I was the first to find it by accident when I began doing these runs with TSC and I told him about it but at first it wasn’t viable until we considered consistency and animations we could keep and throw away. But yeah on stream he took the safe strat but now he knows and is trying to replicate for that sub 2:30. Later we are going to do it multiplayer and hope for a sub 2 using hh and 3 GS.
It takes me 20 mins to solo Vaal with a Hammer and by the time I'm done, you have completed it 6 to 7 times lol. 😭 Instant sub after seeing this. Now I can forward these videos to my friend who using the GS and tell him this is how it's done. 😀
Since you are interested I’ll go into unnecessary full detail: Flash pull he come back, smoke bomb makes sure he can’t see you because he’s already agro to you before: if he sees you he either 1) big roar and runs away; 2) sees you, agro, doesn’t roar, runs back to his fighting area he is suppose to be and can’t flash pull; 3) see you, agro, attacks instantly; 4) see you, agro, realizes it’s low hp and runs to the next area. With smoke bomb he’ll investigate you and goes “there is nothing here” roar and then stands back to his normal posture and walk away if you don’t attack
TSC if you look at the new channel made in the discord server, tomorrow we can discuss how the dunks were happening, and I think have one good idea how they were pulled off.
Artcmis MH It wasn't for Odogaron. Vaal doesn't actually fight you in this area, he will alway attempt running back to where he spawns. Aerial GS is just hitting so hard that it locks him in place. There are 5 things keeping him in place. 1. Initial battle roar (x1) 2. 2nd battle roar (x1) 3. Leave roar (x2) 4. Mounts (infinite) 5. Staggers (infinite) At the end I used up his leave roar, and I had staggered him recently which meant that if I didn't kill him in 2hits after dismount he would have escaped. All I knew was he was weak, so I went for mount finish to make sure I got a TCS in. In hindsight 2 aerial hits might have done it, but I took the safe option.
TSC ah so this is what you meant when people didn’t see the fact that Vaal Hazak has been trying to run away the entire fight. It’s a different world holding the steering wheel
First Canta* discovers an infinite backhop glitch, then Inevitable Truth discovers an infinite flying glitch. Poor Vaal can't escape from cheesy strats no matter where it goes I guess. Anyways, congrats on the sub 3! Now lets see if you can go even lower 😉 *Edit: HIMAZINES discovered the backhop, Canta just made it more public.
I wouldn’t say it’s infinite, but he hovers in the air for a while in 2 animations for him to recover from flash and something else that seems similar to getting a finisher, hence the consistent dunk usually on the 3rd hit
Tbh I’m surprised you never found out about it yet though. I found out because I accidentally flashed him too early when doing the runs and I suspected you already knew but to my grand surprise here we are- another case of a great discovery from an accidental mistake. Too bad it ain’t goin in the history books next to nuclear sciences :P
Not necessarily. He went for safe Strats on the mount to force a dunk. He could’ve just jumped off and hit it 3 times but didn’t want to risk. The mount took 30 seconds of time pretty much.
Flash pod makes a noise and monster investigates, and since the dragon recognizes the big man with a long metal beam hitting his face he will roar, instead the smoke bomb hides him so he doesn’t agro again
The mount actually delayed the last hit but great job on the sub-3. You can now officially retire from destroying monsters and leave the running around chugging potions to us noobs.
Damnesia i dont think thats the right way to do it. I think they need to update monsters AI in general to have counter measures to this ledge dwellinh hunters ahaha
ArcuateLine Douglas I think I’ve already replied, but the entire fight capcom made sure that Vaal Hazak retreats to his area and we had to stretch every animation with the skin of our fingernails to hold him near the ledge
Inevitable Truth i dont see Vaal putting up a fight at all. Retreating is simply AI resetting because his HP is getting low and its time to move a map. If capcom were to properly address this that monster should have used his long range breath atk , tail swipe, or they could make a countermeasure move that will prevent u from doing multiple aerial atks. This is just an exploit of the AI. Capcom didnt see it coming.

Vaal wants to go to his first area always, but once he is low health sometimes he will just run to the second area because odogaron spooked him. If you look at all the other monsters that TSC traps on a ledge, they aren’t really trying to run away that much because they are getting stunlocked and there are more animations. On here it is visually clear that they perhaps tried to tease us with a ledge not expecting us holding him there for most of the fight. The entire fight he wants to run away like I said. He is made to fight in one area. If he were to kill you near the ledge that’s not really fighting
Looks simple and easy, but its not. Tried messing around with this style, never went out well haha. Just a thought, perhaps using focus would help you with faster charges?
If you are meaning to replicate it, it’s actually pretty easy, the only thing is RNG and getting the dunks on the mounts. You have a certain amount of animations to work with, analyze them in this, give em names to remember, and try to arrange them. So far this is the most optimal due to consistency instead of praying to RNG every goddam run because Hazi is too big, and you used to have to snipe his feet but if he is too big you hit his head so he doesn’t reach the dunk threshold. One thing to analyze is to even get a sub 3 is for atleast 1-2 dragon pods to drop after the first flash pull, on the second is when you are hanging by your fingernails but it give you a chance to pull through

Focus doesn’t work on ledges, in his previous set he would run focus to make up for the crit and dps loss when the monster runs the the second area.
