Check to see if that’s your DAC’s limit. Also check your settings in the Wiim Home app to make sure it’s optical output is set to as high as you want it (up to 24 bit 192kHz.) See my previous video on how to change that setting.
I always preferred my ifi zen bluetooth streamer using the ldac codec. Just plugged my wiim streamer back in. Playing ultra HD flawlessly. Curious what EQ setting you prefer in the wiim?
@@sethclark5572 I keep mine flat as I do some amateur music production on my own and I'm used to hearing everything very flat. Sometimes I play with the EQs on my Loxjie A30 but I always end up back at flat.
That’s something Amazon will need to update themselves. They don’t seem to be too interested in the capability isn’t even built into its own streaming device, the Echo Link. You can do it with certain Firestick devices but you either need to use your tv to listen to music or use another device to extract the audio from the hdmi. I find using the Wiim Mini with the Wiim Home app to be easier. The quality of the music is more important than the app to me. Pure casting via Bluetooth or Airplay to the Wiim is possible but you’ll lose the hi-res capability. Using the native app with the Wiim is still possible but the Amazon app will change the music to CD quality.
Thank you. I set it's optical out to 24/192 and it seems to be working fine with my Schiit Modi 3 DAC.
Is this the same with Apple music? Thx for the video.
Can you use aux input to output in spdif/usb/coax?
My DAC displays 24/96 when playing a 24/192 track.

@@davesmusicchannel7050 I use Ares II DAC which supports it. Wiim settings are set properly. I opened a ticket for this with Wiim.

Why not cast from the native app?

@@davesmusicchannel7050 Eh, there are videos on youtube of people casting from the native app to the wiim and getting 24/192.
