From a Gold Coast local, mick portrays what we are all about. A passionate bloke always willing to give anything a go and a guy who shows resilience able to always bounce back. From watching him shred on tv to driving past his house everyday and for him to show love and how grateful he is by giving people like myself high fives at the Quicky Pro. It’s a honour to be able to grow up in the same place and have Mick as such a sick role model is really is something special. If my memory is any good, was it the 2013 pipe where he got the second reef roller to stay in the world title race with seconds left in the heat or his win at J Bay 2016. First world title is up there as well. So many!!!

❤ such classic powerful stylish surfing. one of my favorite all time male surfers (i say this because my hero surfers are as much, if not more, females than males especially in recent years, and most (well, main 3, of my male surf influences are from the 1980s and early 90s :) ,but in the contemporary era , Mick is the guy whos surfing i can most relate to on a personal level, even though even on my best of days ever, i was never anywhere near what he does :)

I know it sounds "stupid" ... But I discovered Mick Fanning because of Rip Curl school notebooks and binders I bought when I was a teenager ... I could not stop dreaming all the time in class by looking at those pictures of him riding big waves on my notebook/binder, that's when I choose to search about his name, dig more about surf and became truly passionated by it.
Wishing you all the luck in the world....you really are a inspiration......and a survivor.....of life when I throws you a curve ball.....live long ...healthy and enjoy you freedom.....all the best love from the gold coast x
