one of my dream cars, but i want the 61 and the caravan. I remember that when I was under my uncle had one, it was a 1961 caravan with green and white interior and I loved it, I want to find a identicle one to it.
That was superb - love the P2 :-) ! I would love to own one of these too.

Absolut tolles Auto.
I had the 1960 Olympia Caravan model, made for export to the USA. Top speed = 78 mph (125 kph). Had a lot of fun with that old car. Shift was 3 on the steering column.
Very well done, René, and the Opel is a gem! I saw you out driving it some days ago. Perhaps the day of this production??? I can hardly wait for the next episode!

Man, I was looking for a video with that three coloured speedometer stripe and that's the only I managed so far. My dad's car was a Rekord A Caravan and I was fascinated by that function as a small kid. I'd like to know exactly how that worked.

das ist der Hebel für die zweistufige Belüftungsklappe - bei ca. 0:20 min sieht man wie sie in der Motorhaube aufgeht!

The taillights look like a 1957 Cadillac. I like how the speedometer bar goes from green to yellow to red, to warn you that 60 kph is just too dangerous!

What gearbox and rearend gearing do you have?. My Rekord A does 3000 rpm at 100 kph. I would like to lower the rpm

What a very nice car!! I got a 1961 ford taunus P3 17M i guess they got similar engines, i haven't driven it yet, but, is the opel quick? Or you did something to the engine to quickly go to 120? I want to have an idea before i pick up my car from the restoration.
Congrats to your Ford - both cars have 1700cc + 60 PS engines an should be similar quick ...... what ever quick means today :-)) ....... but the P2-Coupe is very lightweighted!

The engine is a 1700cc with 60ps and runs on the german Autobahn maximum 140 km/h - but only in rare cases … more fun to cruising around slowly!

Un tanto parecido al SEAT 1500. Pero más sportivo. Éste OPEL REKORD se caracterizaba por su gran cilindrada en sus diferentes versiones. No olvidar la mecánica germana que en aquellos momentos destacaba por su potencia
La línea de carrocería también introdujo su particular aerodinámica. Puede también parecerse a los inequívocos "HAIGAS" coches de indianos.
Coupe kommte Opel schon immer gut. Kadett, Diplomat, Rekord, Commodore.

Vergiss nicht stets dem Benzin 1% gutes qualmfreies Zweitaktöl als Schutz gegen Korrosion und Verstopfung beizugeben, das reinigt auch die Düsen der Einspritzung und ggf. Vergaser sauber! Wirkt auch wegen dem Kalzium darin als perfekter Blei Ersatz!
