Tom flats pre, that's most AK and some KQ out of range. He raises on the flop against the pre-flop raiser who can easily have AK or KQ, so that's lone Kx combos out of his range like KJ. So what's left? Tom's range on flop is K9, some 99, 77, 97, and some flush/straight draw combos. He checks back turn which then caps his range, he can't have JT, 99, or 77 because it's losing too much value to not bet even if JT did come in. By river, Tom's range is K9 for nutted hands and that's it. He has QcJc, QcTc, QsJs, and QsTs for bluff catchers that would take his line so he has some Queens in range. What's more, Peter's line and sizing smells like KJ or KT from a mile away, so if he's bluffing it's better to call with QJ or QT that block Peter's combos of those hands. Disagree with 97 shoving river after checking the turn, I think Tom has no shoves in range and just folds 9s and calls K9 and some Queens depending on sizing.
Uh no. Guy ran beyond good. Hit so many 4 outers on the river when his opponents had the nuts or effective nuts on the turn. Anyone would have crushed the table with his cards.
No. He’s actually not. Peter’s your garden variety Asian whale whose deep pockets cover up his donkey proclivities.. You’re conflating “good” with a rich guy’s thirst for action..

On the flop where Peter checks and it goes bet, raise, and then he calls out of position he looks MEGA strong. I know Tom’s thinking in higher dimensions than I am but I don’t see how I’m putting any more money in.
Jamming > folding > calling. Obviously check back turn to call river as it is an overbluffed line but I'm not sure weaker players are bluffing top card pairing at a decent clip.
Dwan blunders the turn - he needs to bet and charge draws. Peter isn't open limping KQ, 99, or JTs (he would RFI). I believe 77 is the only value hand Peter can ever have that gets to the turn like this, but he will have several flush draws like weaker AXcc.
What I think is that you waited WAY too long to ask what we think. He was very obviously pained by seeing that K on the river. Had you asked when Peter bet, I may have considered that Dwan might turn his hand into a bluff. By the time you asked, I knew he was most likely calling.
If Dwan shoves river, can Peter even call with 77 here? At that point he'd surely only be beating bluffs as I doubt Dwan would be shoving anything worse than 77 for value after facing 60% pot on the river. Dwan is obviously capable of bluff-shoving river in this spot, but his shoving range facing Peter's bet has a whole lot of K9, KQ, 99, with his only natural bluffs being (as Jonathan points out) stuff like 97. Jonathan says that if Dwan shoves as a bluff then he loses all his money, but I'm not sure Peter can even call with 77.
While i think you an amazing player and agree with you 99% of the time, i Do think calling was the right play instead of shoving. The hands that peter is bet/folding with are so thin and his missed draws are so wide, i think dwan made the right play. Just an opinion from a broke poker player so it dont mean much
I'm highly skeptical when some random shows up to nosebleed stakes, gets smacked by the deck while coolering his opponents and seems to know exactly what his opponents have at all times. There were mechanics to this game.
Der beats almost nothing. Does Peter have 88 or 10-8 or 2 clubs? Even if he had those draws, Peter is still ahead w one Q, K, 10-J, or any pocket pair 10s or better. Peter is a trapper and seldom puts that much $ into the pot on bluffs which is all Tom beats.
I think if he 3 bet flop tom dwan might fold to 100k plus . Because he wouldnt raise like that with a draw . With a straight flush draw peter would probably jam .
On the flop if you RR all GSFD and better draws, you can RR all sets except 7h7d (assuming you have no KK). I just think it's overplaying to RR hands like 6c5c into a c-bet and raise. I think you can shove all three 99 by shoving your OEFD and best GSFD, but pure call 77 along with your worse GSFD.

@@ambientexpanse it’s all math. You do know that right? There’s 52 cards in EVERY single deck you will ever use for Texas holdem. 4 of each card, one of each suit of those cards. If you have an ace and a king in your starting hand, that eliminates a combo of Aces and Kings that your opponent can have. It does NOT mean that you opponent won’t show up with those hands at a low frequency, but in the long term when you have Ace King there’s a greater chance your opponent does not have aces and kings.
