childhood. When I was a wee boy, like 5 or 10, I played this game and loved every single minute of it.
14:26 way to go Kirby! Yin Yarn LITERALLY stood no chance against your tank. Like you almost feel bad but he tried to hurt the regular Waddle Dees, every bit of pain was deserved.
Also helping that clip of helping that teddy bear just warmed my heart.

In fairness, the Osakan accent that the Japanese Dedede had is to them in many ways analogous to a southern drawl for English, so the casting choice was done intentionally for accuracy. XD

Me and my step sisters bonded over this game so much, this game is also one of my favorite games like ever.
It's incredibly difficult to harm anything in this game due to how frickin adorable they all are.
I'm surprised you didn't talk about the fantastic level design more. I think it's definitely the best aspect of the game.
This is definitely my favorite Kirby game and probably my favorite Wii game in general. I think it's just great in every way. Shame that Yoshi's Woolly World couldn't quite match it...
I literally have the exact opposite opinion. I think it's the worst kirby game and the worst wii game I own, and that Yoshi's Woolly World trumps it in every way
Tryo The Pyro I just felt the level design in Woolly World was super lacking and the quilt aesthetic felt less cleverly integrated into the world. Where everything about Epic Yarn was about the aesthetic matching the gameplay a lot of Woolly World was just any old Yoshi game with a new coat of paint.

I passed on Epic Yarn for the longest. A Kirby game where he couldn't absorb enemies just sounded dumb. That's like the ONE thing Kirby is supposed to do lol. But when I tried it, I loved it. Really great game and a relaxing soundtrack.

I agree about lives being pointless, just look at platforming gems like Rayman Origins for a good example. I think platformers should have health though, that's what I didn't like about this game, it was pretty much impossible to lose.

I am a bucket There was never anything driving me to 100% the game. This was one of the few kirby games that I didn't want to try and 100%.
Honestly, the fact it's basically impossible to lose is something that makes it stand out. Unlike the cruddy mario educational games, the levels are actually fun and really nice to play through. Having no worries of a game over helps with that aspect.
You can't lose. If you aren't aiming for the gold medal on every level, you aren't really playing the game.

This game, oh man. Me and my sister saved up for it, and we played it together to completion. I always insisted on being Prince Fluff, and she insisted on being Kirby. It worked out quite well. A cute thing we both bonded over

The Kirby series is in a much better position then the Yoshi series though so I'm glad that good feel helped Yoshi out a bit.

I kinda wish this game got its own spinoff series instead of yoshi’s wool world, this game just seemed more enjoyable to me.
And the pre- and post-yarn cutscenes are made of paper.

The music in this game is fantastic.
It took four years to get epic yarn

We all know what Yin-Yarn uses that sock for and his reason for being in that bush is even more notorious....
My biggest problem with this game is that Nintendo forced Kirby into this game. Probably to sell more copies, just like StarFox Adventures did.
But I think it's a really solid title on its own. So I doesn't bother me that much.
To be fair Prince Fluff looks a lot like Kirby XD

It took me way too long to remember and I had many sleepless nights trying to place where the song was from. My journey is now over. I am at peace.
Fact: This is a really REALLY good game to play with younger kids. I can't recommend it enough. I'm of a slightly older generation of gamer, the NES was the current console when I started gaming. I had and played Kirby's Dream Land on the Game Boy back when that was the only Kirby game that existed. For gamers in their late 30s/early 40s like me who are more likely to have kids old enough to start gaming, this is about as good an entry level platformer as they come.
As AntDude said, the visuals, level design, and music are of A+ quality. Every single stage, even when they share a theme with the level, is unique. No two stages look the same. It's very well done. What makes it great for kids is that you can't die. And while that may make it sound too easy, the platforming and level puzzles make it so you can't just cheese your way through the level. And if you fall into a pit, you get taken back to before the pit, so you do have to successfully platform in order to get thorough the level. In this respect, it plays a little bit like the 2nd and 3rd Wario Land games where you can't die, but it's still challenging because of the levels and puzzles.
What also makes this a really good first platformer for little kids is that it has 2 player co-op. So you can play along with them and help them out if they get stuck.
Great game for anyone, but especially parents playing with little kids. The gameplay allows the game to be as challenging as you want it to be.

Yeah, SS Ultra and Return to Dreamland come close. But I love everything about this game- minus the lack of any real difficulty.
